It was late, she wasn't exactly sure of the time but it didn't seem to matter because for the life of her the bear could not sleep. Feeling restless and unsure she rolled to her side along her bed, her feet kicked at the blankets for a moment before she fell back with her head onto a pillow and let out a long soft sigh. Her eyes were staring up endlessly at the ceiling, breathing was slow and even and no matter what she tried in order to relax she just couldn't . If she weren't leaving then she'd be very tempted to stop over and see Malcolm about requiring some sleeping pills. Not like it work but perhaps with a strong prescription?, you never know unless you try.
Sitting up on her bed she brought her arms over her chest and allowed her mind to wonder back to when she first met the good ol doctor. He was such a interesting man and the way he shied away had always made Lacey even more determined to get a smile from him. He would be missed greatly along with his brother Rvyer as well. There were others of course that would constantly remain in the Latino's heart. Like Vinny and Silent, they were the first of the happy family that she had encountered back on the Islands. Silent had disliked her from the start but the papa bear had been nice and later proved to be a dear friend when he conveniently stepped in to grant her a kiss in order to get the rather annoying bear out of the picture. Later Silent opened up to her and it hadn't been long before she met Ash their Ulfric. He held power unlike any other she had ever seen and secretly she admired not just the man but the wolf. It was her pleasure as well as a privilege to serve under one such as he.
Elena, Loke, Lexie and a few others followed after that. All were dear to her and all were ones that she'd be willing to lay down her life for. She remembered a time when she felt jealous of Lenni but it was silly, it wasn't due to anything of a childish nature. Perhaps jealous was the wrong word?.. maybe more like she envied the woman. Elena had Vinny and Lace had been drawn toward the man but now it seems it was definitely more out of friendship. Everything worked out great in the end, and she prayed that the two would be happy for the rest of their lives. Some day maybe she would be blessed with that kind of happiness, a partner to share her heart as well as her values of life. God how she would miss them all so much, hopefully she would not be gone to long but it was hard to tell with time.
Her brother seemed to get worse day by day, she hadn't told anyone that he was in the hospital but then she rarely talked about things that had come before she met the pack. A very personal woman indeed, lowering her head she brought her hands up to press against her forehead. All she could do now was be strong for both her pack and her brother's sake. They gave him two months to live so she needed to see him as soon as possible and do her best to stick it out to the end. It was hard at times being a lycanthrope because she would never know his pain and no human disease could take her as it was doing to her baby brother. He was suffering a great deal and the man handling Daniel's case had even suggested that she infect him!.
Of course it weren't as if she hadn't thought of it but when she tried to bring it up to Daniel over the phone he had lost his temper and he would have none of it. Said he didn't wish to be a disgusting monster like his sister. Her hands moved down to brush finger tips over closed lids. No more tears, she had allowed a few to leak but couldn't afford anymore right now. A glance was directed over toward her dresser to confirm that she had put the stack of letters there.
Luckily she had convinced the other two bears to sleep else where at least for tonight so that she could have some privacy as well as time to collect her thoughts. What exactly would she say to Ash?. How would he react with her just up and leaving?. It seemed she really had no choice because if she just left a letter it may seem rude, sighing softly she rose from her bed. Heading over she retrieved a robe from the closet, secured it around herself then pulling the letters from the dresser headed on out into the hall barefooted.
One by one she carefully pushed notes under doors addressed to.. Silent, Loke, Elena, Vinny, Lexie ,Memphis, Winter , Gina , Angel and Rvyer. Notes that explained why she had to go and how they would all be missed. She was going to pay a visit to Malcolm since he was still at the hospital and Ash if he was here. If the Ulfric was not here then she would wait a day and then head out or have to leave him a voice mail. Heading further down the hall way she came to Ash's door. Curling a hand she delivered a light knock, she didn't wait long figuring he had probably already stepped out. Down the stairs she went and then out the door needing a bit of air to calm her down a bit. A light wind began to pick up so the bear pressed her hands down into her pockets and for a brief second confusion creased her brow. Something was still in her pocket?, funny she was positive that she had given all the notes already. Fingers wrapped around the envelope and with a tug she had it out and was holding it out to examine the name wrote across the front of it..

Apparently she had written one for her as well. Not having fully accepted that the woman was dead, closing her eyes she brought a hand up to press fingers along the bridge of her nose. The letter was tossed to the ground and part of hoped the ground would split open and swallow her hole. Going home was hard and it had taken so long to bury the memories of the attack but she knew the day would come when she'd have to go back and face the demons she desperately tried so hard to get away from..
The bear rose up to the surface fast threatening to over take it's host, the power was strong and so very inviting that she was ever so tempted to allow the change. Of course she knew better then that but something primitive wanted a tick for tack as they say. Hands fell back against the trunk of the tree as she turned and the growl couldn't be suppressed when she took to raking fingers down the tree, the claws extended a little and as hands came further down they caught in the tree's bark.
She shot a bare foot out to kick the tree followed shortly by the other, it was rare for the alpha to let herself go. But a little was better then the full enchilada!.. Her head fell back causing waves of silken brown to cascade down along her back and she fought the call that had the bear wanting to roar out in frustration. Her eyes faltered between her usual chocolate brown and a light mixture of yellow ember. The picture of the bear took hold of her mind but the alpha would not surrender completely to it no matter how bad she needed the shift. Feet kept a firm purchase of the ground while hands raked further down the tree. Crimson drops etched out beneath nails and the smell held that intoxicating lure that would often bring over one of lower rank. It would not do for anyone to see her like this, her claws retracted and down to her knees she slid with her forehead still resting against the trunk of the tree.
