The cloud had started forming in the very early hours of the day. By the time the sun had peeked it's first rays over the horizon, it covered the entirety of Pearl Harbor and Honolulu, and was steadily growing larger. It's utterly black and growing quickly, with none of the usual signs of a normal thunderstorm. Blood red lightning raced across the sky and lashes at the ground randomly. Chaotic rains mingled with black hail fall unexpectedly for mere minutes before clearing up. People may initially believe it was one of the volcanoes acting up, what with the high temperature winds that accompanied the appearance of the cloud, but geologists reported no unusual tectonic activity. About midday, this message will come over the radios and television.
Wendy's face was hidden behind the hood of her rain breaker. She told the studio that she was the best suited for this task. To brave the fierce storms and broadcast to the islands. After-all she was a weather witch. Her element raged in the clouds over head. Nothing like what she's ever felt before. This was not something she could created. Hail beat at her back side, and nearly knocking out the cameraman that had been as brave as she was to face the insane storm. They were at the edge of it, and it was growing faster by the minute.
"This is Wednesday Puffin reporting from Honolulu. Right now a massive cloud is lingering over the island. Police say calls from worried residents began pouring in this morning. Witnesses say it looked like a large, dark rain cloud that initially started over the uptown area, and within' hours, the cloud spread. Now covering a large portion of the Pacific Ocean. People in the affected regions say it looks like the workings of an incredible thunderstorm There are strange weather events being linked to the cloud, including red lightning, black hail, and super-hot, gale force winds. Meteorologists remain baffled as satellite pictures and radar show the cloud continuing to expand. Experts say that at its current rate of travel, the entire ocean will be completely covered in just a matter of hours. Police are asking you to please remain indoors and not panic. The President has ordered the military to be on emergency alert, and they stand by powerless, forced to watch and wait. As the cloud continues to expand, many people are now placing spiritual significance on its appearance. Leaders from mainstream religion and apocalyptic cults are declaring it to be anything from Second Coming, to the grim consequence of man's abuse of nature. Fueling the speculation are reports from across the islands that the only light piercing this churning, inky, shroud are beams of sunlight, which are only falling on places of worship, all religions and denominations. As the cloud continues to expand across the ocean, the rest of the world looks on with growing concern. Japan and Russia have mobilized their armies, trying to prepare for something they've never seen before. Meanwhile..."
Her voice trailed off. The cloud moved in and the large golf ball sized hail beat at Wendy, causing her to stop. The cameraman moved back, and before he could lower the large equipment, it was attacked by hail and beaten by wind.
"Aaron! We have to go! Head back to the studio!"
Wendy called out in the gusting winds. Aaron nodded, one hand extended to Wendy as they raced back to the van. Wendy felt it was the statue. The one sitting in the work room. Whatever was in there with Llydia was pissed off. Didn't like it was going to be cast out. This wasn't good. She needed to hurry back to Thirteen Moons and help Blaise.
