Fingers flew over the keyboard of her laptop, feet kicking slowly in the air to occasionally tap against denim shorts-clad rear. Gray hoodie was a cozy warmth about her torso. Chocolate browns skimmed over the notes that lay beside her on the bed before she returned to her typing. The sound of claws in fabric had her reaching a hand down the side to lift first one, then another, gray-furred body onto the bed. The kittens, Mayhem and Chaos, wanted to curl up with their 'mommy' while she did her homework. That same free hand reached behind her to hold the hood up for the two kitties to crawl into. It was one of their favorite places to sleep, which made sleep for her rather interesting.

With a final satisfied tap, the paper was finished and saved. She'd need to print it out later, but that could wait for now. However, double checking the papers she'd graded for Beaver, couldn't. So, that's what she turned her attention to. Of course, while attempting to do this, her mind went back to the rumors that were being spread about her. She still hadn't figured out what she'd done to deserve having rumors started about her, and that bothered her more than she wanted to admit. Sure, she'd been teased and picked on in school, but this was the first time that she'd heard rumors about herself.

A soft grumble passed her lips and she scooped the papers into a nice neat little pile before getting up. The kittens gave a soft protest until they'd gotten comfortable in this new position. Ponytail was taken down so that she could drape her hair over the hood, effectively hiding the furry bodies since she'd be leaving her room.

"You two stay quiet, okay?" No answer came. Not that she had expected one since they'd worn themselves out playing all morning.

Slipping out of her room, she closed the door behind her before going to check and see if Tommy was around. First place to look? Why, his room, of course. So she headed that direction, stopping in front of the door to gently rap her knuckles against it. Hands, wrapped around the papers she'd carried with her, were stuck behind her back while she waited to see if there would be an answer to her knock. If there wasn't, she'd go searching the rest of the house. Hopefully, he would be around here somewhere.

Any time besides the full moon Tommy was usually only found at the Loft he shared with Beaver, so it was pure luck that he was at the Clan House that day. Sitting on the edge of the bed, legs curled under him as he leaned over a tray table. He was working on a new card trick, but was finding it more difficult than he had believed. When the knock came at the door he said loudly.

"Tommy's room of incompetence, come on in!"

It was said in frustration and the moment he looked up and saw Valerie coming in he blushed, embarassed by his initial words.

"Sorry about that, I'm just....well....nevermind. Come on in and pull up a chair. I could use the company."

Hands raked back through the tangle of those dyed brown curtains of hair, pulling them out of his face and then letting them fall into place again.

Room of incompetence? Chocolate-browns blinked a couple times before she gave a gentle shake of her head and let herself into his room. That usual shy little smile was offered to him as she moved on over to take a seat on the floor by the bed so that she could lean against it. The leaning was careful so that she didn't disturb the sleepers in her hood, but even so they gave a soft 'mew' which she tried to hide by clearing her throat.

"What's all that for?" A motion of her hand toward the tray table. The papers she'd been holding were set beside her so that she could peer up at the cards and give him a sideways glance. Yes, definitely oggle-worthy.

Foot slid, knocking the papers over, which she quickly put back in a neat little stack. "Oh, uhm.. could you give these to Professor Clarendon? You'll probably see him before I will and I've got an appointment on Monday so I won't be able to leave them on his desk like I usually do..." Rambling much? Yep. So she hushed and waited for his answer.

Fingers lifted to push auburn strands behind her ear.
