How about we host an event night. Like someone (a mod, I can take the first round) hosts a room DnD style.
Basically how that'll work is the Dungeon Master will set the scene, people can enter, and then the DM can IM random characters and tell them that for example. Your character (Jane Doe) has just tripped on a lose crack in the pavement.
And then they play it out and if other characters want to respond to it, yay, if not. Then not yay.
Then the DM would IM another individual and tell them what happens to THEIR character for example (John Doe) sees a car theft in progress...and they can choose to act on it or not.
It's just something fun for those nights when things are slow.
ooooooo! i've done that before! it's actually a lot of fun, because you start with a scene, make it how ever you want, ad lib in between posts and then throw to others goofy shit or voilent or what ever. makes for a fun time.
GREEN BATON!!! -good, means yes RED BATON!!! -bad, means no BLUE BATON!!! -means dunno, go back YELLOW BATON!!! -means, doesn't matter what my opinion is anyway
Red baton. Cause if I wanted to play table top or video games then thats what I would be doing. Plus what happens when the person being the room moderator telling people what to do is a fucking moron? Then their moronics will consume the play. I mean you can IM people and suggest actions to them anyway without having some kind of weird DnD stuff going on. I can IM and say "hey Blue, have Tino trip on a rock haha" without having a night dedicated to that stuff.
And it isolates people from play who aren't interested in that type of play. Like if I am someone who cannot be on every night like some of us, and I happn to come on the night this is going on, then I lose my night of play and feel out of place.
Which again brings me back to if I wanted to play video games or table top games then I would be doing that instead of online FF RP.
Yeah, I am red battoning it as well. I like things to build based on character and enviornment. I mean if people are chatting in IMs like V said and discuss something happening and decide to play it out that is there business. But making an event out of it kind of is disruptive. I find it disruptive sometimes when I am in a room trying to meet new people, or do stuff and then someone randomly NPCs out something like...a shark attack (that happened once)....it was super obnoxious!!
