Sitting in the passenger seat as Lacey drove them to the Hookah...She would play with the radio..Every station having the same thing.Breaking news.God she didnt want to hear it. Slamming her hand against the off button she would sit back and pull out a cigarette from the white and red pack that laid on the dashboard.
She didnt say much to Lacey as the bear talked..Trying to pull the she wolf from her silence..Only giving small grunts when asked questions...She didnt want to talk..Especially about what happened the night before. She was usless last night.Maybe had she focused more on her gifts...Or the ones of the munin who stayed close...Maybe she could of helped more then she had.
Maybe if she would of listened to Memphis and dragged Lyrics ass out with Mahina..Then..God damn it to hell. There would of been no good outcome in this. If Lyric hadnt of died...Then Memphis would of.God why couldnt they all of stayed in the sleepy town of Salem. They were safe and happy there.
The truck would pull into the hookah parking lot that already had a few cars that belonged to the employees and a few others who would be chased out of the place once she was inside. Stepping in the restrant she would tell Vasha to pull out the Capt's mix. Everyone was gonna need a drink werent they.
"Alright folks..Sorry but were closed."
Thats all that would be said as she held the door open for whoever left. Once the last one was out she would lock the door turning to the staff she had come to call family. Everyone from Jimmy to Charro. She hated to lose any of them.Taking a deep breath she would lean against the door.
" Were closing our doors for good. Theres something bad brewing. I know you all can feel it I saw it. I want you all gone. Ive booked all of you flights to Seattle. My ex brother in law is there...Hes gonna help set those of you who want to stay there...And those of you who would rather stay with our "family" can go to New Orleans. My orginal restrant and club is there..Vasha, take the Capt with you there. But I want you all gone before the shit hits the fan."
Fingers would move to rub her temples.Silent didnt have unlimited funds..But for this family...She would clean out her bank accounts. Tri colored hues would move to Jimmy the most recent addition to the family..Then to the crazy panda...She worried about them two the most.
" I cant promise lots of money but what ever I can do for any of you I will. "
The drive over was short but seemed long due to the heavy atmosphere that surrounded them in the confines of the truck. Lace had attempted conversation but that of course met only with grunts and a look that screamed fuck off or die. Lace rolled her eyes upward and silently prayed for some patience in order to get them through the long haul ahead of them. At least they had the radio to keep the space from going dead er wait spoke to soon. Lace tilted her head and reframed from commenting when Silent took to beating the poor helpless radio to death..
Following suit she moved with Silent once they were parked toward the door of The Hookah. She stayed close and when they met the door she threw it aside and caught it with her other hand allowing the wolf to enter before her. A wave was gifted to Vasha and when the woman brought the Capt's mix out the bear would wrinkle her nose and with a all knowing look Vasha would bring out the bottle of beer she had brought along once she had spotted Lace with Silent. A nod of gratitude was given as Lace captured the beer by the neck and drug it on over to herself. It hurt to watch as Silent filled them all in that their current jobs were no longer avaible and that they all had to relocate. It figured, just when she was beginning to get comfortable with them. She raised the beer in a toast to their safe journey and then tipped the beer and took a swig.
It was getting to Silent, Lace could see that from the way the woman was rubbing at her temples. It seemed she still blamed herself for what had happened to Lyric. And now all of them looked as if they were going to drop down into the sewers with sadness and frankly Lace didn't blame them but there had to be something she could do to ease the tension a bit. Another swig of her beer was taken before Lace moved over to stand behind her gently placing her hands on Sil's shoulders. Her cheek brushed the woman's, she whispered.."Breath" and then gently took to kneading at the knot gathered there. Power warm and inviting rose up to surround the room offering up a security blanket that hopefully helped in easing any tension from the stale air.
