-Unlike Tommy and Sera the statue didn't give her the creeps. She found it a really interesting pievce of work, and in searching to find out how to undo the spell she was eager to learn how to do the spell in return. It might come in handy as a bit of defensive magic. Blaise had had Tommy move the statue into the back room which was where she and Wendy did their work for the shop, as well as their own more private interests. At the moment she was walking around the jade figure with her cell phone and a slip of paper in her hand.-
-Speaking to Ash Redfern she had learned who the statue was of and some interesting lycan tidbits that might be helpful. She had also made sure to get the information on the people who had given him the statue. Licking her fire engine rd lips she finally paused and flipped open her phone to dial the number from the slip of paper. Getting an answering machine she left a message.-
"Miss Izzano this is Blaise Harmon. I am in possession of a jade statue that I understand belongs to you."
-Her voice was all American in accent but sounded a bit like something from an anime. High pitched and airy. At odds with the strong firey prescence of hers.-
"I need to know where the statue was sent from. Where this happened if possible, and if you know anyone who was there for the incident that would be helpful as well. Call me back whenever you have time."
-Blaise had learned not to rush in where magic was concerned. You could often do more harm than good. She would find out all she could first and then armed with knowledge she would seek an answer. Maybe try to bring an Earth witch in on this if she could find one.-
Dina was rifling through her mother's desk, a desecration of sorts. She'd never messed with her desk before, but damn it, she had to find the reports.
"All you had to do was ask."
Startled icy blues looked up from the drawer they'd been delving in to see Aryca standing in the frame of the doorway. Dina straightened, shutting the drawer. She waited for her to start her lecture. But she didn't look angry. A bemused expression crossed her young features as she realized her Ma looked, well, sad. She shrugged her shoulders, shifting her weight.
"You are looking for the reports correct?"
Dina nodded. She'd gotten the voice mail from Blaise Harmon and had immediately gone into the office to hunt down any and everything she needed. Apparently Ma had listened to it as well.
Aryca entered the room, and made her way to the desk, pulling open the very drawer she'd been looking through. It only took her a few seconds to pull out a couple of manilla folders. One was Dr. Suresh's interpretation of the text that may have caused the problem, and the other was a military report on the incident, written by Corporal Darius Keyes. Dina accepted them, looking into her Ma's matching blue eyes.
"'m sorry. Didnae t'ink ya'd give 'em to me."
Aryca just shook her head, stepping away and over to a bookshelf. "Dina, Llidya is not only your biological mother, but my sister. I'll do whatever is necessary, even if it doesn't seem like I care." It was defense mechanism, really. The coldness of her manner and how she acted. She began to idly straighten the books, making sure the shelf looked as neat as possible.
Dina nodded, watching her a moment before rounding the desk. They hadn't spoken much since the other day. And she didn't feel like now was a good time either. Dina pulled her cell phone from her pocket, along with a card. The number was dialed, and voicemail was reached as the elevator started it's descent.
"Hey, Mr. Redfern...it's Dina. I'm goin' t'e T'irteen Moons wit' some stuff. I jus' t'ought I'd letcha know if'n ya wanted t'e meet me t'ere...an' bring me my bag maybe?" Dina shook her head, she was taking too long. "Any'ow I guess'll talk to ye soon." She hung up the phone quickly, sliding it back into her pocket. The elevator dinged and she stepped out, hugging the two folders close to her chest.
The phone call from Dina caught him just as he was leaving the station and he stopped to check his watch before climbing into the H2 out in the parking lot. He was eager to get home and spend a little quality time with the family especially after all the recent crisis, but the girl did need her bookbag. At least the was the excuse he was using to go meet her. Flipping open his phone he pulled out of the parking lot and started in the direction of Thirteen Moons. Dinas phone rang several times and then went to voicemail.
"I'm on my way to the shop. It's close so I can meet you out front if you want. I've got the bag with me," There was a long pause. "Can't wait to see you."
And he realized as he hung up the phone that it was true. He was happy to be seeing the odd young girl again. To spend time in her company and find out more about her. It was troublesome. His life was no place for the young. Being close to him was not a safe place to be. He even worried at times about his close friendship with Evie. Trying not to worry about it he just drove and listened to Pavarotti, calming his nerves and preparing for whatever the witches of Thirteen Moons had to say about the statue.
