The mattress creaked under his weight as he shifted. At any moment he was sure that one of the rusty coils would break through the threadbare pad and spear him right through a kidney. It would be a fitting death. Bleeding out pinned to a crusty motel mattress. The perfect end to a perfect life. Solomon tossed and turned, trying to find a way to get comfortable. Thus far he hadn't found it. On the bedside table the small clock radio was on an fm station, playing a crackling version of some love song on an easy listening station. He wasn't sure why he had turned it on, but now it was just irritating the hell out of him. With a groan he rolled over, legs pushed out of the covers until his bare feet hit the floor. A hand reached to whack the top of the clock and try to hit the button that would silence John Mayer once and for all, unfortunetly there was no bomb detonator set to the clock radio.

When silence finally filled the room he deflated a bit, the tension of his anger easing enough for him to lean forward. Elbows rested on his knees and he lowered his head to brace it in his hands. Fingers knit into his shaggy brown hair, pushing it back from his face as he closed his eyes. The problem was that whenever he closed his eyes he saw the face of that girl from the Hookah. It was burned on his memory like something put there by a medieval torturer. He had barely been able to sleep since that night. Somewhere inside him he felt this primal urge to find her, to make sure she was safe.

That's crazy Sol, you numb nuts.
Pushing up from the bed he let his toes wiggle against the matted carpet of the motel room. The place looked like shit. Well, in all fairness it had looked like shit before he had ever gotten there. All he'd done was add to the chaos. Moving towards the bathroom he left the lights off as he went. The large window that made up most of the right wall of the room was letting in enough silvery moon glow to see by, or so he thought until he stubbed his toe on a stack of library books near the end of the bed. Doing the one legged hop he reached down and pinched his big toe with his fingers. That anger that was always so close to the surface welled up in him and he lashed out, kicking the pile of books, which only increased the mess by spreading it out.

Nothing had been right since that night. He felt sick inside, like some part of his inner mechanism was missing. He couldn't explain it, not in any words that he knew. Ever since he'd seen her face....and come on buddy you know it was a pretty face....he couldn't stop thinking about the blonde at the bar. Even in his head it sounded crazy. Well, thinking about a blonde at a bar wasn't crazy if you were looking for a little pickle tickle, a roll in the hay, or even a blow job in the bathroom. Problem was, that wasn't what he was thinking about at all.

Somehow it was all tied up with that part inside him that felt uneasy on the island. For the last few weeks that feeling had been building, making him even more of an emotional pisser than usual, which for Sol was really saying something. Standing there in the middle of his crappy hotel room he had forgotten why he had gotten up, and where he had been going. If the need to piss hadn't reminded him then he might have stood there mid-room all night. Shuffling into the bathroom he pulled himself out of his boxers, one hand braced against the small of his back as he took care of one natural instinct that he wasn't going to fight against.

Whatever that tiger bitch had done to him was to blame. He was sure of it. Since that day she had hit him with....whatever the fuck it was....You sure about that mate? Sure it was her that did it? Solomon ignored any thoughts that might lead him to blaming himself. And that was the problem. If he would just open his mind to believing that maybe he wasn't just the simple mortal man he wanted to be, then maybe all these strange feelings would make more sense. As it was he would rather be stuck in a padded room then believe he was one of those freaks! Shaking off he shuffled back into the bedroom.

Standing at the foot of the bed he saw two paths in his mind. He could flop back onto the bed that might or might not be moments away from piercing his liver, or he could just go back to the Hookah and see if anyone there knew who the fucking blonde was. Sighing he looked at the chair that his pea-coat was draped over.  Fuck. Grabbing the worn in jeans from the bed he pulled them on, leaving the button at the top undone as he shrugged on a simple white Hanes T-shirt with a V at the neck just low enough to show the slightest glimpse of black hair on his chest. Lifting the stained comforter that he had kicked onto the ground he searched out a pair of socks that rated under a 7 on the 1-10 scale of unwashed.

Chances were that no one there would even know who the chick was, then maybe he could just give up and come home to get some sleep. That was the option he was hoping for. She was probably a tourist. Nope, she'd yours. You're gonna be stuck with her. Ignoring the nagging part of his brain that told him such things, seemed his brain was having a real 'if you build it they will come moment.' except it was 'if you look you will find her'. Shoving his feet into the pair of brown scuffed up Doc Martens by the door he grabbed the black pea coat from over the chair, and with keys in hand he left his home sweet hellhole to head to the Hookah and see if anyone there knew the name of the mystery lady from the night before.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outside the Hookah he looked up at the giant Ganesh elephant sign. Normally he knew that it would be bright and blazing with color, but now it was just a dark shape in the night. Yeah dumbass, cause you actually thought the place would be open at 4am? Solomon lifted his wrist, pushing back the sleeve of the lightweight pea coat to see the thick leather watch strapped there. Yup, four o'clock and alls well. Stubborn he moved forward to put his hands up to the glass and look through to the interior of the restaurant. Maybe someone would be working late. And maybe pigs will fly and next week you'll shit rainbows. Sometimes he really wished he could shut himself up.

Vaguely he could make out the soft glow of a light from the bar and kitchen. With a shrug he gave a knock on the thick glass of the doors. Either someone would come tell him to get the fuck away, think he was a robber and shoot him, or no one was there and he could turn around and go home. Really, he was hoping for option three, though maybe option two wouldn't be so bad either.

Vasha had left over a hour ago to bring Jimmy back to his place...Leaving Silent alone. But it was nothing unusual for Silent to be here far into the mornings lately...Especially on a tuesday night. She normally would close the doors earily and stick around working on counting the wines...the stock..Seeing what was gonna be needed for the coming weekend..But usually all of this would of been done no later then 3am.

If a certain swamp wolf hadnt been dragging her ass not wanting to go home...Not yet anyways. So with Jimmy and Vasha gone Silent had turned off all the main lights around the place..Including the big neon one outside. She would throw on some mazzy starr and move behind the bar popping open one of the half empty bottles of burgundy.

She had fully ready to sit on the cool tiles behind the bar so she could drink her wine and work on counting how much she had of each thing behind the bar when she heard the knocking on the window. What the fuck. Did they not see the closed sign? Was the place being dark not a dead give away? Hell she didnt know. Shaking her head she would glance over the bar. Only to see a kid with his face against the window...Which in its own way was amusing enough to tempt Silent into seeing what he wanted.

Hopping over the bar Silent would make for the door. The wine bottle still in hand as she opened one of those heavy oak doors.Peeking her head out from between them she would shake her head some.

"Were closed. "

What else should she say...Didnt your momma tell you that there are big bad wolves? Yea that woulda been great. Tri colored hues would move over the kid...Cause thats what he looked like to her...So the fact that the next statement followed the were closed one wasnt much of a surprise.

"Shouldnt all good little boys be in bed at this time of night?"

When he saw the colorful head pop up from behind the bar like the devils jack in the box he did a mental groan. Of course the person left wouldn't be a cook or a bus boy, it had to be the crazy freak he'd seen up there running the place. He didn't know what she was, though the rumors around down pegged the Hookah as a werewolf establishment. Didn't matter though. Even without the rumors he knew most of the people there weren't normal, they all made his skin crawl with their filthiness. Who are you to talk about filthiness? You know you could be just like them. Inside his stomach tied in knots and he tightened his hands into white knuckled fists and clenched his teeth together. That tension barely eased as he stepped back from the door and let out a long slow exhale. If he wanted to find out anything about the girl then he'd just have to talk to the freak, and pray that later maybe Nori would blow their kind away in retribution. Had to give it to the crazy asian, she had style.

When the door opened he immediately felt his skin tingle like it was trying to crawl right off of him, and beneath the surface he felt warm heat rising up. The reactions he got were so much stronger since Jane had messed with him. You still telling yourself that stupid story bud? Clearing his throat he was about to launch into what he wanted to say, but the crazy colorblind lady didn't seem to want to let him. Naturally arched brows drew together and a little line formed in the center of his forehead. The smoky topaz of his eyes darkened as she spoke until they were almost a muddy brown. Anger rose so easily to the surface, and normally that would have been enough. Solomon did not take shit from the Others. This time though for some reason the little blondes face swam in his minds eye. It was like she was watching him, and something about that made him bite his tongue. Well, at least it kept him from just kicking his boot through the Hookahs glass front door.

"What's your problem lady? Did a tornado drop a house on your sister?"

Blame it on too much late night Wizard of Oz on the crummy cable in the motel. Wicked witch of the west indeed. Tongue licked dry lips and he started into what he wanted to say...

"Look, I'm just trying to find one of your customers to...."  To what Solomon? For christs sake you sound like a fucking stalker.

Stopping he watched her for a long quiet moment. Fucking Other. Probably wouldn't tell him anything if she did know. As his thoughts wound around this his gaze darkened like storm clouds moving into his eyes. Besides, even if the woman did want to help how could she possibly understand what it was like to be drawn to someone you didn't even know. To feel like you would destroy the world to protect someone you'd only seen once. To know deep inside that if you couldn't be around that person, then you would rather not be alive in the first place. A freak like her couldn't understand, or so he told himself. Shit man, you don't even understand it yourself.

"Forget it lady. Sorry I bothered you."

His Aussie accent was heavier with the finality that threaded through his voice. For a moment there the anger was secondary and he just sounded like someone had run over his dog. No pun intended. Shoulders hunched inside the black cotton of the pea coat as he turned to go. That padded room and a shot of sedative was sounding pretty good about then. Maybe if he got a nice enough doctor they could just give him the pretty pink pills that would help him sleep and drown out whatever these thoughts and feelings were that were trying to get inside him.

Blame it habit..Or her new romance with being anti social..Or the biggest factor of there was some crazy shit happening on these islands...But she wasn't about to open the doors and sign a welcome song to some stranger. Hell it was something she shoulda started doing years ago.So the fact she just stuck her head out well was just a excuse to get a good smell of what the hell or who the hell this person was...And well...Lycan was a big check off the list. So why the hell was some fleshbag kid here?

But the kid was quick. So when his crack about her sister having a house dropped on her had a sound she hadn't heard in a good few weeks filling the quite night...Her laughter. She didn't know why his comment..Actually amused her...Or maybe it was the fact that the only person she called her sister was Leni and the idea of the midnight wolf being the wicked witch of the east...Well the whole picture in her head was unending amusement. Enough so that she would open the door more and actually step out some.

" If I said yes...Does that mean youre Dorthy and are wearing ruby slippers?"

Tri colored hues just watching him as he twitched. There was something different about him..He wasnt like your everyday fleshbag...Or hell he wasnt like Jimmy eighter. Leaning against the door she would cross her arms over her chest. As he spoke she would just watch him..Wow..This kid must have it bad if hes coming back around the hookah looking for one of her customers...Though she didnt really see any of the folks that hung around here...To be his type. Seeing that most of them turned fuzzy in the moons pale light or well...Craved blood.

So she really didnt say anything. Not yet...In actuality he had got her hooked. She wanted to know..Who this customer was...So she was waiting for him to explain what this girl..Or guy looked like. Hell who knew...It might be Mahina...Or oo oo Vasha. Bout time the old crow get some lovings. But then he had to go and throw out the Oh never mind and start to walk off...Sighing she was tempted to just go back in to her wine...and her invetory..But dammit this was to damn juiciey to let go. Hell she could fix her own love life...Maybe she could help someone elses.

Reaching out as he started to walk she would tap his shoulder.

"How 'bouts you just common inside...Maybe I know who ya lookin for...But no promises. If anything it will give me a break from this invetory."

When she touched him he reacted without thinking. That part of his brain that had driven him for so long instinctively jerked away from her, as though he might catch something. But it wasn't the jerk away that would be shocking, it was the sudden flesh searing flash of heat that leapt from him to her hand. It was a flesh melting seer of power that seemed to be pushing her away. Stranger still was that he was totally unaware of it, continuing to turn with only that same mistrustful look on his face. Solomons anger abated somewhat with a sigh as those smoky eyes lightened a hue and glanced at the opened door of the Hookah.

"Thanks. I could use a drink." Yeah, of arsenic.

Moving past her and through the open door he had no idea what he had done, and if it was brought up he would most likely think she had imagined it, or done it herself. Solomons step was confident, though his shoulders hunched slightly as he moved towards the bar. He had to fight the urge to look back over his shoulder. It wasn't natural for him to trust someone at his back, but since that night he couldn't think of anything but finding the blonde girl. It wasn't like him. But he couldn't stop himself. Pulling back a stool he slipped onto it and rested his elbows on the bar top.

"The girl I'm looking for was here just a few nights ago. She about this tall," he held out a hand indicating Lyliannas height. "With blonde hair and blue eyes."

As he listened to himself describe her he wanted to roll his own eyes. Jesus, a guy looking for a cute little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. He'd be lucky if this chick didn't refer him to the toy isle at Target to look for Barbies. But how else could he describe her. You could tell her that the girl makes you feel like you've known her forever after just one moment. Or that inside you feel like you are destined to protect her. Yeah, and then he could just toss himself into the closest mental hospital and wait for Jello time.

"I know this probably sounds crazy. Or I sound crazy. But if you know who she is or where I can find her....."

When he looked up at Silent next there was a strange sort of longing in his eyes that were suddenly flashing a bright turquoise. Something in his eyes showed so much more than he ever could of himself. It showed that old soul inside that had been alive when the pyramids were built. Deep down inside his dying soul was something as old as the banks of the Nile, he just didn't know it.

Maybe Silent was to use to being around lycans..Used to creatures that craved touch. So when he pulled away it was almost like a slap in the face. Not that that seer of pain shooting up her hand didnt add to the whole slap.Oh hell no...Not again...She would not go threw the fire again...Dammit..As he kept walking Silent was already slowing her role. Watching the cocky youth go threw the door. Those tri colored hues watched him like a hawk now.

"Fo fucks sake...The lil bastard burnt me."

Now this was said under her breath..Not something someone who wasnt listening would pick up on.

And while some kind of uneasiness filled her...That feel of power that slammed against her..Had the wolf perking up and ready to pounce on what ever this male was..Kinda like a wolf pup would with its first encounter with a snapping turttle. Evil things that they are. Whistleing she followed in...Yes the was her sancutary...She was safe here...

Whatever this...Man was...Well he was talking..Tune in Sil. Listen to him...But it was a damn hard thing..She saw his lips moving...But didnt hear his words. Moving to grab the rag that laid in one of the water filled ice buckets she would wrap it around her hand...Did the little fucker not realize what the hell he did? Jesus.Grabbing for that bottle of wine she would shake her head.

Should she say something? Like listen you dumb fuck umm..HELLLOOO you just..Like I dunno..Burned me?Yea. Tell some pyro something like that and Sil..You wount have the chance to burn this place down...Before he does with you in it. Taking another sip from the bottle she would grab him a shot glass and a one of the bottles of well whiskey and setting it next to the glass..She wasnt touching him or anything like that.

Ok now time to listen...Sil. And she was trying..God knows she was....But the fucker burnt her. Ok..Ok...Blond..Short...Well that went for a good handful of women on the island...ALOT of the women around here were short..Or at least shorter then herself..Most of them if not all of them has  sun dyed or well bleach dyed blond hair. And well...Maybe Silent would of giving some smart ass answer...Like..Well she couldnt think of one at the moment...

Ok. Blond. Short. Hangs out at the hookah.

Well since he didnt mention dreadlocks..There went Vasha.

Which brought her to Lou, Lilly and that girl who saved Mahina and Coyote.

Frowning a moment Silent would look down just in time to see the look in Sol's eyes.It pulled at her...It really did. She didnt know why...But something in his eyes...Just told a story that was older then the man himself.

"Well...Ya know theres alot of girls like you discribed that come around heres....Whatcha name kid?"

Oh god why did he have to look at her like that? Now it looked like she was damn bound to helping this strange man find his..Hearts desire.Damnit Damnit Damnit!!!

"Can you tell me more about her...Cause well shes blond and short..Well That can describe almost anyone...Mainly Barbie...The doll..Erm..Yea..Gimme more details about this woman..Or better yet when did you see her here?"

"Four days ago."

Had it been four days? Jesus, it felt like fifty. Solomon took the shot glass that had been set down and slung back the liquor. If he'd known what the woman was thinking he would probably have spit up the booze. The idea of him in love was crazy. Pure and utter insanity. Besides this didn't feel the way people described love. It felt more like the way you would feel if you had your arm amputated. That phantom limb would haunt you, and if you could get that limb back the idea might obsess you. Yeah, it was kind of like that. The liquor burned his throat going down and he liked it. It helped him think straight.

"She looks like.....like someone stuck the sun in human skin."

His thick Australian accent was rough on the words, and he begrudgingly grumbled the last words not sure that he wanted to be saying something so pathetic outside his head. Or inside. Fingers twirled the shot glass on the bar top before letting it slide across the bar to stop at the edge. Little bar room trick. He closed his eyes and fingertips rubbed softly at his eyelids as he tried to remember anything else about the girl that he had seen. It was hard though when his whole field of vision seemed to swim with her eyes.

"There was some guy.....some really big guy right behind her. Looked like a bodyguard or something."

Sunshine in skin with a bodyguard. This gets better and better.
Blinking he looked back at her and watched for any derisive reaction to play across Silents features. Looking for any excuse to get pissed off and leave. No matter how much he wanted to know, there was an equal part of him that just wanted to go find Nori and beg her to blow something up. Anything to distract him from this fresh hell he found himself in. Please his eyes begged please know who she is.

While the kid...Yes the kid..He never gave her a name. So he would remain 'the kid' till she had a name...Anyways while the kid worked on his drinking..Sil would peek at the burn mark on her hand..She was gonna have to have Lace take a look at it when she got home. That is if it wasnt completely healed by time she finnally got home.

Once again she found herself letting her mind wander..Pssst Earth to Silent...Come in Silent..This is the comand center...You seem to be spacing out again. But who could blame her...Those whispers that seemed to always surround her were here once more.Tri colored hues coming down to gaze at the male..She would try and search her brain....Four nights ago....A blond with a big guy...

"Oh my god. Is she extreamly bubbly? Like so much so you just want to punch a puppy? And so cute it makes you wanna throw up? With a big body gaurd with some crazy name...Like Giggles..Or Bubbles or something sissy like that?"

Mahina's healer. The girl that was just too bubbly and sweet for Silent to stomach more then a half hour...And it was nothing against the girl..She was a sweetheart. She really was..But Silent just wanted to like tear up a cute kitten in front of the girl...Show her that life isnt all sunshine and lollypops...But at the same time the damn stupid girl was so innocent and beautiful...Silent felt like she had to protect her...If for anything...Then for what she had done for Mahina and Coyote.

"Yea...I have no clue who she is."

LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!!

Sil would look down. What in the hell was she doing. She needed to give the kid a little hope. Dammint.

" I know who she is. I don't know her name. But my....Cousin...She is close friends with her."

Yea Silent wasnt gonna be like my packmate...Or say who she was...Just incase he was one of those anti others type people.

"If you want I can...I dunno..See if she will come down here one night for you?"

Oh god..She better not let the crow in on this whole thing..The woman would go all lady and the tramp on the hookah setting it up for some kind of romantic hell.

He felt his heart skip a beat when she said that she knew who the girl was. Even if the way she described her was less than flattering. It had to be the one. Solomon grabbed a receipt from his pocket and a pen and quickly scrawled out his name and the number at the motel in almost illegible handwriting. Finished he pushed the crumpled piece of paper across the counter to Silent.

"Just give her this. If she wants to call its up to her."

Solomon felt like he might be able to finally get some sleep. He had done what he could, and maybe that would be enough for the strange thing tugging at his insides. rising from the stool he turned to go, but only got a few steps. Pausing he thought, and then turned back to look at the bar owner.

"Thank you."

It was a simple response as they go, but for him it was a big deal. Even if no one knew. Finally he turned and this time actually left. At least now Silent knew his name was Solomon.

Silent heard that heart beat skip...Well she heard the quick pause while he held his breath as she discribbed the bubbly blond. And yes it wasnt the most flattering thing...But dammit thats the only way Silent could discribe her.But then again when did she ever explain someone in a flattering way?

Watching him as he wrote down his number she would go over his name in her head. He was no longer 'the kid'. He had a name...A very biblical name at that. SOL-Omen...Or thats how the name sounded in her name..Omen...Yes thats how she would remember him cause well he burnt her...And now that she thought about it...He kinda did resemble a certain...Actor in one of her favorite movies.

"Ya sure ya dont want her to just meet you her..No? Ok Ill make sure she gets it"

She would snatch up the paper and shove it in her back pocket. She would have to be sure to have Mahina bring it to the bubbly girl. Hands would move to rest on her hips...Wishing she could of given the kid something more..Like the number of his "friend" But she couldnt for the life of her figure out where the hell her black book of numbers was.

"No prob kid. I hope things work out for ya"

And he was gone...And Silent was left with half a list done on her invetory...That would be put off till tommorrow night. Grabbing up her bag she would follow out behind him locking up the hookah for the night. Or morning. Time to get into bed for a few hours before the rest of the pack house was up and doing their thing for the day.
