=Brady'd thought about what Adam had said all the way back to his hotel room. Thought about it while he packed up his things, and thought about it all the way back to the Horde lands. He knew that he was lookin' to settle down someday soon, but he hadn't thought that soon was coming up on him in such a very big hurry. Now as he sat in the room that they'd cleared out for him he had a moment alone to give the matter some more thought. Though truthfully Brady was hoping for an interruption. Anything really to take his mind off things.=
=After putting away his suits, hanging them carefully, and slipping the rest of his things into drawers he stood and looked around the room. The place was clean and nice in it's way. And the house smelled good. Like all the tigers who lived there. It made his skin feel warm from the inside out to have the others so close. His beast rumbling with satisfaction at where they had found themselves.= =Taking a seat on the edge of the bed he gave a little bounce to test the mattress and listened to the small little squeek, but at least the mattress hadn't outright broken beneath his substantial weight. That was always a plus. So with little fanfare Brady had come to the Horde house to stay, what would come of that time would tell.=
Home was where the heart is. Or so that's how the saying went. To her Mama, that had been true. They even had one of those needle point decorated cloths that had the house and the words 'Home Sweet Home' framed over the door mantel. Jane missed that. Though recently her home felt invaded. There was a new tiger in the mists. He was taking shelter there for the while. Jane had bought the house for that very same reason. For the tigers to come and stay. She knew tigers would come. The problem was the man that did come.
He was broad, a big man in the shoulders he was bulky, thick. A real honest to god southern home grown man. The kind that only those cheesy historical romance books talk about. The ones that are true gentlemen and that look good in those white suits. On a steam boat playing poker with a perfectly rolled cigarillo. His blond hair only slightly tossed by the wind or a working woman who ran her fingers through it. Jane shook her head at the slight anger rising from her beast. Thinking of him with another woman was making her upset.
Jane shoved that feeling down, locked it away. She felt worse when she thought about Bucky. She knew the vampire didn't love her. Mostly because even if they were connected by the marks, they really didn't know each other. She also knew he had more of an attraction to Ariadne. That didn't matter to Jane so much. She wanted them together. Something inside told Jane that those two would be something... something special.
The bike rolled to a stop. She stared up at the window with the light still on. A deep breath entered and exited Jane's lungs. She had to face it sooner or later, She couldn't very well run away from home cause a insanely handsome man moved into the house. That first meeting had been... well honestly Jane had ran away from him. His eyes had been the same color from the tiger in her dream. The same mixture of gold and green. The gold made the green in his eyes stand out like jewels.
"Stop it Jane. Ya gonna drive yaself insane thinkin' 'bout some man."
She told herself. Mumbling the words under her breath. Swinging her leg over the bike. The heels of her boots crushed the gravel underneath. She had a slight swagger to her hips. Something that was a mix of John Wayne and Mae West. Pulling open a wooden flap of a box she had outdoors. There was two plastic bike covers in the box. Taking both out, she covered her bike with one, then the other bike in the driveway. Jane had bought the covering for the tiger she hoped was going to live with them; Axel. But he was a no show. Janey used the extra cover on the bike. Once that was done she headed to the front door. Her keys dangling from her gloved fingers. The door however was already unlocked. Went to show much the tigers felt safe here.
The lock turned behind her as she entered. The keys dropped on the table by the door. Walking towards the stairs she mumbled to herself. Seemed like she was starting to pick up bad habits.
"He's just every otha man. Ya dealt wit his kind all ya life, Janey. He ain't no different."
She was saying reassuring herself as she found herself walking passed her door to the open one where the light was still on. Looking in the room she found him bouncing on the bed testing it. Her lips turned in what had to be a frown. Her whole features seemed like she didn't like him. His presence was soothing. His beast alluring. Her own wanted to reach out. Jane slammed the doors on that. Locked herself up nice and tight.
Leather covered hands balling into fits. Those hands opened as she stuffed them quickly in her pocket. The way she looked said she didn't want him there. It wasn't true. To Jane she knew she was acting weird. But she didn't know why. Just this man being there. Was...was so intrusive! His being just took so much space. If he hadn't been a tiger he would have just been a large man. The way he looked. Large shoulders, a lean waist and those legs so powerful. He was a tiger, so it was worse. He's beast was strong. Hot. The way he radiated heat was being close to the sun.
"Ah.." She paused cleared her throat and started again "coveahed ya bike. Storm's commin' didn't think ya wanted ya bike wet." That was all she said before walking from the doorway. Turning back to the door she peered in again with her Aztec golden eyes.
"We have breakfast in the mornin'. If ya don't get up, ya might not get nothin ta eat." She said then turned away for the last time.
"Yea I dont know what happen to her...No. I dont think shes coming back....I know hes torn up....If she does...I may kill her."
Both woman and tiger paced the length of the front deck as she talked to Sera. The Horde needed their beast master...And Nadia needed her little sister...Which was exactly how she felt about young girl. Sera had always been more then the Hordes wise woman...She had been their tiger lilly....Stopping her pacing she would lean against the glass door watching Jane move about. Taking a deep breath.
" I love you Sera. Give my love to Tommy. I hope things get wrapped up soon. Yes..Ill make sure I send your love to Adam and the boys...Try talking to him about coming to rome for a few days...Im sure a certain little red headed rat girl would be estatic to see you both...Ok. Talk to you soon. Bye."
With that she would close her cell phone.Glancing up she would see the rolling clouds with their promise of a storm...Mmmm..Maybe she would convince Lucien for a run in it.Just to feel the cool water against naked skin.A smile would cirl over those ruby red lips. Well its time to go greet the new Alpha. Adam trusted the man...And she would give him the benifit of the doubt...For now.
Onyx and silver hues watched Jane walk off.Did Jane feel the same way she did? That Adam should remain leader? Or that she should be? Why was she so hostle to this man.Nadia made a note to ask her later..For now She wanted to make sure he was settling in well enough.Knocking on the wood frame of the door she would smile some.
Not one of those omg god im happy to see you ones she gave Lucien or Adam...But a polite one.But just being in the doorway she could feel his warmth. It made the beast within comfortable...A little to much for the tattooed tigress's liking.
"Mr. Hawkes..I hope everything is ok in here. With...Im not much of a house keeper. Or good at being the welcome wagon. "
Withouth Gillian...Things just seemed so...Strange. Nadia was a artist...Her life was consumed by her work. Much like her mates....Only Nadia, had begun to fall into the actual world so that she could be at her sun kings side.
