Gloved fingers drummed along the wooden table where she sat with Adam. Hard to explain to the man what she saw in that vision spell she had taken. A small bouquet of flowers were set between them. It was gift from Jane to Adam. The waitress was setting down their drinks and shimmied off to help another table.
"Ah don't know how ta go 'bout this."
Jane started as she took a sip of her coke. Not a rum and coke or a whiskey and coke. just a normal one. which said she was nervous enough not to drink.
"Ah did one of them vision spell quests thangs. Ah was tryin' ta find somebody. Lady said ah might see somethang or ain't see nothang at all."
They were sitting on the upper deck of the Lady Luck saloon, which was Jane's favorite place to be. Poker, pool and just about any game that with a little money on the line could make matters real interesting.
"Ah found what Ah was lookin' fo."
She said mussing on how to keep going. Best way, was Jane's way of doing things. Just out with it.
"Someone's comin' Adam. Ah don't know if its ta take ovah, but someone's comin'. All Ah gots ta see was his..."
She paused there when the waitress was setting down their food. When she was gone again Jane picked up where she had left off.
"beast. He's got gold green eyes. Like... the green is speckled wit gold. Its... well... he's..."
Jane didn't understand the feeling. The edges of her lips were tugged into a frown. Looking down at her cheeseburger she didn't know if she even wanted it anymore. Her beast on the other hand was forcing her to move her limbs and get the food into her stomach. They wouldn't want her to shift prematurely or anything. Not that she has for a while now or anything. Still, food helped keep the other hungers at bay.
"Ah know how ya feel 'bout bein' Khan. Ah ain't gonna push ya ta do somethan' ya don't want ta, or feel like ya can't. But Ah guess Ah look up ta ya, the way ah nevah had any othah Tigah leadah. Course none the othah's, mayself included, weren't worth a lick. Ya ain't mah leadah no mo'e, but ah think of ya as ah friend."
-:The saloon mwas an interesting diversionary place and the enviornment seemed to fit Mary Jane to a T. They were practically made for eachother. After several rounds at the pool table where she unashamedly wiped the floor with him, they had sat down for a little heart to heart. Sitting across from her in the booth he carefully listened to the story that unfolded. There were obviously aspects of the story being left out, he could almost feel the unspoken words from her, but he didn't pry or try to correct her omissions. Just let the tale flow how it would.:-
-:In front of him a glass of iced tea sat and his fingers lightly rubbed the sides of the glass, coming away wet with condensation. Jane's words though had him reaching across and patting the back of her hand with his. It made her stop the nervous tapping on the table for a moment.:-
"I am your friend Jane, and not being Khan doesn't mean that I won't still be here for everyone. But I can't fight my own inner nature. My purpose lies in other areas."
-:There was more to it than that, but for the time being he was keeping that to himself. Adam had a feeling that life was going to take him in another direction, but he was secure enough to let go of the past and be willing to move on. He hoped the others would accept that.:-
"He's what?"
-:She hadn't finished her sentence so he asked.:-

Jane took Adam's hand. She laced only the top knuckles together. Leather gloves over his roughen hands from working with lumber and the power tools. A real man's hand. Reminded her much like her Pa's hands. Lower lip was taken by her teeth for a moment thinking. She had trailed off in her story. When Adam prompted her to finish, she shrugged.
"He's...safe Ah guess. Ah dunno Adam. When Ah saw 'em. Ah felt..."
She took back her hand to make a grasping motion, trying to convey what she had felt without sounding crazy. Though if the one person could understand her, it was Adam.
"Ah felt... Happy. Mah beast was settled. When Ah saw the owl fly ovah. Ah knew Ah had ta go and follow it but Ah didn't want ta. Not till mah beast showed up and it sat next ta his. Then Ah could go aftah the Owl in mah vision."
She spoke taking one of the steak fries to her lips. The frown still etched on her mouth. She dazed off a little into space before looking to Adam's green eyes.
"Ah ain't sure what it means. Ah mean Ah know what the otha stuff was 'bout. But Ah nevah seen nothin' like this. An't felt nothin' like that neitha."
-:Hearing her words he had the inkling of an idea of what this might be about. But he didn't say anything, didn't try to clarify the vision for her. Because if his suspicion was correct then she would be better off not knowing. Some things in life were meant to sweep you up and take you by surprise. Plus, he had the feeling that Jane was the sort to run if she knew a thing like this. A sparkle set itself up in his dark hunter green eyes as he looked at her.:-
"I will make sure we are ready, for whatever comes. Thank you Jane."
-:Moving out of the booth he gave her a soft smile and lightly patted her shoulder, almost like a father would. He didn't envy her the confusion that was most likely coming her way, but he knew that if she came out the other side she would know something brighter than anything she had ever experienced before. In that way Adam was happy for her.:-
"Don't be a stranger at the house Jane. Gillian and I would love to see you anytime."
