6am appointment with Marshall Redfern.

Memphis was at work, Between the cab fairs and the lounge her dashing man was so busy she hardly saw him. Staying home most of the day had become nerve racking the delicate emotional state at present was not helping matters at all. Last night had been spent digging though her records and serves jacket making sure everything was in order. The small attached file held all work done on an International level with Interpol, Scotland-Yard and The South African Consulate when one of the ambassadors secretaries had been murdered in New York. It was all there, Case history, the small portion of reprimands given, mostly all for bending the rules a bit with convictions as results. The psychiatrists report after the shooting in Brooklyn, and the attack in London. Citations for out standing conduct, Valor and all the other spiffy stuff that gets a beat cop off the streets and in to an office with the rank of Detective.
Crawling out of bed at 5am, lifting the strong arm that draped over her trying not to wake the handsome man curled up beside her. God she did not want to leave the bed, not when she could lay there with Memphis a little longer. The faint kiss pressed to his lips brought a smile to her face, this is what it felt like to be in love with someone? "See you latter handsome." The kiss placed upon his those thin lips, another upon his brow and left him sleeping peacefully. The blue ford ranger started with a purr, the ignition kicking over till it hummed. She listened for a moment, then hit the radio pushing in a flogging molly CD.
The drive was peaceful, yet Kota found herself trying to go over in her head everything she was going to need to go over, paper work to be filled out. Once a cop always a cop they say. Her life even after retiring from the force had revolved around detective work as a PI. Finding a parking spot was not to hard. By the end of the day she would never have trouble finding a parking spot again. Sometime the job was messy, but little things took some of the edge off. Stepping out of the truck, the twin colt's were holstered in the shoulder rig, light weight jacket was pulled over them to concealed them from sight. For a Cop... she was a hotty apparently and could make a pair of black jeans and button up blouse look like she was dressed to go to the club.
Just past the front door, the Sergeants desk presented itself with a round bald guy standing behind the desk with a half eaten donut sticking out of his mouth. Papers being shuffled around from bin to be sorted in to a hand full of others. Some going up to Robbery/Homicide. Special Victims unit, Felony Assault cases, misdemeanor drug charges, Rape, Home invasion, Distribution, possession, Warrens office. So many crimes and the lucky handful of officers who get to take care of the starting process to catch the bad guys. All of a sudden he stopped shuffling documents, the pastry fell out of his mouth and he was fumbling to clean it all up. Sometimes... men are so predictable!
"Morning Sergeant, Could you please tell Marshall Redfern that Detective Marc is here to see him... "
