It did take a while yes, but Evelyn did make good on her word, well she probably made good sooner, but Daddy never really jumped on the oppertunities his daughter presented for him. but Evelyns Father did as his daughter asked and placed a call to Nori's phone. No answer but he left a voicemail.
"Miss Nori, This is Stephen Pierce My Daughter Evelyn has informed me that you have recently found yourself unemployed, and she tells me that you are very useful with computers and computer systems... I would like very much to speak with you about a potential bit of freelance work. you can reach me at the number that you see on your caller identification."
Nori had finally found time to call, albeit a few days later then the call should have been made but she did call back. She had listened to the message and her brows rose in shock. She had only though Evelyn would say something to her father as a joke. She didn't think the man would personally call her.
After finally deciding, yes she needed income, that the government issued check for her retirement wasn't enough she finally called back. At night, when she hoped she didn't have to talk directly to him. Thankfully his voicemail picked up.
"Hello Mr. Pierce, this is Nori. Thank you so much for calling me on your daughters behalf. I'd very much like to speak with you on any Computer Administration or Computer System jobs you might have available. I have a resume ready that I can either mail, fax or give to your daughter for your review. I look foward to hearing from you again. Thank you."
Ugh! She was as nice as possible and still sounded grumpy in her tone. Apparently the girl didn't know how to look a gifted horse in the mouth.
