:: Pink Jeep raced over the streets heading to Evie's apartment. She couldn't get Patsy to wake up early. That didn't stop Barbie from heading over to Evie's Getting Lacey's number and Dina's from Ash. Barbie was calling them now, on the way to Evie's apartment. Numbers dialed and messages were left. Each one was the same only the names were changed. They sounded something like:
"Hey, this is Barbie. I wanted to go shopping for Evie have a little girl time. Would you meet me at Nordstroms by the bay. Its the one near the really big water fountain. Lunch is on me, so come hungry!"
Hanging up, she removed her cell from the car charger and set it in her purse. Grabbing the small bag, shocking blue eyes behind a pair of large round dark tinted sunglasses. She was dressed in a set of white shorts, a blue striped nautical shirt with a matching pair of anchor earrings. On her wrist was a charm bracelet with anchors and all sorts of nautical things. Down to her shoes the theme followed. A pair of 7 inch wedge peep toe heels in blue and white stripes.
Locking the doors behind her. Barbie headed to Evie's floor and when she finally reached the door, it was given a few knocks.
"Evie! It's Barbie! Open up I'm taking you to go shopping! And don't pretend your not there I can smell you!"
It was cheating, sure. Barbie promised the girl she'd take her shopping and that's what she'd do.::
Evie had been enjoying one of those lazy days. The type were you sit in a pair of your loose, threadbare jeans with an old band t-shirt that belonged to someone else and a pair of socks that needed washing. She'd been so damn comfy, just sitting on her couch with a diet coke and popcorn from the night before. Ah, yes. This was the life.
Imagine her shock when a knock at the door was heard. Her first thought was, evil vampire! The sun shining through her french windows, however, shot that theory all to hell. The voice coming through the relatively thin wood, however, made her mouth fall. Oh, crap. Looks like Barbie had decided to keep her promise about the shopping thing. Something about buying a dress to make Marcus go crazy. Oh, shit. Shopping spree with Barbie, queen of the boobs and duchess of everything sexy. Evie was already blushing. So flustered was she, that she forgot to answer. But maybe f she stood very still -- And don't pretend you're not there I can smell you! Well, crap. The jig was up. "Oh! Oh, okay ..." Damn it. She had to go. Sighing, Evie went to the door, opening it.
Grey eyes appraised the lovely buxom blonde, probably four feet taller than the petite telemetric. Evie might have tried to get out of it, faking the bubonic plague or mad cow, or something. But she looked so happy, and matchy. How could she say no? Evie even smiled as she sighed, running a gloved hand through her hair. "Okay, okay. I'm your captive for the day." She grinned, opening the door. "Come on in, I'm just gonna .. grab some shoes." Or put on something that made her look less homeless.
Dina listened to the voicemail one more time before she deleted it and hung up her phone. Nordstrom's by the bay. With the really big water fountain.
Really big was an understatement. The thing was huge. Dina rested her hands on her hips, looking up at the structure, idly wondering how much it'd cost to put it in.
She was definitely not dressed super appropriate to go shopping at Nordstrom's. But she knew Evie's and her tastes ran the same track. They'd both probably look like a couple of hoodlums next to Barbie, if the other night was any indication of how she dressed all the time.
She was just in her usual jeans, with a pale yellow AC/DC shirt on that was covered in brown lettering. She had her hair down and uncovered for once, with those black and green Converse All Stars on her feet. Hands pushed deep into the pockets of her tailored faded blue jeans as she turned back around, keeping an eye out for Barbie and Evie. Her iPod was in her back pocket, playing all her songs randomly. The music floated out of the earphones that were hanging around her neck. She hated in-ear earphones, and liked the regular old fashioned ones, that way, she could still hear what was going on around her and her music too. That and if she wanted someone to hear what she was listening too, she could just lifted up the foam pads and they could both listen.
Dina looked back to the fountain again, humming to Wreckless Eric as she waited.
- Work had been long and now after having showered Lacey was wondering what she was going to do with the rest of her day. Walking toward her closet in only a towel when she heard the ring of her cell phone, it was probably her brother and at the moment she didn't wish to deal with him, he was being awfully stubborn lately and this day with the weather as beautiful as it was , was meant to be enjoyed not ruined by useless tears so she ignored it and went about the task of picking out a black skirt along with a green blouse that left the shoulders bare and with it would be a V that went down the middle of her back. The outfit in all was sexy not meant to offer up to much but enough to allow some wanting a bit more. After dressing a set of black heels were placed upon her feet and then moving to her mirror she would check her hair which she had decided to leave down, it was still wet and the breeze would feel nice. Why be denied of nature's good things when the chance arose and was out there for the taking.
A spin around would allow her a look to make sure all matched and that all was in place. So far so good, lip gloss that smelled of honey was pressed along the fullness of her lips, followed by small hoop earrings and a pinch to her cheeks to offer up some color. A beep came from her phone indicating that she had voice mail so Lace moved to retrieve it, after hitting the number one she waited for the voice mail and did a press of numbers to indicate her password. Eyes lit up when she heard the sexy voice over the phone "Barbie" thank heavens and it seemed she still wished to do that shopping spree. Lace didn't even let the message finish she had heard the meeting spot so she had closed the phone and then reopening it she sent a quick text to Barbie.
" I'm already there, can't wait!."
Phone was shut and then shoved into a purse that lie along her bed, when purse was secured around her shoulder she headed out of her room and paused a moment at Vinny's door. A knock and then the door was thrown aside and with that open of the door she would see him there sleeping in his bed. A soft smile was granted followed by a whistle and in she headed toward the bed. Pausing she leaned over to pull the blanket up and over him, it seemed the bear had fallen asleep in his clothes. Must have been a long night, a shrug to herself and leaning in she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek and then headed out quickly not wishing to wake him up.
On her way out she waved to a few she saw in the halls and then before she knew it she was hailing a cab and then was dropped off at the meeting spot. Upon leaving the cab she spotted Dina and waved out to her before calling out her name.
" Dina!, hey there. How are you?.."
She came over to her and offered the girl a hug, Lace was in a good mood today and couldn't wait to get the shopping spree started. It be nice to see Evie and to meet up with Barbie who she had liked instantly upon first meeting her and her mate Milo.
:: Seeing Evie in her state of dress was going to give Barbie a heart attack. Oh that wasn't going to do at all! Following Evie into her room. Barbie went straight for the closest. Looking through piles of jeans and jeans and some sweats and some over sized shirts. It looked like Barbie was going to have to buy Evie a brand new wardrobe. a light at the end of the tunnel there was this really pretty yellow sundress! Two black ones stuffed nearly in the back covering the yellow one. Pulling the sun dress down. Surprised it didn't have the tags on it still.
"Evie! You've had this beautiful dress and I have never seen you wear it!"
Scolding the girl who was like a little sister to Barbie. After all Evie was tied to Marcus and Ash in a way that she didn't understand. Even when Milo explained it a little bit. Whatever it was Barbie only knew that Evie was family. Looking through the shoes she would find the yellow flats to match the dress. Flats were in, especially in the summer.
"Put it on."
The dress and shoes were set next to Evie. A finger pointed at her.
"No lip little lady."
Phone was ringing letting Barbie know she had a text message. Checking it, it was from Lacey. Turning away she would text back to Lacey they were on the way. After Evie got dressed, and Barbie styled the girl's hair some, they were headed to the mall to meet with everyone and the stylist she had hired for the day. Mary Sunshine was the woman's name.
Dina and Lacey were there more than likely chatting up a storm. Kisses and hugs were given to each. Arm across Lacey's waist and one around Evie's shoulders. Barbie was careful not to let any emotion but pure happiness touch Evie. Then again, Barbie was nothing more than happy to be doing this.
"We're meeting my stylist Mary in the store. Come on. I'm getting each of you a little smething."
A glance to Dina. Brow quirked in wonder. Maybe she would get Dina a little something extra too. That girl had such a beautiful complexion. Into the store they would go.::
It was a little bit embarrassing to have Barbie rummaging through her clothing. She was the type of girl to buy a bunch of the same casual tops in every different color. Target was her life. And here was the queen of matching tops and shoes, a glamorous goddess in four-inch heels. Evie felt like she'd invited a duchess into Oliver Twist's closet. At least there was one dress -- one that Barbie insisted she wear.
"Really, I was just gonna wear--" No lip little lady. Her mouth closed with a click of her teeth, a small half-grin forming. She gave a navy salute in silent response before snagging the dress and shoes, making her way to the bathroom. She was a modest girl, Ms. Evie North. Kicking her discarded jeans and t-shirt into a pile in the corner, Evie straightened her dress, smoothing some of its wrinkles with her black-gloved hands. She really needed to take better care of her stuff. Oh, well. T-shirts never wrinkled. Stepping out, she slid her olive-skinned feet into the yellow flats, rocking back onto her heels. "So ... ready to go?"
Of course not. There was still hair to be styled. Evie put up with it all, moving between scowls to smiles. She couldn't help that she wasn't a girly girl, but she enjoyed Barbie's company. When she was finally presentable, the two were off to meet Dina and Lacey.
Once they arrived, Evie was all smiles and waves, only mildly sullen. "Hey, guys." Turning on her heel, Evie looked up -- way up -- at Barbie, making herself look very stern. "We're only getting one dress. The dress you mentioned before." Looking at them all, Evie crossed her arms, lips quirking into a half-grin, half-sneer. "This isn't My Fair Lady, okay? It's just a dress." Although she couldn't help but kinda enjoy herself. She'd never been shopping with the girls before. This must be what normal people did.
Dina turned at the sound of her name and smiled when she saw Lace. The hug offered was taken as the taller girl bent down to hug the woman.
"'ey'm fine. 'ow ye doin'?" She asked, hands moving to the pockets of her jeans. They managed to get in a quarter of a conversation more before Barbie arrived with Evie in tow. Wearing a yellow dress. A yellow sundress. Lips pressed tightly together as she looked down at Evie, doing all within her power not to laugh. She knew Barbie must've made her wear it. Not that it looked bad. It looked great on her, actually. It was just something you didn't expect to see on her, that was all.
Dina was once again overtaken by hugs and kisses, no less by the beautiful Barbie. She watched Barbie take Lace and Evie on either side, and smirked, moving up next to Evie with her hands moving back to her pockets. They started for the store, and Dina couldn't help but think they were stepping into the mouth of the dragon.
