The smell of blood still lingered in the car, it was the heavy smell of human blood. She had yet to clean her car out and get rid of the smell. Instead, that would have to wait, she had something far more important. As much as she had appreciated Malcolm telling her it was going to be alright, it wasn't going to be. She had broken pack law, hell she had broken her own personal law. Parking outside beside the Hummer she climbed out wearing Malcolm's semi bigger clothing. Although the pants happened to fit perfectly at her hips, go figure right? She locked her car and headed for the house. She set her keys on the ring beside the door in case her car needed to be moved by someone before heading upstairs.
Amber eyes fell on the door at the end of the hallway that was partially ajar. She headed toward the door like she was taking her last walk, her last walk of freedom. She paused at the door and knocked softly before she heard "come in" from the other side. Already her pulse was spiking faster and faster. She stepped in around the door, and gently closed it behind her.
Her eyes found his as she watched him from the door. After a moment she took the needed steps toward him and went to her knees at the side of his bed, aware of how this might look to Ash. "I have done a very evil thing tonight, I am so sorry my Ulfic. I have bitten a human, with the intent of infecting him to save him. I know I have broken pack law and I must pay, I understand. I just ask you hear my tale and then judge me. I will take any punishment you see fit to lay on me." Her beast usually eager to see the Ulfric's own black beast was cowered as well, crawling along it's belly to lick at the pack leader's chin.
She took his silence as him allowing her to tell her side of the story. She did not raise her head, nor raise herself up from her kneeling position. She stayed there still, her hands touching his leg over the blanket that was half draped over his lower half.
"A week ago, my laptop was stolen out of my motorcycle and someone saw who did it. I found that woman today in a cafe and I grabbed her and dragged her outside to find out where she had taken it. She was with a human, who tried to stop me but I pushed him off me. It has very classified information about us, all of us. It has my daily logs and journal entries. She punched me first and I retaliated demanding what was mine. I do not want the pack in danger because of one simple piece of machinery. Another woman came... " She paused and now looked up at him, she wanted to show him her eyes. To prove she wasn't loosing her mind. "I don't know how much of New Orleans Evie or Marcus has told you of, but these two women. They drive my beasts crazy just as the one in New Orleans had. I don't know what you would call him, or what these women are. But they are not human, nor are they anything lycan. They are evil. They feel like he did." A shiver ran clear down her spine, her eyes widdening some. The thoughts where not pleasant ones, least of all the last look into the male demon's face as he tried to take her life with his blade. The blade that had left a nice scar from hip to breast and that had nearly killed her. " They reak of this, they taunted me back and forth. All I wanted from them was my laptop. However, neither would admit to having it. Then that red headed snake showed up. Apparently, the one with my laptop got into my files and found letters I had written to Marcus. And sent them to the newspaper to publish. And they did. Harley teased the one dark haired woman before she took her newspaper and read what I had written in confidence." Loke's jaw tightened hard, that pissed her off yes. But she had not lost it, she had stayed calm. "The snake lashed out at me with her power and to keep all three of them off me at once I threw the one that had stolen my laptop at her. I had called you at this time, but I got your voicemail. I knew I was no match three against one. Apparently, something was going on because the human had followed us into the alley and when the snake saw the woman with that human's scent on her she got pissed. She ripped the shirt the woman was wearing off her and then ripped her nipple off. Then the two women left, the dark haired woman pulled the other away and both of them simply disappeared from sight. I did get pictures of them before this though, I have already sent them to your cellphone. The snake did something to the human, though after the two women left. She kissed him, then broke his spine." Loke paused because even retelling it again, made her feel sick. A variety of emotions crawled over her face, sickness, disgust, pity, anger and then finally sadness. "She left him to die. Left him on the ground wiating to die. I went to him and took him away. I mourned his life, and I thought only of giving him a chance to survive. Humans are precious, but they are so delicate. I didn't want him to die because some monster of a snake got her jollies, so I bit him with the intention of infecting him." She met his eyes as she said this, she didn't regret it. She regretted she hadn't thought about so many other things to help him but she thought his life was slipping away in her hands. She didn't want him to die, it was just so wrong. " I have brought him to Malcolm at the hospital and he is in surgery. He made it seem like he was attacked by some animal and I found him. I came as soon as I could." Her hand fell from his leg and both sat lifeless in her lap as she sat back on her heels, watching waiting. This was the hardest part, admitting you had done something so wrong. The intentions where good but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Every word spoken was the truth, now she just had to wait for him to mull over her story and deem a punishment.
Ash had listened to everything she said calmly, trying to make sense of all of it. There was a big mess here and a lot to take in. After she finished he carefully extracted specific details about the two women from her, and took a few notes. Those involved would be on his mind, especially Harley seeing as she was the one he would most easily be able to get ahold of. It wasn't a matter for the police, but he had recently made contacts with someone outside the law who could help him with that problem.
He knew a bit about what had happened to Loke, in New Orleans and after, the pieces of her story falling into place from her mouth and others. There had been a bit of worry in him after what he had heard about her time in Barcelona and how often she had stayed in her wolf form. That worry had only grown greater as he watched her time and time again lose control of herself in public. Even the first night they had met he had seen her shift to try to fight Shane.
Loke had no discipline, and that meant she could show no real loyalty for her pack. A person who couldn't think clearly was only a danger to themself and others in the long run. That was the kind of thing Ash couldn't afford around the pack. Licking his lips he nodded towards the direction of Loke's room.
"Go pack your things Loke. You won't need much where I'm sending you."
Ash had every right to kill her for such direct disobedience of his laws, but he didn't believe that what she had done was intended as disobedience. Once she was gone to obey he pulled out his cell phone and began making calls. First Marcus's phone would ring.
"Marcus. I know you just got to Rome, and I hate to take you away from Evie, but Loke needs your help. Call me or.....just contact me and we can talk about it."
Sending Marcus with Loke was the only way he could think of to maintain regular contact with the woman. And a good way of being able to gauge how she was doing. Marcus would know. Not to mention that the two of them had issues of their own to settle. Saying a private sorry to Evie in his head he dialed the next number from memory because it wasn't programmed into his phone.
"Ariadne. This is Ash. I have something I need to put down. It isn't a matter for the law."
The message was simple, but he knew the woman would know what he meant. After all she had been the one to make the offer. Then all Ash had to do was wait for the return calls as he wrote a letter to send to the Monastery where he was intending to send Loke. There was no phone there, no electricity, but if he sent the letter today then she would get it before Marcus and Loke arrived. Anya owed him, the monks owed him. If anyone could help Loke he trusted that they could.
