He sat at his desk. The whizzing noise of one of the mechanical robots moved in a slow flip. The flashing pale blue lights with the noise was a comfort. One hand lifted from the desk to scratch at his head, the spot behind his ear and closer to the temple. Adam had asked him to tutor Kylie. Jason pushed the robot away, making the robot do a funny upset noise. Jason smiled a little. At least the AI he put in it works. He was worried he got the calculations wrong.
A stack of books in his arms, he headed over to the main house from his work shop/place. Jude lived with him there. Even though they didn't work together anymore, he was still close to his brother. They talked everyday about nearly everything. Jude was safe here. Jason knew Adam would keep them safe and away from their parents. Jude wouldn't ever be locked up and mistreated, ever again.
Toe tapped against the stoop of the main house. The dirt shifted and fell from the bottom of his sneakers to the mat. The left foot tapped at the stoop now. He edged his steps from where the dirt had fallen and walked into the house from the back. Beast and nose guiding him. The scents were inhaled, taking in that of a human that had recently visited. All the scents were taken, and set in folders in his mind. Attaching face to smell and so on.
A knock on Kylie's door.- "Kylie, This is Jason. Adam told you about me? Said I was supposed to tutor you?" -He asked the question. Jason's voice was sort of hushed. He barely spoke louder than he needed to. Pushing the door open a little, he peered in. Hoping she was in a descent state of dress. Didn't matter if Kylie was a lycanthrope or not. He was walking into a lady's room. His mother had taught him manners. It was not polite.
Big blue eyes peered into her room carefully.- "I wanted to ask you what you have learned. That what I know what to teach you. Could you meet me in the dinning room? We can talk there." -Jason wasn't going to teach her in her room. It would be intrusive to her privacy.
She was sketching again. Working up a new design for yet another cat peice. Instead of lions this time, she was doing tigers. But getting the stripes just right, was hard. They had to be shapes she could cut. With a growl of annoyance she flopped over onto her back, stareing up at the ceiling, when the knock at the door sounded.
Blinking she sat up. "Yeah?" Hearing Jason, she smiled. Yeah she remebered Adam telling her about him. leaving her sketch pad and pencils, she bounced to the door, and pulled it open, smileing at him. It was nice he was bein so polite. When he asked her to go with him to the dinning room, she nodded her head and followed, Soon plopping down into a chair, legs crossed under her. The question of what she'd learned had her blinking, and thinking back.
"Well...I haven't been in school since i was 14...I was half way through my freshman year when my dad pulled me out of school."
She fiddled with the ring on her index finger, wriggling her nose a minute. Thinking back.
"So....I'd started Biology....i was doing algebra...umm...American Studies...and just starting English...does that help?"
It was still hard to accept the fact that she was going to get to learn stuff again. So long had her father and brother told her she was stupid, and the girls wern't smart enough to learn things, had been in her head, that after awhile, you just give up and belive it. They said she had ADD and a learning disability. She looked up at Jason, pushing red hair back.
"They told me when i was younger that i have ADD, and some sort of learning disability...it takes me longer to learn things, and i learn better when it's hands on...i don't know if that changes anything..."
