She watched them all leaving. Fleeing to preserve their worthless lives. Populating her land, ravaging it, raping it of it's wonders and minerals. They all deserved to die for that they were doing. Rage fueled the fires within. If they only knew, these mortals, what she did. If they could only see the wonders she did. Everything was already playing out in her mind. A melodrama coming to a close. The curtains would fall soon enough. She had time. There was those that of course wanted to fight her. A challenge that she would welcome. From her perch she watched those that took the plane from Maui into the bigger island. If they only knew that was where she lived. A smile curved her lips then, a slow cruel smile. Hands moved as fingers slowly rolled inward. As those fingers curled in the lava was being called forth from the earth. Rising slowly like a puppet on its strings. Pele lured the lava on to the land. Hands moved with speed and quickness. Clapping her hands together the lava spiked to take the plane on its way out of the airport. Catching it as one might a fly in mid-air. Lava hardened to make the plane a rock hard statue for her amusement. Laughter spilled from those thick lush lips. A child playing, shaping her islands as she wished. The symphony of screams reaching her ears. Though her orchestra was not finished. Rising her hands she conducted the lava to move. It washed over those in the airport. A wave of molten red heat. There was no time for screams then, all the pity. Not that Pele really enjoyed all those pleas of help. Calling out to this "God". There was no God here, only a Goddess and that Goddess was *she. Waving her hands around she would allow the lava to flow, bathe the streets and the island of Maui in its wonder.
