After their romp at the park, Alex had loaded Helix up in the camero, and the two had headed home. Car parked near Ash's hummer, looking so beat up and worn next to the big shiney thing, she smiled and just shook her head. LEtting Helix run up the steps to the door and she let herself and him inside. Into the kitchen to see if there was anything to munch on, and finding a note pad on the counter, she scribbled a note to Ash.
Ash~
Met a new wolf at the park tonight. Said her name was Lokelani somethin...Can't remeber the last name, and i don't think i could spell it if i could remeber. Anyway. She said to let you know she was in town..buuut...Don't think she's planning on joining the pack.....She knows me...From Madrid. Come find me when you got a chance, I'll tell you what i can remember about her.
Alex
Finding tape, she moved to his bedroom door, tapeing the note to the door frame so he'd see it when he got up and came out. Half tempted to go and crawl into the puppy pile that she knew would be on the bed, she hesitated, and finally moved upstairs to her room. She was still afraid she would be rejected sometimes. And that sucked. Closing herself and Helix into her room, she was soon curled up on her bed, music playing softly in the background, and Helix curled up at her side, and soon both had passed out.
When Ash awoke the light of day was just peeking through the window, turning his head to the side he looked at the clock which read 5am. Even when the alarm wasn't set he had a tendency to just wake at the same time every day. Lucky him. The night before had been insane. Shane had attacked Juran in the park and Ash had to bargain with her for the mans life. Even though he wasn't pack Ash couldn't let him die. Any normal boogey man would have just killed Juran no doubt, but Shane knew where to hit him. She would get her answer to what was a very deadly question, and he got Juran still alive. Much worse for wear though.
Getting home that night he had tucked Juran into bed with himself, Memphis, Lyric, Lou, Vinny, Silent, and Cliff. Just one big pile of mostly naked bodies whose warmth would help heal him. Cliff snored which was the only drawback, but Silent had bought him some of those nightime nasal strips. Since then things had improved immeasurably.
The night had not ended however with only that one strange occurance. Evie had contacted him through the marks just as he was taking Jurans comatose body away. When he finally got to where she was he was surprised to find her and another wolf, both in various states of undress. Definetly must have been something in the water that night, he would say a full moon but knew that wasn't the cause.
So it was that when Alex came along Ash had already left for his morning jog through what Evie had dubbed the fungle. Something that cleared his head at the start of everyday, especially after nights like the last. When he arrived back at his room he pulled the taped note from the door, reading it with just the promise of a smile on his face. Alex was a good wolf. He was proud that she had thought to let him know, and it was something he would not forget. Bypassing the shower for a moment he flipped the note over and set it on the kitchen counter, a pen taken from a drawer so he could write a quick response.
Alex, I have already been introduced to this Loke and know a bit of her history myself. I would love to know what you know of her as well. I have to work today but call me when you get this and we can go to lunch.
Ash
It wasn't exactly Dickens but it would do. Climbing the stairs he went to Alexs room, easing the door open to look in at where she and Helix were sleeping. The dog lifted a tired head but made no sound, tail swishing against the sheets. On silent feet he moved towards her and pasted the stick-it paper to her bedside table. Leaning over the bed he placed a small kiss on her temple, brushing aside the blonde hair that had fallen into her face. And then there was nothing to do but go downstairs to get ready for another day of work.
Alex woke quite a few times that night, after going to bed. Finally she gave up around 9. Sitting up, she leaned against the headbored for a few minutes, looking down at Helix as he flopped around, wanting to play.
"you....are too damn cheerful in the morning..you know that right?"
Shakeing her head, she rubbed his head and belly, and got up, seeing the sticky note, she grinned, and grabbed her phone, calling Ash. When he picked up she had to smile. always so serious!
"Got your note. I only remeber bits and peices of Loke, but I'll tell you what i know. Where you want to meet for lunch?"
