Keiko called Los Angeles to check in with Jacob. She did it because if she did not he would be calling her and since she was not in the rental….he had no way to contact her. The last thing she needed or wanted was Jacob getting on a plane to come find her. She waited patiently while his secretary put her call thru to him.

Jacob: “It’s about bloody damn time you got off your ass and called me woman!”

Keiko grinned as she spoke into the phone. His tone held a gruff affection. Keiko’s voice softened in amusement as she spoke to him. “Well I have been busy trying to settle in.”

There was a soft silence on the phone.

Jacob:  “Settle In?”

Keiko Sighed softly as she answered: “Yes settle in”

Jacob sighed heavily into the phone: “I had hoped you would say it was not what you were looking for and come home.” He paused slightly “I am going to miss you Keiko.”

Keiko replied just as softly “I am going to miss you too.”

Jacob nodded as he held the receiver tightly. He cleared his throat and moved onto business. “Guess who is coming to your neck of the woods?”

Keiko paused noting the change to his tone, it was his business boss voice. “who?”

Jacob’s voice almost purred in satisfaction. “Well I understand that the sequels to Illumination is Key is going to be filmed in Hawaii. They are still casting for it though. But you do realize that Mr Big Shot will be there as its star.”

Keiko laughed since so many of Hollywood’s actors were referred to that way. “Well I will be sure the studio knows that my services are available since I am already here. Is that what you were implying DAD.” She teased him since he was always trying to treat her like a teenager whose interests needed looking after. She shook her head at his high handedness.

Jacob chuckled “That’s my girl.” Keiko snorted on her end of the line. Silence stretched between and when he spoke again his voice was soft. “You will keep in touch and call if you need anything? Won’t you Keiko?”

Keiko smiled as she answered him just as softly “Yes Jacob I will. Goodbye.” She hung up the phone with a smile.
