Black roses & ghosts

"It's your final hour. The bridge between this world and the veil will surely devour you. A stolen soul will not help to sustain you for long".

The woman whose name eluded Severance now stood a few inches in front of her. Eyes were bigger then the norm and didn't seem to match up well with the pale color of her face. Perhaps a birth defect?, well that is what some ordinarily person walking the every day road of life would think but not a dealer of the dead. It seemed Rome was full of strange things and ever since Severance had placed a foot upon the soil of the cursed land she had felt the pull or more like the drain. It was as if a vise was locked around her inner core and anything involving the paranormal had a way of using that special vise to their own wicked delight.

The woman who looked no older then thirty five had passed by Severance while she was communing with a few ghosts who hadn't realized they had died. It seemed there was a whole line of gruesome deaths happening around the area. And of course more deaths meant more power currencies. Power from the departed was cold and with the increasing daily number it was becoming some what disturbing. It held both appeal and distaste for the grave dancer. Day by day Sevvy felt herself pulled in more and with the pull came the need to bring it all into herself to become a sort of power conductor. Tonight the necromancer practically bathed in electrical currents of sorts. The deadly chill slid up to rake invisible fingers up and down between the death callers spine.

The nameless woman stared at Sevvy with a look of nonchalance. It was a strange look because one was a trapped soul and the other a dead body that was animated by some unknown magic. Or more precise to the point, a ghost. Sevvy took another step in the woman's direction and like repeated clock work the woman stepped back and look as if she were preparing to run. Sevvy held out her hands and whispered beneath her breath for the woman's ears only.

" You know I speak the truth so why not exit that poor woman's body?. And save me the trouble of having to personally remove you. "..

Seven let out a call to the nights wind as he came down to land gracefully upon the shoulder of his mistress. Sevvy didn't look to her companion, no instead she took the last step in order to completely close off the distance. As her last step was taken the nameless woman lunged forward to take Sevvy by the throat. Two things happened next, Seven screeched out a ungodly noise and Severance stopped the woman's attempt at her by a simple side step. The woman fell to her knees then turned and growled up at the necromancer. It was a pity really because Severance hated to force the ghost from the woman's body but knew she had little choice for she was not about to allow the ghost to inhibit the innocents body.

" Be angry with me if you wish but you have three seconds to elude that host's body. Do you hear me?."

Seven took the cue and down he circled around his mistress of the dark. Huge obsidian wings shot out to send a few feathers spiraling in to Severance's direction. With a grace well practiced the gypsy tossed a hand back to collect the feathers into the spaces between her fingers. Those roiling ocean tides of hers rolled and with the catch of the moon's light they were displayed out in a shimmery transfusion of glowing crystals. The woman on the ground let out a scream, Sevvy waved the hand forward and the feathers became daggers and the illusion granted to the woman was one of cutting. The woman held her arms over her chest fully believing that the necromancer was reaching into her to pull her out of the host she now dominated. The wind picked up sending long wisps of black hair curling about the snow color of Sevvy's face and for a moment the grave dancer gave into the impulse. Collecting the power around her, the power of the grave along with those reaching out to her she pushed it into the woman. The soul in the nameless woman begged for help so Sevvy wasted no time in complying with her wishes.

The woman on the ground leaped up and came at Sevvy. The reaper's helper did not move this time. Instead she allowed the woman to wrap her hands around her neck. Eyes blazed and then with a turn Sevvy found herself slammed up against the outer wall of a brick building. It was a hard enough push to cause a gasp to escape her lips. She however didn't relent in her fishing around for the woman's soul while the ghost inside continued to try and stop her. Seven squawked making a loud fuss at the abuse that was being delivered to his mistress. Her head met with the wall and the scent of her blood was upon the air, the ghost laughed with in it's host and while it laughed Severance pushed on until she locked on to the soul.

" Gotcha "..

The ghost looked up to meet the dead of Sevvy's eyes and was granted with a rather wicked surprise. Those pretty blue's of the necromancer had bled to black and before the ghost could fathom what had transpired Sevvy used that second to pull the ghost from the nameless woman's body. And with a force all her own she pulled the ghost into her own body. The nameless woman's unanimated body fell to the ground at her feet.

" Now what are you going to do with it sister?. "

"Shhh, not now brother. I really do not need your imaginary questioning at this particular moment. I got bigger problems at hand in case you've failed to notice."

"I've noticed, it's kind of hard not to Sevvy. And when will you stop with this naivety that I am not here and speaking to you?. huh?. Really it grows tiresome baby sister because I need your help."..
The ghost was fighting but it fought with no real hope of winning. Poor lost thing, Sevvy sighed softly and headed back toward the cemetery where a earlier alter and circle had been put together. A pounding headache was beginning behind her eyes and the blood seemed ever lasting which meant it had to be one hell of a big cut. One hand was placed to her head and when she drew it back she paused for a second to observe the crimson stain then down she dipped her hand down to rub her blood over the alter. A chant of words was whispered........................

"One lost and no longer connected to this world part now.
Black roses I leave and power I gift to thee. Throw you back I do so now, no longer can you gift yourself into this world. The veil is now closed to you so with my blood and heart's beat I send you out.
Be gone wayward spirit, be gone and haunt no more......"...

"I Severance, mistress of the grave and partner to the reaper cast you out...Rest in peace..."

A scream pierced the night before a silver mist slid from the necromancer and up it flew combusting into small particles of nothingness..

" Very nicely done Sev sev.."..

" Stop "...

A look was given over her shoulder at the dark outline of her deceased brother. When he gave a questioning shrug of shoulders Sevvy shook her head and rose to her feet. Part of her questioned her own sanity. Perhaps she would go out looking for Ash now, he seemed the only one she could talk to about this current dilemma of hers. As if on cue the phone vibrated in her pocket signaling that she had missed a call so taking a second she looked to it then checked the voice mail. It was Ash, her eyes fell to a close as she spoke out to herself.

" Miss you to ".....

" Ash "..

The command send the phone into dialing and once she reached his voice mail she left a message.
