It was expensive to do things this way, but ever so much more convenient for his purposes. Then again since his family owned the paper that made his job much simpler. A witch of some skill cast a spell upon the ink used making it so that to any normal person the ad in the paper would look something like this:

Puppies For Sale!
$500.00 Pureblood Greyhounds
Inquire at Camera Del Cucciolo

However if the person reading the article held significant magical abilities of any nature the ad would read very differently:

Mastering others is strenght. Mastering yourself is true power. -Tao
Positions available for those who wish to apply their supernatural abilities.
Opportunities for advancement available.

The spell was benign, nothing illegal, but even if it was it was nearly impossible to trace. The contact information given was to one of the receptionists of the Goldman Corporation. From there they could weed out the unacceptable applicants, and only the cream of the crop would be sent on for Ishmael himself to see.
