Ash had been to see a realtor in Town, he was putting his beautiful Victorian on Derby Street up for sale. It seemed a shame since he had only lived there a little over a month, but he should be at the Pack House. He should be with his people. It was a hard descicion for him to make. The man had been a loner for so many years, and hadn't shared a home with anyone since he was sixteen. The Hummer wound it's way down the dirt road leading towards the house, mind whirring at a steady pace as Vivaldi played over the speakers. This was for the best he assumed. At least now Caelum, Silent, and Olivia would know where to find him if they needed anything, or if anything bad happened. Parking and climbing out he stood a moment in the cool early morning air, taking in the scents of the forest around him. Inside the house was still and then something erupted towards him, charging and barking like some small white devil. Eyes narrowed as he glared down at the thing coming towards him, and moving lightning quick hands scooped the scrunchy dog up holding it at arms length. The thing snarled and wiggled making it hard to hold without crunching. Ash didn't understand pets. What did you do with them? What did they do for you? Really what was the point? This had to be Silents dog, setting it down he made a low almost inperceptible growling noise deep in his throat and the dog piddled on the wood floor, tucked it's tail between it's legs, then ran away. Making a mental note to clean that up later he walked over to the counter and left something there for Silent. A letter penned in his elegant curving script.
"Dear Silent, Welcome home. No limit, use it as you like. I am having the grocery store deliver some food for everyone. See you soon. ~Ash P.S. The gift is for your special idea! Have fun!"
On top of the note he left one of his platinum cards to be used for the decorators fee, with Shakti on the job he knew that having no limit was important. Also there was a small wrapped box. When she opened it she would find a box of matches. It was a joke, proof that he was trying, because she'd talked about burning Loke's old belongings. Leaving this behind he got a bottle of water from the fridge and headed off to work.
The pug would soon find itself in Sils bed..It was whining and shaking from its encounter with Ash. Which was a prime example why most lycans didn't own animals. Reaching to pet the pup she smirk. He smelled of Ash and fear. "Aww did that big bad wolf scare you?" She would laugh as she crawled out of bed... Seems he was staying at the pack house pretty often...But she could of swore that Sharki had said something about him having his own place..Smiling some as she made her way down stairs she was quite proud of the fact that the place smelled of wolf...Both the crisp forest one and the one that ran in the swamps. Once in the kitchen she would hunt for food...All she found was the whiskey she picked up and along with the steak she brought home to share with the dog. Coming across the box and note she would pick it up. Once the note was read the card would shoved in her pocket...Looking at the box she would open it...Awww if he kept this up...She wouldn't be calling him Captain freeze...But he wouldn't loose the Mc Frosty title for some time. Glancing down at the great white terror that followed. "He keeps this up Ugly....I might start to like him"
Silent would order the usual rare steaks before she left the pub. Both Ash and Via left...Via not so happy..Getting home with noone there besides the pup whose tail was wiggling so bad that it was moving its whole body...She would smile. "By the looks of you hes not home" Making her way to the kitchen she would grab the paper he left the note on for her. And in her not so elegant penmanship...
Ash.. We need to talk...With out the others. Silent P.S. I left a dinner for you in the oven from the Pub...And while you eat..Look over the books Ms Lewis sent over.
Her main letter.....Blunt...Kinda like him. But she needed to get some things on the table...Before she did something stupid.
She had sat in the beat up chevy for sometime after her and Ash parted for their own cars and Auri went home. After a few moments she would start the car and drive till she saw in big red lights "CVS" Pulling in she would grab a super first aide kit the thing had EVERYTHING. Paying for it she would head back to the pack house. He had been in the shower when she got in so she left it on his bed with a note: Let your wolf out again this week...This may be needed...No I take that back it WILL be needed Silent. With that said she would take ugly for a walk.A Long one at that.
He had stood under the hot stream of the shower for as long as that scathing warmth lasted. Pale skin coated in red by the time he turned the water off. Black shaggy hair lay long around his face, rivulets of water tracing down his body, running over those scars and tattoos. Ash shook himself like a wet dog, water flying everywhere, then he grabbed the fluffy white towel hanging from the rail and used it to wipe down. Finally it was wrapped around his waist, hanging low when he stepped out and moved into the atrocious bedroom. God he couldn't wait for the decorating to be finished. Lightning kissed eyes went immediately to the package on his bed, then glanced around the room not needing to wonder who had left it because that smell of Louisianna in the summer still clung to the linens. Hands picked up the kit and turned it over as he tried to figure out what the meaning of this puzzle was. Setting it on the bedside table he lifted the note and read it over. By the end that generous mouth was actually spread in a smile. With the full moon getting closer you never knew what might happen. From behind those silver walls the happy hitchhiker looked on, tongue lolling out, giving the metaphysical equivalent of a head nod as if to say, 'See I told you you need me'
