Looking for Master Jessie McCarthy

Rome, Italy. Unity Steele was finally in this patch of Europe. How had her life brought her here was nothing short of the most complicated twists and turns. The one sure thing was she had done it all on her merit. Something her two dads back in the states had been entirely proud of her.  Her theses on the starfish had been read by the top marine biologist in Rome. He had called her and asked her to come to Rome to help with a new branch of the Aquarium they were building in Rome. Unity had been happy accept the request.

It had been a really tearful good bye between her and her two fathers. They understood she would come home whenever they wanted and of course for holidays and random visits. The family motto had always been Love is all you Need. That kept the family strong for many years and many years before Unity had been born. A deep breath of the stale airport air. The breath wasn't needed. She was just still a little to fresh for being the undead to drop the habit. Tattooed arms were wrapped around the large bag lifting it off the conveyer belt. Setting it on its wheels. Pulling the handle, it gave a snap as it extended. The next two bags came rolling by. Reaching for her leopard pink print bags to set them on the larger heavier rolling luggage bag. Unity removed a bungy cord to two the two other bags down on the bigger one.

Peep toe heels in the same leopard print style rushed across the terminal to the doors. The night bathed the city in Rome with its darkness. Only the lights and the twinkling stars kept the darkness back. It was so pretty. Hailing a cab, Unity waved to the cabbie to stop at the curb. The man drove the front wheel tire on the sidewalk. He rushed out to take her baggage. She spoke in a broken Italian. Having just learned enough to get by for now. Unity was telling him if he could take her to Bliss. That was where her master told her where Jessie McCarthy might be. The letter she had that Stavros had written for Jessie clutched tightly against her chest. Climbing into the taxi the driver buckled himself in and lurched off the sidewalk and into the traffic. The tiny car was fast, weaving through the other cars and mopeds. Unity smiled seeing the mopeds. she thought when she got more money she would get one to go through the city.

Blue eyes took in the sites as the cabbie speed through the streets. She was trying not to act like a tourist. It was hard when there was just so many things to look at. She had never left the states till now. Unity was hoping this Jessie McCarthy would take her around. Her real hope was that he was nice and not like her old master. The taxi stopped suddenly that Unity had to brace herself on the back of the front seat not to fly through the window. Harsh Italian words were said. Unity frowned only a little trying to translate. She looked out the window when the man pointed in that direction. It was Bliss. She didn't know it was a club. The look of surprise crossed her features for a second. She nodded with a ruby red smile on her lips. Paying the fare. The man climbed out to remove her bags from the small trunk.

Unity tugged at the pretty black blazer she wore. Pink and blue tipped nails brushed the invisible dirt from her dark jeans. Another deep breath. Heading to the bright red doors of the club. Unity flashed her ID at the door man. He eyed her a little funny. Then pointed to his mouth. Unity gave him a bright smile flashing her pointy fangs. The door man laughed a little before letting her pass. Bags in tow she walked into the club. She guessed that not many people came in with rolly bags. Unity straightened her shoulders. She wouldn't let the funny looks her way deter her from her current mission. Finding Jessie McCarthy.

The bar was her first stop. Over the music she was screaming at the man behind the bar if he knew a Jessie McCarthy. The man shook his head and pointed to a dark blond at the end of the bar. He screamed the name Chad. Unity headed in that direction. Calling Chad's attention, she asked him the same question. He nodded, gave her the 'one minute' finger signal. He grabbed a phone and called someone. A few seconds later he was walking around the bar and escorting Unity to the back doors. The noise of the club died away reaching what looked like a backstage. Chad told her to wait there and Jessie would be up to see her. Unity nodded and smiled with a thank you. Chad nodded and headed back to the club.

Nervous hands fidgeted with hem of her blazer. She was hoping Jessie would be okay with taking care of her. She didn't want to cause any problems for the Master vampire. Unity didn't know Jessie wasn't a master. She was only guessing since Stavros wouldn't just send her to anyone.
