Vel'Aknomir had made an appointment with the Seelie, that had taken him and his twin weeks to discover. Sure, Silk had guided them in the right direction, but it still took their powers of hunting, persuasion and cajoling to get the information they needed. He had killed several UnSeelie and Seelie alike, much to his brothers dismay, with his technique of information gathering, but he was not going to leave them alive to go back and squeal to Her and destroy the twins tiny veil of invisibility on her radar.
Finally, the last one was what gave them the break through. The way he begged for mercy, the tears he shed... what a waste of good suffering. Disgusted with how easy it was to get the information they needed, the twins spent the next week arguing over who was going to seek therapy. It was a rather comical sight really, and why wouldn't it be? How was it that two killers could not decide who was going to act troubled and try to lure the female into falling for them and reveal the information that they wanted for Mel's precious vampire, that Vel was still having trouble accepting the whole situation, but had promised his brother he wouldn't be so closed minded about it all. Much to his disliking.
So, there he was, standing outside her office, trying to figure out what the fuck he was seeing this woman for. He wasn't crazy, she'd know it by the feel of the wards that surrounded her office, so he was going to have to come up with a doozy. Glamour was solidly in place, but she'd see through it. Plus, it would be an insult, even if she was a Light One. They grossed Vel out. But, here went nothing.
Stepping into her office, he hissed softly as her power wrapped around his own, causing a look of disgust to cross the chiseled features. Shaking it off, the crystal blues looked over to her receptionist, a toothy grin formed as he swaggered on over, dressed in his usual jeans, snake skin boots and opened white dress shirt, revealing the tanned flesh and toned body. He felt the desire skyrocket from her receptionist, draping himself along her desk. "I'm here to see the Doctor..." His voice was thick in brogue, eyes slowly traveling the woman's body, as of he was drinking her in like a starved man for water. He knew The Light One would feel his power and come out at the moment of feeling it's touch, not worrying one iota about it.
At the rate things were going, Bree ran a high risk of turning into those people for whom the phrase "All work and no play..." was invented. Granted her concept of time wasn't like that of everyone else, but somehow time managed to run away from her. What started out to be a rock solid plan with a concrete time table, turned into something else entirely. Perhaps it were the play of powers among the islands that kept distracting the Seelie, or that pesky inherent nature to reach out and help. Or at least help within the scope of her ability and understanding of the whole concept of helping. The Fae tended to see things through at an entirely different angle than mortals. Faye Help rarely came for free, and it was rarely of benefit to only one party.
Still, when Bree found out yet another new patient was being added to her already lengthy list, the Seelie all but said no. Things kept going at this pace and she would never leave her office. Not that it wasn't such a bad thing, she liked her space. The dark wood, the rugs, the furniture was so anti Hawaii it was like her own private haven that the rest of the world didn't know about. Not even the other fae on the island. She had gone to great lengths to conceal it's existence save for those few who were allowed in. Unfortunately it didn't mean such measures were full proof. At times Bree wondered if the faye let their secrets slip intentionally if only for the intrigue they would cause.
Right now the papers on her desk kept her thoughts to busy for her to waste time on frivolous thoughts. There was virtually no information on the new patient. Just a name, age, address, method of payment was cash, no insurance. Method by which he found Bree? Referral from a friend. Which put him in the rich and snooty circle no doubt. Very few of her clients made less than seven figures a year. Not that it was a great way of judging character, but for what she needed out of the human population, the rich and the influential group seemed like a good place to start. Till now.
The odd tickle of power that brushed against her scenes didn't get Bree's attention right away. It was when the feeling didn't go away that she began to pay heed. It felt strange and familiar at the same time. Not a combination that made her feel all warm and fuzzy. The less visitors from the home the better. It was with considerable effort that Bree rose from her throne like chair and made her way to the waiting room. That was the downside of having your office in your home, there was no place to run an hide. Maybe she could rent a spot somewhere in the center of Honolulu. Nice and public. Letting her fingers hover over the door handle, she felt the energies on the other side. Veiled but definitely Fae in nature. A frown all but appeared on her face, but Bree caught the expression in time and put on a mask of a pleasant if yet professional smile and opened the door.
The smile fell, for an instant before it was back up in full force. The creature on the other side of the doorway was indeed a Fae. A dark thing from the UnSeelie court and it was standing in her waiting room. An annoyed glance was sent in Stephanie's direction when Bree noticed the woman all but drooling at the man's feet. "Stephanie, I don't think I will require your services till tomorrow, why don't you call it an early day." There was no give in her voice as she all but told the woman to get the hell out. Last thing Bree needed was some innocent's blood trail leading back to her office. With what sounded like a sigh, the secretary saw herself out, leaving Bree to face the UnSeelie at her doorstep. With one elegant eyebrow arched, Bree regarded the man ...thing, for a long moment before titling her head in a short sort of a greeting as she stepped aside. " Perhaps somewhere along in my family tree there is a cat, fore I find myself curious as to why you are here." The words felt like frozen honey drops as Bree moved away from the doorway that separated the waiting area from the rest of the office proper. "Do not be afraid, no harm shall befall you while you are a guest here."
