A Letter for Marcus
Permalink Closed

-Adam and Sera had explored 13 Moons, for a few minutes, debating and talking about the Horde and much other things. The store, Adam said called to her, wanted her. Sera didn't think it did. But being in there had made her feel as if that was true. So, after choices, and a mental debate with herself, Sera agreed to help the Horde and to ask Marcus if the store was for sale. Since, he was the Master of the City, and this store was a Mysical place, he would know. Bliss was were the letter was dropped off, Bruno handled the piece of paper in such a delicate way, as if it would crumble in his hands. Inside the words were written in a girly script.-

Dear Marcus,
I'm finally back in Salem after my father's wedding and the month long honeymoon his wife thought he needed. I want to see you as soon as you have the time. I have missed all of you very very much. Let me keep this short, and sweet.

Adam, the new Khan, has asked me to be Radha, of his Horde. I have agreed, yet still seek your advice on the matter. He is such a nice man, and I feel some sort of attachment to him. While we talked, about this, I fell into 13 Moons. Litterly, I fell in. The door was left open, and I fell.

Anyway, I wanted to know if 13 Moons is for sale. I really like this shop. It felt good to be inside it. Safe, even in all the dust. Even if it's not for sale, or the owner doesn't wish to sell it. Is there a way for me to work there? Adam, said it was a shame such a place was left to go to waste like that. I agree.

Please get back to me as soon as you can.

Love always,
Sera.

-Her name was followed by a set of hearts, and a smily face. Inclosed with the letter was the motel and room number she was currently staying in. Since all her stuff from home was still being brought over. Here was hoping to find an apartment before her stuff arrived.-

::::All day long the blazing midsummer sun beat down upon the square miles of the city. Turning sidewalks into glistening surfaces on which an egg could be fried, making grass dry and brown where no sprinklers eased the damage. But night, ah glorious night was a time when things cooled, when the breeze from the water washed the city in it's easy grasp. Overhead the summer sky blazed with stars, constalations telling a story these modern people no longer bothered to translate. It was this time that woke the undead from their sleep, and when they rose Marcus felt each of them somewhere inside the glorious pool of his mind. Shakti's bright bubbling prescence as light and gay as a pixie. Amber like soft moonlight at the edge of his mind unobtrusive and delicate. And Roman, a hard stern prescence like tempered steel. Somewhere out there no doubt Lash was waking as well to roam the night intent on her own always mysterious pursuits.
His own days of wandering about fruitlessly were long over, turned into what seemed to be a circuit racing from one crisis to the next. There were times when he really had to wonder if it had all been worth it. If somewhere between New Orleans and Salem he had traded his soul for his families safety, had traded his life for their freedom. It was not that he regretted it for a moment, because whatever had been traded the reward was clear to see. They were safe, all of them, Milo, Jessie, and Shakti. The ones who had fled the swamps of the South with him for a brand new life. They were safe and whats more they prospered richly, growing and flourishing in the world they had each made here in Salem. And so whatever he had given up to get them here was not worth dwelling on.
Shuffling through the paperwork on his desk he let the thoughts drift away from his mind, finding them at times just a bit too poignant, too personal, and too painful. There was a soft knock at the door just before it opened and Bruno stuck his head inside. For such a large machine of a man Bruno was surprisingly delicate in his movements, as though he had been dropped into that large body quite against his will and by accident. The letter he carried in his hand was given over with a smile and then he spoke into the walkie talkie he was carrying. Sometimes Marcus swore that the men who worked at Bliss were nothing more than ex-boyscouts playing at being grown ups. Telling Bruno to wait outside until he finished he motioned that the man could leave.
After Bruno left him Marcus lifted the beautiful letter opener from his desk that had been a gift from Patsy, dragging it's blade across the envelopes edge to open it, surprised at what the letter revealed. Sera was back in Salem it seemed, and not only that but she was already settling in quite well. Pulling a blank vellum sheet of paper towards him he lifted his pen and paused only a moment to think before writing in that elegant script::::

Dearest Sera,
I am delighted to find that you have found yourself back in Salem once again. There will always be a home for you here in the city. I have met the new Khan Adam and am much impressed with both his power and the seeming sincerity in the man. It is my opinion that you should have no reason to mistrust him. Our local Ulfric, one Ash Redfern, speaks quite highly of the mans nature and personality. Ash is a person who I trust implicitly so I take his opinion in such matters to be of a nature most trustworthy. Therefore have no fear piccollo una, and simply enjoy these new acquaintances of yours.
As to the condition of Thirteen Moons. Miss Leilani Benton, a woman of your acquaintance was leasing the space from me and had I suppose an intention of one day buying it. However there has been a bit of mystery surrounding the disappearance of Miss Benton. There is none in Salem who can do anything but speculate as to her where abouts or what befell her. Was she spirited away? Did some harm come to her? Or did she simply leave in the night, telling noone, and leaving her things behind? Several searched for the answers to these questions but all have come up emptyhanded. One resident who is I believe familiar to you as well is a Miss Mary Jane Bradshaw. She went in search of Miss Benton and returned to Salem some three months later I believe with only vague tales of a goosechase as reward for her search.
Since I was quite fond of Leilani, the one our Milo called Glenda, I did not clear her things away from the shop or the lighthouse. I have kept everything locked up and much as it was since the day that she disappeared in the hopes that like so many others her path would one day again cross with ours. Though I admit that as weeks have turned into months and many of them at that I begin to believe that she is gone for good. But were she here to decide this matter I believe she would be happy to know that another who was gifted was carrying on the torch. She believed in her magic, and I dare say I believe in yours. So it is with best wishes for your future enterprise that I send this deed, the one Miss Benton was never able to sign in the hopes that Thirteen Moons shall flourish and be a place of mystery again under your hands.
Sign your name and send the deed back with Bruno, and keep the keys that are enclosed in this envelope. They not only open the front door, but also the padlock to the cellar where Leilani worked with her herbs, and to the padlock on the back room where I believe she worked in some areas of magic that are more suited to darker practitioners. On this matter I shall give you one final piece of advice. DO NOT open the back room without a competent magic practitioner of some nature there to assist you, or at the very least find a paranormal who will be able to tell you what you can expect past the door before you open it. As to a transaction of payment I say not to worry about that for now. You are Horde now. I will discuss such things with your Khan. There are things more precious than gold and silver that can be bartered.
And so it is that I am delighted to welcome you home, I hope to stay. Don't be a stranger fiore dulce. I am where I have been these last six months since your departure. Come see me and let me delight in the tales of your travels.

                                                                 Riguardi Pił Caldi,
                                                                               Marcus Valerius

:::It took only a moments searching at his desk drawers to find the deed to Thirteen Moons, this and the small set of keys was slid into the envelope along with the letter, then he pulled a wax tab from his drawer and held it over the candle that burned on his desk, waiting until the wax had melted slightly before using it to seal the thick cream colored envelope. The wax was stamped with a symbol like a cross ringed by three intertwining circles. Once it was all finished he pressed the button on his phone that would call Bruno. The letter would be given to the man with explicite instruction to take the letter and it's contents to the Motel and room number where Sera was staying. Only when Bruno himself had seen it placed into her hands should he come back. So the lone vampire would wait outside the motel until Sera came back. As for Marcus he had a vampire to tend to.::::

-Sera was busy putting her things away in suit case. The apartment hunting was going no where. Which was alright, for the time being. There was things she needed to do before she could get settled in an apartment. For one, was getting to see Tommy. After Tommy, she would see everyone else. Running into Jessica in the park and telling her all the good news, had been great. It gave Sera a wonderful feeling inside. Then helping Adam find what brand of Dog food for Jake. That was funny really. Hands pushed down the clothing, to lock up the case. A few boxes littered the floor of the motel. Books mostly, and everything she could fit in that small matrix, that was in serious need of a tune up now. Maybe an over haul.

Just something else she needed to ask one of the men in her life. Milo, or Adam. Though, Sera didn't want to rely too heavily on the man. He was already doing so much and being so kind. The knock on the door caused her to give a soft scream. Something that Sera didn't expect. When she peeked out of the peep hole. Which was about three inches taller than she was, she would pull back the chain, and unlock the door. There was Bruno, all rippling muscularly inch of him. In his hand was a letter, the seal, told Sera it was from Marcus. Not because it had his name on it. But simply, he was the only man Sera know that had that old world elegance to him.

"Thank you." She would tell him, when he nodded and went back to the car he was driving. Sera watched the man go, before calling him back to wait for a little bit. He gave her a funny look, but went inside. Sera didn't know what to offer, since all she had was some left overs and a few bottles of water. Bruno opt to watch the TV. Nerves racked her form. She had sent him her own letter that afternoon, and now she held the answer in her hands. Taking a seat at the table, which served for a desk and a place to eat, Sera grabbed one of the plastic knives. It broke the paper carefully, not wanting to damage the pretty envelope. It was very much Marcus. His tastes were always so good. Wether it was the paper he used or the pen he wrote with, from clothing to his things, they were nice. Elegant, classy. Yes those words fit Marcus wonderfully. Not to mention the man was a walking wet dream.

Emerald green eyes roamed over the words. She could feel the tears that threatened to spill, and harm the ink. She remembered LeiLani, remembered how she had asked Sera to help expand her gifts with her cat, Salem. Remembered the few times she had shared with Lani. Marcus' mention of her did make those tears swell. But the sweet words that were written down, cause Sera to not only cry, but want to rush over to Bliss and hug Marcus. The next best thing was a letter. So she grabbed one of her lined sheets from a note book, and started to write. The deed was signed, and she would return it with the letter she was starting to write.-

Dear Marcus,

Your words have touched me. You were one of the first people to have welcomed me into Salem and you have been one of the few that have changed my world while I was here. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know that time hasn't been always been perfect for us. But I do remember who shares a place in my heart. Thank you for your words. The advice you have given me makes me feel better about being the Radha of the Horde. If your friend trusts him, and most importantly you trust him, then I will trust Adam as well. He doesn't seem the type of man that would willingly harm another. The connection I felt with him, was hard to describe.

To be honest with you, Marcus I am scared of what will happen with this new position I had been offered. I wish to make the best of this spot. I know that, if I need you, you shall be there. And if you ever need of me I shall be there for you. Even if I may not understand everything that is going on. I am still learning, and as I learn I grow. I hope that you and I can get closer than before. You have been much of an inspiration to me when I was away. I often wondered what you would have done in certain situations. My choice to leave Florida, was caused by the warmth I know that you gave me while I was here. I am here to stay.

My first family in Salem, was you, Milo, Jessica, Tommy, and Shakti. You will always be my family. I have now, new members, that I am still getting to know and hope to help. I hope to love them as much as I love you and the rest of my Salem family.

Thank you for this chance, thank you for your open arms of welcome once again. I love you.

Love always,
Sera

-Enclosed was the signed deed, and a few drops were tears had smudged the ink of her own note book paper. Excitement filled her form. Sera knew that with this new adventure there was going to be hardships. But, she had people in Salem that she could turn to for help, and guidance. One of which was Salem's very own Master of the City. Not many would understand Sera's devotion to him, or why she loved him so completely. But, she did. Marcus had changed her, and she was happy he had done so. He wasn't the only one, but he had been one of the firsts. The letter and deed were given to Bruno and he was on his way back to Bliss. Sera's next thing was rushing over to see Tommy. Even if she had to hunt that adorable doormouse down, she would. Six months was too long to go without one of Tommy's kisses.-
