Ker was awake, after a few days of rest he stayed iceilated up in his trailer. Yet to contact with the others he was more afraid of stepping outside then letting anyone in. Would anyone blame him? He was the type of man to not be afraid of anything, after all the hunts he's been on and all the monsters that were killed by his own hands. And all the hell they've all been through togeather what was stopping the tarakian from stepping outside. This did not mean, everytime he closed his eye's he saw that woman in red leathers face, and that large bald black man standing up and over him watching the torment they've done to him then walk away like none of it happened.  In his own mind he was still wrapped up in that prision, it did not matter if it was knocked down to the ground, it did not matter if they were all dead and destoryed and him others were free and safe now. He was reliving it all in his mind, and he had to somehow get it on one track and back to the way he was again.

There was newspapers and newspaper clippings everywhere, on the floor and on his desk. Where all his weapons laid were burried under books and papers. It looked like a storm hit his trailer, he was so obessed of what has went on here in Rome, for the past couple of months he had to catch up and figure out what happen. It was like he was in his own mind of insanity, which it all excited him because on the wall was a large; white calk board. Marked in different color's with numbers, words, letters, Ker was smart so he was trying to let it all make sense in his own way. He was not about to write on the walls if he already ran out of space on one calk-board. Then had another one to fill up, it was all in the mind, the game that was being played with him, what he asked of others that were checking on him they granted it to him. After that Ker would lock the door and slam it shut with a 'thank you'.

He was standing, infront of the mirror on his bathroom wall, the water foset running on hot as steam rolled up fogging up the mirror. He slid a hand across the glass, wiping the steam away so he could see to shave.  As he dabbed shaving cream onto his face, he unlatched the silver blade and started at his throat, dragging the sharp edge up to his chin. His hand was a little shakey one move, and he'd have a big problam. Ker knew sometime today he was maybe going to let someone inside or walk outside, for one he needed to thank the man that didn't leave him behind at the compound. And that was Hannibal all those times the two didn't get along, or faught like two small boys that were ten and twelve Hannibal still saved his life and there was no dought in his mind that Ker would do the same for him.

Second Ker knew he needed, to go out and let Rad inside; or go outside and go to her. Either or they were going to run into each other and Ker knew her well, he figured she was trying to think of how he ended up there. He bet they were all thinking he up and left after all those months he did not blame them for thinking that. After his mother passed there was something he had to do but he came back, for a short perido of time. Then after that he could not remember what happen and how he got there. He took a deep breath and tapped the razor blade, on the edge of the sink as the soft sound of 'classical music' played in the background to sooth him as in the time being he tryed not to slice open his throat.

Ariadne had laid in bed a little longer than she should have. Only a few people came by to check on her. Wondering why she hadn't gotten up yet. Why she was being lazy. After a fight, even one like the night before, she never just laid in bed being sluggish. It felt nice and at the same it wasn't like her. This seemed something like a cat would do. Her thoughts traveled down the long weathered gold line that connected her to Jane and not too much further down Azrael. Though this was new. The power was old. In her mind it fit her snuggly. The lines felt like well worn weddings rings. Something that could be familiar and safe; if Ariadne allowed it to be. In the back of her mind she could feel the whispers. Feel the sing song voices calling to that Vampire. Daring her to open the lines and let him in. Let him wash over her with his power again. A devil's sonata of promises... of years of protection... of an eternity of belonging.

Shoving the thoughts from her mind. This was insanity. Nothing happened to her that night. Nothing that could make her feel like that. It had to be something from the compound. They might have triggered some hallucinogenic powder. She would talk to Jane later and see if the woman felt the same, last resort would be Azrael.

Ariadne rose and got dressed. She needed to check on everything. Find Ker and ask him what he was doing there. What happened when he left. They thought he had gone for good. Ariadne almost wished he had. It would have spared Ker of whatever was happening to him. She knew mentally he was not all there from the reports she had heard.

Combat boots crossed the spring grass that covered their new encampment. Though, now it really didn't matter. Not when a vampire lived in her head. Knuckles banged on Ker's door, knowing the man would answer sooner or later. when he did, Ariadne slipped by. Iridescent opaline eyes took a survey of his trailer before landing on his form. Her eyes weren't harsh, though the set of her lips were. Compassion showed in the depths of her eyes though her body screamed to keep a distance.

"What happened to you?"

Was her first question. Taking a step back she would find a chair and move things to the floor so she could sit. This seemed like a sitting matter.

When Ker heard the knock aupon, the door he jumped a little. But the blade didn't pinch or cut at his skin. Those hazel eyes glanced twords the door for a moment, with an instance he knew it was his child hood best friend. He use to could talk to her about anything, now it was all debate debate. Grabbed a towel and set the razor down on the sink, he shuffled around the area of the trailer he had no time to clean half was Ker half was not.

He opened the door, as he unlached the locks then slamming it shut once because the sunlight hit his eyes. It hurt like hell, so instead he grabbed a pair of sunglasses he always wore during daylight stake outs with the gang. He pushed the pair of glasses aupon his face then opened the door once more. "Sorry." he said. "Little sunlight hurts' every now and then." He gave a crooked smile, then let Ariadne let herself in.

Yes it seemed like Ker was a little insane, no not insane just fighting in his mind with the game that was being played. Although he didn't make eye contact not yet, so he turnned away as she sat herself in a chair and back twords the bathroom, dabbing the towl on his face to get rid of the rest of the shaving cream. Flipping the light off in the bathroom he let her question sink in for a moment of. 'What happened to you'

"That a trick question, my dear?" he asked. "What happened to you"

Ker stalked twords her he pulled a empty chair up and sat it down infront of her he took a seat. He knew it was time to get down, and dirty well not really to spit anything out he could.

"What do you think happened" With Ker there was always, trick questions in return but that was just Ker he liked to play a little but he knew she was being serious he leaned foreward as elbows rested upon his knees. He had to think for a moment, Ker really didn't know what happened.

"Before I returnned or after, while I was being tormented by a bunch of men who really can destory every living creature in that base camp and make them into anything they wanted. I don't remember, I was returnning to you. After I came home that day and then I woke up there."

Standing she would move to the bathroom. Grabbing a bowl to fill it with water. She set it in the microwave for a few minutes. Ariadne moved around the trailer with ease. Only side stepping a few things here and there. She had half lived in this trailer before he had left the first time. When she had felt something more than just a friendship for the man. That seemed ages ago. Taking the knife he had been using she listened to him talking.

"No, Ker not a trick question."

She answered almost bluntly. Forgetting for a moment he was a friend, and getting annoyed because he would tell her what happened. The beeping of the microwave. She took a small towel to wrap it around the bowl so it wouldn't burn her fingers. His knife dangled from her other hand as she walked back to him. Grabbing one of those TV dinner trays to use it as a table.

Pulling her chair closer to him, she dipped the knife in the hot water. Back to the bathroom she grabbed the shaving cream. Returning to her seat she lathered the side of his face that he hadn't finished. This had been something she had done almost a million times. It was soothing when she was younger and fascinated by Ker and just about everything he did. Now it was more out of habit, something she wanted to do because she actually did like it.

"Tell me everything Ker, no trick questions, don't bullshit me okay. Just straight talk to me. What happened to you? After you left and was coming back? I'm sorry you went through that if I could kill them all over again I would. I would make then suffer too..."

As she talked she ran his knife along his jaw, cutting away the beard that had grown. Keeping her eyes trained on what she was doing while she was thinking and saying things that had nothing to do with the task at hand.

His hazel eyes, were trainned on her. He watched her every step, and move that she made in the trailer. It wasn't that he didn't trust her it was a habbit, and habbits were to be broken soon enough. Listening to her footsteps, thud across the floor' he was more interested in what she was doing than talking. The beep of the mircowave' caught him off from the thoughts. Twisting his body as Ker glanced over his shoulder, oh the shave.

His hand rubbed against his left, cheek. Ker never finished it he forgotten, well mostly he would let his trusty friend Ariadne do this, and basicly no one else. Who else would he trust to let someone hold a blade against his throat? No one, his body tensed as she drew close sitting infront of him. Eyes' watched as she picked up the knife, and slid it along his jaw. He then relaxed, he knew she wouldn't cut him why would he tense by a sharp pointy object.

"No bullshit"

He stared straight ahead, avoiding any eye contact. Ker knew her words were true, but the point was he never really left the first time, it was only because of his mother. She needed him it was kind of hard to pick sides' of who needed who the most he would have Rad to come with him; but she had a job to do and a tribe to protect and lead the people.

"The morning I arrived, back in Rome. I came back to camp; saw you and the others for a split second. Went to my trailer, and dropped off my lugage. I left to run somethings to the post office, I thought I'd get everything done; before I came to talk to you, before you busted my chops for leaving in the first place."

Which it did not matter anymore, Ker felt responseable for those people coming to Rome in the first place after what happened, the night of his mothers death that was.

"Then I woke up there. And I waited."

He woke up and waited. Opaline eyes turned to his own. A frown touching the edges of her mouth as she turned her eyes away. So much faith in her, or so much faith in them. If it hadn't been for Hannibal going missing she would never have known about Ker. It made her feel horrible. She was terrible. Completely awful for not noticing sooner. Her anger blinded her from searching for Ker sooner.

"I'm sorry Ker. I'm sorry I didn't look for you sooner. I'm sorry you had to go through all that."

Dipping the knife into the water to clean it. She started again scrapping away at the beard that had to have grown in over a month? More? She was scared. Deep down she was scared she wasn't strong enough. She needed to be stronger. She needed to grow. How else would she be able to keep everyone protected? She needed to stop being a child and do what was needed for her people. How else would they prosper and keep with the mission entrusted to them?

Her fingers brushed over Ker's now bare skin. Smooth skin greeted her fingertips. At least she still was skillful in shaving a man's face. Ariadne cleaned off the excess shaving cream with the towel she had used. Dipping the corner into the water to help clean him off. Using the corner of her sleeve she dried his face. Standing, her hands cupped his cheeks and placed a very delicate kiss on Ker's forehead.

"You're safe now Ker. Relax, sleep and let yourself forget. I'll protect you."

As she would for all her people. Gathering the shaving things she walked to the bathroom to clean everything before leaving. Her hand on the door of the trailer, she turned to look at him.

"I'm making Trinity my second in command, I think you should be there when I announce it to the tribe. You shouldn't be afraid anymore. We are all your family Ker. Even if we don't share the same blood."

Last parting words before she left his trailer.

Why all the sudden did he feel like Prince Charming. To her when they were childeren he was this  boy who promised to protect her. Even though they played dragons and locked away princesses. His eyes looked into her own for a moment, as she kept apologizing. None of this was her fault, he understood she had a respsonibility of knowing if Ker was missing or not. They all had their own thoughts on Ker dissapering once more without a word. That would have been unhonorable.

"Not your fault Rad.."

Ker stayed seated, in the chair as she moved, tword the bathroom to put up the shaving supplies. Hand ran over his cheeks, smoothed and bare skin. She still had the skill of shaving, he really forgotten she knew how. A crooked smile showed aupon his lips. There was one thing she was right about, they were all family even though they were not blood. Ker nodded to her as she exited his trailer, there was one man he needed to find and speak with and that Hannibal.
