Apologies to the Pack

Hakim had been absent from his newly found pack. It was not, however, his fault. It is something so innate and deep within his scarred body that he could not control his desire to vanish. He fled from Rome the moment he felt at home, the sudden warmth of the location infiltrated his body and infected the impenetrable wolven body. He ran away so fast and far that he could only vaguely remember the face of the one that took him in. He found himself in the borders of Switzerland and Germany, meandering through the streets like a dark ghost. But all he saw through those caramel colored eyes were the faces of the pack he left behind. The Polynesian wealth of Loki… The warm stone gaze of Ash… They found him everywhere and soon the guilt replaced the fear. It overwhelmed his body and caused him to fall to his knees. He stayed in that form so long he forgot how to move. Still and quiet with the same peace that monks held in their graceful meditation. Hakim could not let the fear make him cower in the face of acceptance.

And thus, slowly, he made his way back to Rome. He wondered how upset Ash would be with him and in that moment he decided he must make it up to the pack leader, to the one who welcomed him with such open arms. On the way back, he traveled through the forests and woods... Searching for the perfect timber. It was a slow and tedious process but it was the only thing he could do to justify his escape. He did not know what he would built just yet, all he knew was that he wanted to build something for the pack, for Ash, something special. Then in one slightly dim and slightly rainy day, Hakim arrived at the Pack House with his findings. He set to work immediately, slightly hoping no one would notice him sawing or constructing in the backyard.

The cup of tea was curled in both hands as she stared out the back door.  The faint noise of sawing and hammering was a faint thud against her ear drums.  Nose lowered slightly to inhale the rich warm smell of the black tea.  She drew in that long breath, almost tasting the flavor in the scent before she lifted it to her lips for that first sip.  She turned slowly from the back door and headed back to the kitchen.  Eyes flickering to Ash as he poured himself his coffee, it was really the only time they saw each other, early morning.  She nodded to him smiling before her cup of tea was set aside.

As usual, when she woke early, she started an extravagent meal for those that would wake later.  A virtual buffet of food, ham, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes and french toast.   Each left in it's own container, hoping there would be enough for each of the pack that would eat.  Scooping enough into a seperate plastic container she set it aside after putting the top on it. A thermus was filled with the rest of the tea in her pot before she added a couple packs of sugar into the thermal lunch bag.  Why they had one, Loke didn't know she had noticed it a while back when moving stuff around in the kitchen.  A fork was added to the bag as she headed out the back door.  The food would stay warm enough in the thermal bag.  It was cold outside, cold enough that it rose her hair on her skin and caused a shiver to crawl down her backside.

Bare foot she headed toward the sound and now the scent, her beast was eager however it was kept under lock and chain of late careful of her control of it.  Once Hakim came into view Loke smiled faintly.  She moved as close to him as she could without giving herself away and left the food and thermus on top of a pile of already cut wood before retreating back to the warmth of the pack house.

The rains had stopped for the most part, it seemed, and the air was now just cool a crisp. Llidya picked up the trailer by the hitch, and walked a semicircle to get turned in the right direction, before she started around the house, dragging the trailer along behind her. One of the better benefits of being a lycan. Chapman spotted the man, a wolf, working on something. She couldn't tell as to what yet, but she wasn't that close either. She turned her focus back on the trailer as she moved it to position it against the house, out of the way on the corner, before she turned to approach the new wolf.

He seemed very intent on his work, and she smirked as she stopped before him. She waited for him to pause in his sawing before she spoke.

"Hey. How ya doin? Name's Chapman." She held out her hand for a shake as she gave him a friendly smile. "You need any help? Or materials or anything?" She asked, hoping she could offer a hand. There was nothing like getting to know someone by helping them build something, if they wanted it. If he declined, she was fine with that too.
