Calling Cypress - The Skoll is needed
Permalink Closed

Who do you call when the big bad happens to fuck your world up and you can't get to your Ulfric and cant depend on your Lupa? Memphis had been called already. He was coming, rushing to the rescue and aid of his pack mates and the woman who claimed a small part of his life as her own. Cypress was not someone Kota knew all to well, but the few times they had crossed paths the affection she had for Ash, was clear. The woman would not leave them alone when they needed the protection. Hands shaking, trying to get her lap top set up so she could do the job Ash had set before her. Still with all that happened and all the doubt she had about everyone in the pack. Ash was her boss and he had given her orders. God Praise her sense of duty and loyalty to the badge she carried... And that stubborn Irish Pride! Every pack members name and number were loaded in to the address book of her phone. Cypress was Number four on that list... soon she would be number three. No reason to keep someone on speed dial who would not help them. Weather it was a voice mail message or not... the same message would be relayed. God she prayed she had a real person to talk to.
"Cypress, We need you. This is Dakota, We have one pack member dead, murdered last night. Two in the hospital right now, nearly killed together. Vampire attacked us... Memphis is on his way to the clinic, Silent... did nothing. Ash is away with work right now... And I can't protect them if this woman finds me. I need to stay away from everyone. Can you please come?"
The sound in her voice was on the edge of tears! She was terrified that the bitch would find her, Come and finish the job she had started on the two wolves who now lay burned and broken in hospital beds.

Cypress had been enjoying herself, until recently. It was not the death of a pack member, or even the insanity that had befallen the pack as a whole. It was Ash. She felt him on that plain of existence. The same ties that Brady and she held with him. He was troubled. White wolf eyes turned to Brady, staring into the depths of them. He knew as well as she, that they needed to return.

The call from Dakota had gone unanswered. Brady and she were on the way home. Everything was gathered, collecting mail and everything from their last stop. A trip cut short. Cypress knew where her loyalty lay, it was not in just Brady and Ash. There was others. The mail had been tossed, the letter from Silent there, Cypress could smell the stench of the swamp on the paper. No matter how many hands had touched it, the smell was still there.

A flashing of red, the beeping of her cell phone, telling Cypress she had a missed call. This time it was not from Lyric, checking up on her. It was Dakota. The Vagamore of the pack. A strange feeling crossed her then, her heart sank, and she sent her wolf out. Sent it to search for Ash, for her King of Silver. She needed to know he was there, a live and well. When the rusty red of her wolf brushed the silver lining of her King's hitchhiker, Cypress knew that the danger was not with him. One hand reaching out to touch the warmth of her Golden King's back, as the message played.

The voice on the other end did not sound like the same woman Cypress knew. What little knowledge of Dakota that Cypress knew, this was not her. Tears, she could hear threatening Dakota's voice, the sanity being held by pure pride and a will. Emotions Cypress understood all too well.

"Silent... did nothing."

That statement alone, made the blood boil. Made the hard earn control of her emotions break.

Cypress closed the phone, placing it in the pocket of Brady's pants. She turned her eyes, absent of color to her Golden King. Fingertips he brushed along her cheeks, soothing the anger that boiled beneath the surface. He understood her now. They had shared moments of joy, of sorrow, and pureness that no other could break. He was her King of Gold, as Ash was her King of Silver. They; only two men who gave her another reason for life. A purpose.

That purpose was being threatened. Ash had given her a home, a life, a family. Alone so long, being what she was, Cypress learned to distance herself from everyone. He, her King of Silver broke through it all, broke through her and given her the most precious of gifts. A home, people, and a place that she could call her own.

Cypress would be there soon. Soon to the people who had crawled under her skin, who slowly made her feel as if she was truly welcomed. Ash had been the first, Lyric, Memphis with his wild shirts and often teasing her, and Lola with her bubbliness. The rest followed in a slow order, the last was Dakota. Now, more so she felt that this woman was pack. Earned it in protecting what Ash called family. What she now understood, with Brady's help, what it meant to be united with people that called each other pack mates.

Silent's letter was left unread and disregarded. Dakota's words echoed in Cypress mind, feeding that cold anger that she possessed. A demon that even Cypress feared at times.

"Silent... did nothing."
