Lounging on the sofa in the living room of the pack house, Lexi toyed with her phone. A faint frown was on her face as she calculated the time difference.
Finally, she flipped the slim black bit of technology open and searched through her contact list. Stopping on the number for the lycan clinic back in Salem, thumb moved to press the send button. Phone was lifted to her ear to wait out the ringing.
When an answer came, it was not the handsome little fox that she was hoping for. Some pleasantries were exchanged before she convinced them that she was, indeed, a friend of Sean's and could be entrusted with his number.
The number she'd been given was hastily dialed after ending her call to the clinic. Fingers tapped along her thigh as she waited. A frown of disappointment appeared when she got the answering service.
Beep.
"Sean, love, this is Lexi. How have you been? I understand you're busy with school at the moment, but I wanted to invite you to come down to Hawaii. I'll buy your ticket and get you to the pack house, you just say the word. You can reach me at the pack house (insert number) or on my cell (insert number). I'd love to hear from you. Ta-ra, love!"
Phone snapped closed and she went back to channel surfing to find something interesting to watch.
+Two week till schools out, one week till schools out, six days till schools out. Sean was counting the hours and minutes until school would be over. It was the only real reason he had stayed behind when the pack left. He was missing them like crazy. Especially the other foxes. When he got the news that Lola had gone back to Alaska he was sad, especially because he knew he wouldn't get to see her again to say goodbye. Working at the lycan clinic took up his nights and school took up his days and studying took up every moment in between. When Lexie called he got excited.+
"Hey Lex! Send me that plane ticket! I have two more days of finals and then I am ready to come home."
+Home of course being where the pack was.+
"I already asked Jessie to transfer me to the clinic on the island. So I'm all set. Can you pick me up at the airport? Call me back. Can't wait to see you."
+At the end of the message he even made a big kissy noise before going back to reading the Blade comic he had at the reception booth with him.+
The discordant jangling of her phone tugged at the sleeping vixen, but alas, she missed the call. Rubbing a hand over her eyes, she hit the button to see who it was and listen to the voicemail.
A grin appeared, wiping the idea of going back to sleep right out of her mind. There were arrangements to be made now.
Soon enough, she'd made arrangements and was calling Sean back.
"Sean, dear, it's Lexi. Everything is in order. The ticket will be waiting for you when you get to the airport. US Airways, first class. Flight leaves at 7:57am on Wednesday from Boston with a connecting flight in Denver. I'll be waiting for you at the airport in Honolulu when you land at roughly 3pm."
A silent chuckle. Yes, she'd gotten him a first class seat. After all, she had the money for it and it wasn't likely that there would be screaming children in first class. One small blessing she could give him since it was a long trip.
"We'll see you soon. Ta-ra, love."
With the call finished, she went to post a note on the fridge where the entire pack could see it.
'Darlings, Sean will be coming home on Wednesday. If anyone would like to come with me to meet him at the airport, let me know. xoxo Lexi'
