Legs sat crossed and extended toward the man standing against the desk before her. Antonio was a good man, and he was the attorney that would link Michael's firm with her despite the distance. He himself was human but that didn't seem to matter. It was obvious within the first ten minutes of the conversation that he knew most of her history, or at least what history Michael knew. He spoke with assurity and confidence, which put her at ease very quickly. He hadn't even flinched when she had mentioned what she was and if he was okay with that.
"Ms. Asing, I have been dealing with lycan for a very long time, this is not something new and foreign to me. And I do know how to keep my secrets." Loke had told him to call her Loke or hell Lokelani but he insisted on continueing to call her Ms. Asing. It felt wrong being called that. A sigh was given, one of patient amusement.
"Well this is good then, I know Michael is one of the few that know back in the Boston firm, but I always like to make sure that my family and myself are safe. As for the shop in Madrid, Michael told me it was having some trouble. So I figure since I'm here I might as well pop in and have a look around. Are you available to come with me?"
His feet shifted from the crossed position as he leaned forward before straightening, moving back around the desk to settle in the plush leather seat. "When would you leave and how long of a trip?"
Loke glanced down as she lifted the Blackberry from her hip and touched the screen before "hmmmm"ing to herself. After a moment she looked up. "Well today, possibly till next Saturday. I have a feeling that I will be closing the shop down and selling it. It's not doing well enough and I cannot afford to have a failing business. My Savings are deminishing drastically till the insurance money arrives for the gallery in Hawaii. As well, I have no place of yet to put my paintings up for sale." Antonio listened quietly then his fingers started moving over the computer keys.
"I do believe that should be fine. I will schedule two tickets on the bullet. I'll let you know the departure time later when my secretary confirms the tickets." He gave a faint nod barily looking at her as he spoke and his fingers flew over the keys.
Pushing herself up she nodded reaching forward the clasp his hand in a shake before taking a quick leave. Everything had started to fall into place, the shipping container was done, the pack settled, however she did have unfinished business with Silent but that would have to wait.
The shiney BMW motorcycle sat quietly beside a lovely red convertable, however Loke climbed on to the motorcycle. She hadn't used it much back in Hawaii, preferring her Charger, but here the motorcycle made more sense. Rolling it out of the parking lot she jammed the helmet on her head and slapped the visor down before digging the riding gloves out of her back pocket. Sliding them on and buttoning, glancing around she pulled away from the building.
It was a nice trip from the new attorney's office back to the pack house, but the best part was the whole drive itself. The fact people drove insanely around here was probably why it was so fun. Although sharper reflexes kept her safe she couldn't help but laugh at the way they drove.
Once back at the pack house, she parked the bike off beside the house and went looking for anyone. She had to explain her absense and hoped they would understand. The house was empty, weird. Perhaps people had taken advantage of the fact it was actually over 60 degrees out and this was probably as warm as it would get for a while.
Digging around in the "junk" draws as she would call it she found herself a pen and the back of a flyer with some random pictures on it and started to write.
"Guys,
I have to go out of town, I'm going to Madrid to close down my tattoo shop there. It's been going through some rough times. I'll be available limited by phone or email [I've left both below] The kitchen is stocked, and there is a second freezer in the basement full of food in case you need it. I'll be back as soon as I can. Love you all.
Loke"
Looking over the note she re-read it and made a face, so mushy, so mother henish! Shaking her head she disappeared to go quickly pack some clothing for her sporatic trip.
