-Since the morgue she hadn't been out much. So with her packaged fingers in hand she stopped first at the post office to make her anonymous delivery to Jane, and then on to the office of one star reporter. Pulling the Jeep into the parking lot she had her phone up to her ear and was already calling Faith.-

"I'm here to take you to lunch. Get your nosssse off the grindsssstone. If you're lucky we'll rob a bank after dessssssert."

Pencil number six had just found itself a new home in the ceiling, quivering in its spot before settling down like the five other pencils around it. Hey, everyone had their stress vices, this was Faith's. Since she couldn't smoke indoors, and damnit. That habit was also back. Maybe she wasn't supposed to quit after all. As pencil number seven was being prepped for launch, her phone rang. One handed, Faith dug the cellphone from under the pile of crap on her desk and pressed it to her ear, the pencil falling from her fingers when she heard that it was Shane.

Getting up from her desk, Faith peeked out the window that overlooked the parking lot and sure enough there was the Jeep. A cool shiver slid down her spine when she saw Shane (say that three times fast) behind the wheel. God but the woman made the word "Desert" sound positively naughty.

"Start the count down, I'll be out in two minutes and my nose will be right out."

Which meant she had one minute to make herself look presentable. Thank god her purse held just about everything. Digging out a packet of oil blotting sheets, she passed one of the nearly transparent pieces of  something over her skin. Blotting away just enough oil to allow herself  that "healthy glow" look instead of "oily teenager." A swipe of some gloss, a five second hair toss, and an exchange of her flip flops for a pair of peep toe pumps she kept in the large desk drawer for "meetings." A last once-over and Faith click clacked her way out to the parking lot towards the Jeep.

"Hey hot stuff? That's a mighty fine motor coach you got there, wanna to give me a ride?"
