When Brendan checked his messages for the evening, he was more than a little surprised that the guy who wanted a house keeper would come back at him so soon, though he was not complaining about that at all. His time at the restaurant had been cut short due in part because some oaf could not be bothered to look where he was going and thusly, keep out of Brendan’s way. The manager had said that he had made the restaurant look bad (in very different languages, most of which Brendan knew had to be vulgar) and then took him to the back and fired him after his shift was over.


That had been just fine with Brendan. After seeing some of the stuff that was pulled behind the scenes at that restaurant, he was sure it would close down in no time.

Turning on the radio to Hot Pleasure Seeker’s “ I Like the Boys “ , Brendan took his time listening to each question before calling back and answering.


1. What qualities do you possess make you feel cut out to be my housekeeper?

“ I’m a pretty clean. I know how to pick up after myself and I have no problem picking up after other people since that’s what this job requires. I’ll do the chores I’m asked to do and any others that need doing, plain and simple. “


2. Are there any general household chores that you prefer not to do, or prefer to do?


“ No. All chores are equal in my eyes. I prefer to do the all. “

3. Have you worked as a housekeeper in the past?


“ Only in the sense that I kept my room and my grandparent’s condo spotless. “

4. May I obtain written letters of recommendation from your references?


Brendan had to think about that. He went with the truth.

“ I don’t have any references. I just moved out here from Florida after my grandparents passed away on the fourth after the bombing. “

5. May I perform a background check on you by obtaining a copy of your driving record, do a background check, or drug screening?

“ Background check? Sure. “


6. How good are you at retaining a person's privacy and why do you feel it is important to do so for a client?

“ Nobody needs to know anything about the person I’m working for. Everyone has a right to privacy, no matter how rich or poor you may be. “


7 Were you interested in a flat fee for services rendered, or an hourly fee? Live out, or live in?


“ A flat fee’s fine, or whichever you prefer. If you’re comfortable with a live-in houseboy that would be just fine with me. I just really need this job man, seriously. I'll do whatever it takes. “


Anything to get him out of the dormitory.


Brendan hung up the phone, unsure of whether that would be good enough. He thought not, and sighed, and turned off the light before heading to bed.

.:Brandon had actually been home when the call came in from Brendan, having expected to receive the call a bit later in the week to allow the man to think about the position, and the requirements that were needed. Particularly the references, criminal background check, and drug screen. He didn't want any felons or druggies cleaning house for him, because his home contained some expensive items.

So he listened to the phone call, and the answers Brendan gave, checking them off on a list. Despite the fact that he was without references, he'd find out more about the applicant through a second interview to get a better feel for who he was. First impressions were lasting ones, but in Brandon's mind everyone deserved a chance. So it was arranged to meet at Paradise Falls Condos in the evening when Brandon got off work, to talk more about his future employ with the model.

"Be sure to bring your papers with you, the background check I'll have done by morning. The drug screen and all, you have to bring, and yourself of course. Look forward to meeting you then." said the Aussie, who would conduct the first face-to-face interview tomorrow. Then he would be able to better judge the person wishing to become his housekeeper. :.
