Hazel eyes lifted from the laptop screen, the white glow making her skin look that much more like alabaster. Marcello stood just on the other side of the desk, staring down at her.
"You are certain it is him?" Fingers reached up sliding her reading glasses off her nose as she set them down on the massive mahongany desk beside the laptop. Marcello gave a little nod, the courner's of his lips turning down in a frown. "And the body, what did you do with it?" Rosalie continued quietly as if she was talking about nothing more then a piece of meat. But in Pierce's case, that's all he was now.
"The usual, my Princess." Marcello shifted so he could glance behind himself and lower himself into the large leather seat that sat opposite her.
Rosalie's lips pulled down in a faint frown, so faint only Marcello could recognize it as an actual frown. Her hand reached out to close the laptop before those slender whispery digits folded over each other on top of the desk. "It is fortunate that he did not acutally receive anything that would link him to us yet then. However, it troubles me that one with his power could be drained so easily by a vampire." Legs shifted to unfold as she refolded them reaching down to hook one high heel off and rub her fingers against the ache in her arch. Long hours in heels tended to give her the worst cramps in her feet, however it was the price of looking so damn good.
Marcello rose from the chair and moved around the desk, wincing slightly as he knelt in front of her. He moved her hand and drew her foot onto his leg as his strong thumbs worked into the ache of her arch. Hazel eyes closed as she took a deep breath, feeling the strength in those hands. "Did you get anything off the body before you got rid of it?" Marcello kept working as he spoke.
"Nothing that could help us. We had the Cleaner handle it as usual." The jingling of dog tags had those hazel eyes openning again as Apollo in all his Cane Corso greatness trotted into the room. Nearly as tall as Marcello kneeling he was a massive dog and a true testimony to the pure blood in his veins. A hand leaned out and Apollo came willingly offering up a lick to those fingers before Rosalie lifted her foot out of Marcello's hand. She leaned over the arm of her chair and kissed the dog on his massively huge head before scratching at the ruff around his neck.
"Then that's all that could be done, I do hope Ms. DeLuca is not too upset about this. She's under watch yes?" Apollo nuzzled into the affection as she set her cheek against his head, turning her eyes back to Marcello as he slowly got to his feet.
"Yes, we have someone tailing her, making sure she's not in any trouble or that the police haven't tied her to us. It's definetally not a face the police know." Marcello gave a faint nod before offering his own fingers to Apollo. The stub tail on the dog wagged for a moment before a lick was given to the man's fingers as well.
"Then there should be no loose ends, no strings left untied." She released Apollo only to reach down and snag off her other heel and stood slowly into a stretch. Apollo's tail started moving a mile a minute as she hooked her heels in one hand and reached down to pat the overly happy dog's head. "Come on, lets go get you a treat." Marcello moved to her side, sliding an arm about her waist, his lips graced her forehead and for a moment it was just a woman and man in love. But it was just a moment before she followed the eager dog to the kitchen and the waiting liver snaps.
Getting in had been easy enough. Oh who was she kidding. The place was a damn fortress, but therein was the challenge. The Black Widow had made it through the outer defenses, now she just needed to cross the freakin' acre between her breach and the actual house.
Ok, so maybe it wasn't an acre. But it sure looked like it from here. A glance was given around through the visor of the helmet, her sensors giving her a dead reading. From what she had found out, there were no motion sensors in the yard. Which made the cross a little bit easier.
She made it about halfway before she heard the growl. A glance given to her sensor on the helmet, but it showed nothing. But that growl was most definitely there. Slowly, the Black Widow turned, and saw the horse just behind her. Well, it was a dog. But it was a big fucking dog. And so she didn't see the other come at her from the other side.
Pain exploded in her leg as she fell, knowing the feel of teeth in her thigh. The other one lunged at her, and she reached up, catching him by the neck and throwing him down. Mars!? Are you kidding me? Who named their dogs after gods?
The thought barely had time to form before she turned to throw the other one off her leg, only able to do so with the strength of a lycan. She saw a blur coming across the yard, and realized that there was another one coming, and the other two had gotten back up.
No wonder the bitch didn't have motion sensors. She had big fuckin dogs. She gritted her teeth as she took off back towards the fence as fast as she could, the sound of barking trailing behind her.
She saw lights cutting on in her peripherals when she hit the wall, and she clamored over, not even taking a moment to catch her breath as she jumped up, moving for her hidden bike as fast as she possibly could. She made a note to herself to thank Mouse for letting her know about the Cane Corso security system as she took off into the night.
Apollo's head lifted in the midst of doing a trick for his liver snap, that massive head tilted and the cut ears swiveled faintly before a grummbling started in his chest. Rosalie paused in offering the treat to the dog as he growled. Apollo's booming voice echoed through the house. Marcello was suddenly moving just as Ruffello came from the side of the kitchen.
"The dogs are going crazy outside."
Rosalie glanced at Marcello as he flew out the door, Apollo right behind him. Stepping up to the open doorway she folded her arms across her chest to ward off the chill. Mars, Diana and Venus where barking up a storm beside one of the walls, Apollo was loping toward them barking up a storm with that booming bark.
Fingers where put in her lips as Marcello and Ruffello searched the grounds for intruders, however by the way the dogs where acting Rosalie knew who ever had dared make it over the wall and into the sanctum of her home had met up with one of her last defenses. With two fingers against her lips she gave a shrill whistle and all four dogs turned on command and galloped back to her. Once at her feet they boiled around her legs like small horses. A hand was held up in a first, almost in unison the four dogs sat. She crouched down inspecting them for any injuries.
"Marcello, Mars has blood on his mouth." Her voice rose up over the dog's heads toward her partner that was walking back toward the house beside Ruffello.
"And they call me the idiot" Christian said as stood, leaning against the wall when Rosalie and Marcello soon made their approach. Indeed, it was like he appeared out of nowhere. Well, not really, he was there all the time, pretty much embracing what he was. "Worry not, milady, the intruder would've met a far worse surprise than your.....heh...dogs" Funny how just the presense of one person could throw a wrench into the best laid plans. "The intruder didnt get very far before she was halted by the presense of your dogs. Although, I dont think the intruder would've suspected me, as I have been standing here the whole time....off in the shadows over there before the lights clicked on....I wanted to see just how far that person got before....I.....sprung into action" With that said, an almost inhumanly devilish grin splayed across those somewhat rugged, worn-down facial features as he began his approach towards the two, eyes focused on the dogs for but a moment. "I imagine we'll be seeing much more of that person...."
Even as he spoke, one could notice there seemed to be less flamboyancy and more...purpose in his mannerisms these days. Indeed, the diamond in the rough was certainly coming to fruition. In fact, instead of bitching about the chafing the suit created, he began to feel more comfortable with the expensive armani suit, like it had become something of a second skin to him. These days, he spent more time at the Villa, then prowling around the city with his other dear, deeear, friend. "I havent been able to get in contact with this...roxanna, but I shall get right on it" Naturally, he wouldnt tell her about his...educational tour, he was recieving, nor anything about his new "friends". All that would probably come in due time. Now he took to walking beside Rosalie and Marcello, more or less, sticking closer to Rosalie. After all, he WAS hired on as a bodyguard...a job he sort of failed to mention to Rowan about. Hey, even he believed in being somewhat mysterious, though, he failed at it more than others. At any rate, he pulled ahead of the two, opening the door, letting both dog and couple in before following behind at a close rate. "I doubt the dogs suffered any kind of injury, but....heheheheh" There was something disturbing about that laughter, then and there "Though I cant say the same for our new....friend"
Hazel eyes lifted to Christian as he spoke, although she should have been startled she wasn't. There wasn't much that anyone could do now a days that startled her. Venus gave a woof as if agreeing with Christian before the dogs converged on the man. They rolled around his legs like mini horses begging for attention, those stub tails wiggling as they licked at his hands. Rosalie snapped her fingers and they turned to look at her before all heading in the house. They knew to stop at the front door and all four dogs paused just inside the door. Marcello didn't really glare but he stared at Christian for a long moment before he spoke. "Did you get a look at the person?"
Rosalie allowed the boys to talk before she moved into the house and took the towel off the table near the door to clean the Dog's feet off. It was a ritual to make sure they didn't track mud or dirt into the house. Once the dogs paws where clean they charged into the house heading toward the kitchen for the bowls of water. Rosalie refolded the towel and glanced back at Christian before slipping the shoes off at the door.
"As I said, Ms Rosalie, I did not get a good enough look. I was a bit far from the action, but I still had a lovely view of one of the dogs taking a nice chunk out of the intruder. Though, judging from shapes alone, I did gather the intruder's a she. Lemme tell you, I know a female when I see one" Well, excetp that time he was in new orleans, but thats a dirty little secret NO ONE will ever know about. Opening the door, he allowed Marcello and Rosalie to walk in first, before he followed behind, shutting the door behind him.
"You know, I've been thinking....yeah, yeah, I know, before you even say it, I shouldnt try something Im not used to doing" Well, okay, thats actually something rowan would tell him, nonetheless. "Im not sure if you're familiar with the term and position Master of the City. But, back home, in the states, each major city was ruled by some master vampire. Im not sure if Rome has one or not, BUT...should you want to be even more successful than your father, I would highly suggest you set up a meeting with one....you know, just a thought. Having said Master Vampire back you in your...conquest, I think it would do well for you..." He said as he took a seat on one of the plush couches in the living room, as he watched marcello tend to the dog before joining his woman by her side. Finally, christian spoke once more as his calf crossed over and rested against the surface of his knee, fingers idly brushing up and down the length of his collar and sports coat. "You know....something to think about, in the future.....Im just saying..."
