Fingers pinched the bridge of her nose as she gave Aine a wave and headed for the back room. This at the moment was parted into two sections. A small office and the freight area, break room. Bypassing the Freight area, Loke headed toward her office. She pushed the door open, and stepped in, leaving the door open in case Aine needed her for anything. The first night had been wonderful; she had made half of her capital up overnight. And since then, well it'd been going good. It was going to take time to make it as big as she wanted but for now it was going wonderfully. At least two pieces sold a day, which was all Loke could ask for, what with the mortgage market crisis. Very glad she had her own place and her own building. Nothing save the gods coming down and snatching her out of her gallery would keep her from it.
Well endowed rear settled into the roller chair as she kicked her shoes off letting it fall to the floor. Feet pushed them away not wanting the heels anywhere near her. Plus if people wanted to do a meet and greet she had to look somewhat professional. Hands shifted the paperwork to the side of the newly sold paintings. Each would get a Thank you Card in the mail and a rating card. After all if they where doing something wrong they would need to know about it to solve it.
TV remote was lifted as she pushed herself out of the chair with a grunt. She turned on the large camera set up and started the security tapes. Rear perched on her desk as she swung her feet. She put it on four screen mode, and skipping every five seconds. It was rather a boring job, but one she had long been accustomed too. She had done the same thing to her tattoo shops, not only to protect her employees but also to protect her customers. Amber eyes danced from frame to frame, just watching the flickering people on the black and white screens.
All was good and wonderful till the end of Saturday's tape. She came up off the desk, hand fumbling with the remote as she paused it. WHAT THE FUCK?!?!? Someone was having sex in her gallery! She inches closer to the screen, hitting the pause button to make it move frame by frame. KEIKO!!!! WHAT! Fire burned in her gut like some kind of volcanic eruption! This was her God Damn Gallery, if anyone should be christening the place it should be her! How dare they! Oh yeah, her and Keiko where going to have to have words about this! She growled low in her throat turning to scribble down the time scrolled across the bottom of the tape. She continued to watch that stormy anger growing thicker and thicker. She had no clue who the man was, but he had bought the painting that they had SEX under. What a prick! Eyes focused on the male figure as he moved from one area to another switching out of camera then appeared at the camera near the door. Thumb depressed the pause button and she caught his face, and the wink tossed toward the video camera.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!? YOU SICK BASTARD!" The remote crashed into the wall shattering into a million little pieces. She growled low in her throat, as Aine came to the back looking startled by the loud noise. Of course, she had to rewind the tape and play it back for Aine so she could see what had happened. It was even on her shift when it happened, not that she could fault the women. Some people are sneaky and if she was cleaning or tending to the front desk there would have been no way to see them from the front.
Loke flickered her eyes back to the paperwork on who had brought the painting. Poppy Flowers, the name of the painting. She licked her thumb and quickly flicked through the paperwork till she came to the name and address. She smirked. "Gotcha. I think we're going to have a little talk."
Eyes focused on the print out in hand as she reclined in her rolling chair. It was a distorted black and white print out off the computer, that showed the man's face. Her Lawyer, James Harris III was white noise in her ear, from the phone propped up against it. "Of course, there are indecency laws but that's usually for a public place. However, you might be able to make it seem like your gallery is a public place. You do have a guest book yes?" James went silent waiting for her answer to come. After a long enough pause he spoke again. "Lokelani, are you even listening to me?"
She blinked faintly as he said her name setting the picture down on her desk. "No, I'm not listening. I don't see why I can't handle this myself. I mean I know I called you and everything but, why can't I just handle this myself?" Head tilted to the side to keep the phone stuck between her shoulder and ear.
"Listen women, you called me in a rant about this. I'm telling you what you can do LEGALLY! I ain't talking about none of that ghetto shit you be doing Loke." James' voice had hit an all time low.
Grin spread her lips upward and she couldn't help but laugh at his anger. "I know I know, but that ghetto shit, it works. Besides, suing someone is so impersonal. I want to get up in this asshole's face when I knock on his door and ram my fist into his nose." A smirk followed making her look just that much more pissed off.
"Loke, ain't nothing gonna be solved with violence. Nothing but you; being thrown in jail for putting your hands on some stranger."
"Everything can be solved with Violence James. And my kind of fun is violence." She grinned listening to him sigh on the other end.
"Girl, I don't know what we're going to do with you. If I wasn't bald, I would have lost my hair from the stress you give me." Another resigned sigh escaped from across the phone lines.
Reclining more in the chair she laughed. "James, I value you as a friend and as a Legal attorney. I'm sure you're wife doesn't want me giving you an ulcer, so I won't resort to violence. How's that? "
"I'll believe it when I see it. Call me later, that is if they throw you're happy ass in jail. My dinner is getting cold."
"Talk to you later, James. Tell you're wife I'll be waiting here for her, for when she leaves you alright?"
James could only laugh; it had been a running joke between the two of them for years. They hung up and Loke glanced down at the picture again, lifting it up as she stared at the winking face. “Oh yes friend, we are going to have a talk me and you."
