The End of the Chapter

The whine of a amplifier echoed down the blocked off street as the band tuned it's instruments.   It was the grand Fourth of July celebration.  The city had blocked off Main street for the mile along between Washington and Pele Point.  Arranged in rapid succession along either side of the street, street vendors and hawkers called out.   The street was lined with hundred's of people, women, men, children, older folks.  Everyone knew this was the place to be on the 4th of July.   At the end of Main before the intersection of Washington and Main, the large stage was erected.   Thankfully the weather had cleared for the time being.  Although the clouds hung in the sky, it didn't yet rain or rumble in the thought of rain.

The sound of Hawaiian music filled the corridor of the street, letting people dance and sing along.  Once darkness fell the vibe was good and the music kept going.  Beer flowed from the taps and watered the parched throats of the dancers and just browsers.   Time slowed down, black eyes watching from down the road.  The silver dodge sat like a silent sentinel as the driver leaned forward glancing at her wrist watch.

The second hand ticked slowly, seemingly so small.  Time seemed to stop the second before the hand crossed the 10 on the watch.   Hands moved to lift the binoculars, and placed them to her eyes.  Already the booming of the fireworks started, it was the perfect cover.   The first glittering spread of fire across the sky was the heralding of the terror to come.

Six

Five

Four

Three

Two

One

The ground gave a wild shake and the explosions seemed to happen all at the same time.  If not but a few seconds between, feet buckled as the ground rippled beneath feet.  It was sudden, fire and asphalt was thrown into the sky in that arch of a horse shoe.  The squeal of the amplifiers being destroyed was drown out as the last of the gas main blew.

Heat, smoke, screaming, blood.   Dead bodies littered the tore up street.  Screams echoed from all around as those burned but still alive struggled to put out the fire searing flesh.   It was as if
Hawaii was in fact hell.   People where dying all around, writhing in pain, screaming in terror.  Mother's screaming out children's name, Children screaming in that high pitched tearful sound.

Binoculars where lowered, head tilted to gaze up out of the window as the fireworks continued.  Seat handle was gripped and back pushed the seat down as she reclined, enjoying the sounds of screaming over the sound of fireworks going off.  Chaos in it's truest form.

The fourth of July. A whole lot of noise and fanfare for the celebration of a bunch of rich white guys saying 'fuck you' to the British man and refusing to pay their taxes. Their forefathers were kinda freeloaders, weren't they? Still, any excuse to run around eating funnel cake and laughing and watching things explode in the air was a-okay with Ms. Evie. Independence Day had always been a pain in the ass when she'd been in the looney bin. Crazy people don't like loud noises. Evie had been counted among them.

But, that was the past. The empathetic telemetric was all about moving on and making a life for herself in the present. Thus, the parade. It was terrifying, really, to be faced by the wild emotions of so many hundreds of people, all of them excited, half of them drunk. But, she wasn't going to let her fear of losing control keep her locked up in her room. Not tonight. She was bustling her way through the fringe of the crowd, mumbling a few "sorry"s although she didn't mean half of them. Seriously, people. Learn to make way for traffic. Bleh. Moody Evie was never fun, so she tried to focus on the funnel cake in her gloved hands.

She'd gone patriotic with her clothing. Really, goin' all out this year. Sure, it was still just her usual old jeans with a white tank-top and red sneakers, but still. She'd put forth an effort. The big thing were her gloves: they had stars on them. Oh, yes. She was proud to be an American. She'd even combed her black hair tonight, so that it was a bit more styled than the usual mop on her head. And, yes. She'd taken a few of the make-up tips she'd learned from Barbie. The lady couldn't throw away all of her clothes, damnit. She wasn't going to turn into America's Next Top Model over night. Plus she was six inches shy. ... digressing.

Grey eyes scanned the crowd as she stood on tippy-toe towards its edge, looking for familiar faces. Ash, or Loke ... maybe even Marcus would come to grace the crowds with ... horniness. Or whatever it was he did. She was never sure if everyone else felt like their heart would explode with love when he was around, or if it was simply because she truly loved him. Who knew. She was also lookin` out for Barbie and Milo, the gang from the Pack House ... ooh, maybe Toni would finally be leaving her apartment. She hadn't seen Alyssa in a few days, either? Her two human friends her own age. Other than Dina. Where was that girl? They were missing all of the fireworks! She jumped up on top of a light pole, to better see above the many gathered heads. She was short, damnit.

Fire lit the sky in blues and greens, purples and golds and silvers. For a moment, it was like being back in New Orleans. Except she didn't feel as if death were looming over her. Sure, possible sexual and mental enslavement to an ancient crazy vampire, but ... not death, exactly.

A huge blast had just gone up into the sky, the firework's circumference seeming to cover the sky. It was beautiful, really. She was so involved in the display that she didn't notice the rumble, at first. The vibration in her feet. In the split second before the blast rocked her, she hadn't even thought about it. She'd been staring happily at the sky like every other poor sap. And the next moment, she was flying. The blast sent her off of the light, petite body slamming into the pavement. All around her, people were falling in slow motion. Bits of red here, scared faces and silent screams. She should have known something was wrong ... she couldn't hear anything but a crackling, popping hum. It was like watching a silent horror film. Feet pounded around her, people running for their lives. She couldn't be bothered to move ... not yet. She was watching. Waiting for reality to kick in.

Slowly, she sat up, staring blankly at the ground. There was a big hole. With smoke and fire and people sleeping for the rest of their lives. Thank God she was in shock, or else the might of peoples emotions could have overwhelmed her. There was a small silver lining to the concussion, in a way. Absently, a hand went to the back of her head, her black hair wet at one spot. Plastered to her skull. Pulling her glove back, she saw the dark smear on the dark blue cotton, a brilliant red where the blood had seeped into the stars stitched there. She was bleeding. Red, white, and blue.

Huh.

And all around her, people were still screaming and running and dying. God help her when she snapped out of it. God help them all.

All day, there had been barbecues, drinking, and the inevitable red, white, and blue. To Lexi, it was just another day that allowed her to watch people get royally drunk while she remained sober. Not that she wasn't drinking. Oh, no. She had a red thermos filled with one of her favorite concoctions. It was usually served in a shot glass. But why bother carrying one of those around when she could just drink directly from the thermos?

She'd dressed in very short denim shorts, a faux denim tank top, and flip-flops for the evening, with one of those miniature backpack purses to hold her wallet and keys. Some time had been spent on the beach with Loke, John, and Juran, but she'd left them to search out something to eat. Even she needed food to offset the alcohol she was imbibing.

Meandering down the street, she checked each vendor's wares. Fried Chicken? No. Funnel Cake? Definitely. Ah, now that was her kind of main dish. Barbecued ribs. With her food collected, she headed out of the crush to eat without being jostled all over the place. The ribs were perfect and the funnel cake absolutely divine. Fingers caught up every last bit of powdered sugar left behind before throwing the paper plates into the nearest trash can.

Emerald gaze turned up to the sky as the first of the official fireworks lit up the night with their colorful display. It was seconds later that she registered the rumble beneath her feet. An earthquake? One of the volcanoes? Wrong on both counts, she soon found. The explosion was deafening, muting the screams of the dieing and the terrified. Fires broke out, people were trampled by their peers.

Lexi seemed to be one of the luckier ones. Standing so close to one of the stalls, it had taken the brunt of the damage. That isn't to say she went unscathed. No, blood trickled down the left side of her face and neck from the gash made by a flying piece of asphalt. As so often is the case, once she saw the blood the wound began to hurt. Hand clamped over the wound to stem the flow of blood. It wasn't terribly deep or long, but head wounds bled profusely. Blood ran into her eye and no amount of brushing it away would clear it enough to see.

She moved carefully, helping the mobile wounded to clear spaces where they could wait for the paramedics to arrive. Memories of another scene of blood and death attempted to paralyze her, but she ruthlessly pushed them away. She had to help those she could. The only thing that could make this any worse would be for any lycanthrope to shift. Even as the thought entered her head she prayed that it wouldn't happen.

``God, please don't let it happen. Please get us through this.``

One could almost appreciate just how nice these celebrations where, and for Miyu it was a welcome distraction.  Spending nearly every waking moment going over text on Seven-Tails with the help of Hachi, who was her eyes for now.   It was delightfully wonderful to get out of the house but there was always a down fall.  The fact that where ever Hachi went, people where attracted to ask questions about the Shrine Dog and try to touch him.  While it amused the Air Elemental to have his form fussed over, it wasn't much good coverage for the witch.  But she wasn't about to chase away the gaggle of children and parents standing around her nearly all talking at once about the unique characteristics of the dog that sat at her feet.

Thankfully when the first blossom of light across the sky sprang over head the voices stopped, and soft oooohs and ahhhs echoed out instead of questions.  Hand set on Hachi's head for the moment, making that connection as that fuzzy view entered her minds eye.  Light exploding in the sky, too bad it was in black and white.  Lips curled into a smile of happiness, even if it was in black and white it'd been the first time she'd seen fireworks in over five years.

That happiness was abruptly ended, the rummbling didn't register.  Nope, simply ignored because her mind couldn't place what could cause it.  When the road however exploded outwards that she did register.  Pain seered her back as something unknown hit her full force, it would have sent her stummbling had the air not been there to catch her.  Hachi, was on all four feet, head tilted back in a long mournful howl.  But in fact it was not a mourning howl, the elemental was calling on the rain clouds.  Calling on rain to fall, if it worked who knew.

Sucking air into her lungs she felt her feet touch the ground and then the screams started.  It was barily five seconds between the explosion.  What had happened?! Addreneline pumping wildly through her veins. "Link with me!"  A command given to the elemental.  When his furred body touched her the power living within her burst free like some kind of wild storm.  The air spread like water among the people, fire while it grows with air can be put out if the air is sucked out of that area.  Those on fire or burning would be smoothered.  There was no denying what Miyu was at this very moment.  The air lifted her nearly a foot off the ground, hovering her above the destruction as she pulsed with power.  That air seeking to at least help who it could.  A hand lifted toward the sky, pulling on the air and swirling clouds above.  It was only with Hachi's power added was she able to pull rain from the clouds.  It began light, misty even before it turned into dropplets and then it was a heavy soaking rain.

Feet touched the ground and she stummbled, her back was wetter then it should be.  Arm reached back gropping at what ever had hit her to see what type of damage there was.  Fingers stopped dead, curling around the piece of metal that was sticking at least a good three inches into her side.  She felt the addrenaline easing from her body, the last of the high gone and her eyes flickered before a hand was put out in front of her and she ended up on the ground.  Hachi's mournful howls echoing in her ears.  As that cleansing rain kept falling, mingling blood and water together all along the street.

The fourth of July. What had just been any other day for Avery suddenly took on a new meaning. She'd never actually been in the states on the holiday, and with all the goings on in the city, she was almost overwhelmed with the excitement. The food, the colors. The bands and parades. And someone said something about fireworks. Avery had never seen fireworks. Well on TV but that wasn't the same.

Yeah, she could have watched them from the balcony of her appartment building, but that wouldn't have been as much fun. Wandering along the street, a broad grin on her face, she looked everywhere she could, and was going to end up giving herself a crick in her neck if she didn't stop it soon. The wonderful sugary smell of funnal cake hit her nose and drew Avery towards it. And soon she was back walking along, index and thumb covered in powdered sugar and oil from the sweet goodness of the confection.

A boom from above had her head comming up quickly, surprised by the loud sound and her eye's dazzled by the lights in the sky, and only after a few moments of stareing dumbstruck at the sky did she feel the ground rumbling beneath her. what the hell? Were fireworks so strong they could make the whole island shake? And then on the heels of the next explosion of lights in the sky, the street seemed to explode outwards, and the force of it sent the petite little female flying forward a few feet. Funnal cake forgotten as it flew from her hands, and she landed hard. Forgetting what she'd always been told, that you shouldn't try to catch yourself. It was an automatic reaction. you do it to keep your head from cracking into whatever your going to land on.

Either way your going to bonk your head in any case so catching yourself really dosn't help all that much, so why do it? Avery's forhead connected with the cracked pavement, sliding slightly and giving a nasty road burn along her forhead and the tip of her nose. But what had her crying out, was the slight crack comming from her right arm. pain lancing up through her forearm from her wrist and down into her fingertips as well, as she rolled to her side, holding her hand to her chest for a few minutes, and finally rolled onto her back. Teeth clenched as she tried to fight back tears and the urge to scream like a baby that it hurt. Low pain threshold sucks! Stareing up, baffled as the fireworks still exploded above her, and all the while, she could hear people screaming in pain and in fear as they ran, or they died there in the street as chaos won out.

Slowly she got to her feet. Stumbling slightly over the uneven ground. Heading towards the sight of strobeing lights and the sound of sirens. Keeping her hand against her stomach, she would help people up with her good hand if she could, and it looked like it would be ok for them to move. What the hell had happend? Shivering slightly from shock, she kept moving. Had to keep moving.....had to keep moving.....

After Christmas and after Halloween and after her birthday, the Fourth of July was Lillian Bradshaw's most favoritest holiday. Perhaps it had to do with all of the fireworks and the fact that for one day, just one single twenty-four hours, Americans celebrated as one. Even if it is for the fact that the great forefathers of this nation were tired of those crazy Red Coats. But those notions were no where near the cute little blonde's mind. Nope! This fine evening she was out and about with her lovely older sister, Janey poo. The petite femme was practically leading her older sister by the hand. The woman really did have the attention span of a fruit fly. For every new thing she saw there were five other things that caught her eye. And none held her attention for more than a few minutes. But in general, it was just her and Jane having a ball of a time. They completely forgot that this was the first time they celebrated the Fourth in a foreign island, without their parents or any of their family members. It was just these two crazies out in the world, enjoying their young years. And in that moment, that realization, Lili turned to Jane with a smile to match the fireworks soon-to-be overhead. It was a simple smile, the kind of smile that said thank you.

Five foot two frame leaned on the shoulder of the five foot five. Tonight Janey decided for something a bit more festive than her usual dark denim jeans and cowboy boots. She was in full Rodeo regalia. That meant complete rhinestones from the tippy tippy top of that cowboy hat alllll the way down to her cowboy boots. Every color on her frame was either red, white, or blue. But mostly white. Lillian couldn't help but smile at her sister's getup. It did, however, remind her of home and the rodeos they used to hold all the time in Oklahoma. Lili, however, was in a denim mini skirt and a white button down. Red flip flops on her feet exposed the woman to her natural short stature. The sisters. So opposite, yet so similar. The blonde's small hand encircled that of the brunette's. They stopped walking because someone advised the fireworks were to start soon. It gave Lili just enough time to run off to purchase a giant turkey leg and was on her way to Jane's side when the fireworks started. Lili hurried to reach her sister but would never do so. All along the streets, the road began to thunder and shake, like Elvis' hips.. But this was no rock and roll. No. There was fire from these explosions - decorating the streets with its own set of fireworks. Screaming hit Lili's ears but that was second.. Second only to the imminent smell and feel of fire. Fire was everywhere. The heat pressed against her pale flesh. Burning the white cloth of her button down and the denim of her mini skirt. Lillian tried her very best to take it off, take it all off but it was no use. The cloth had already melted into her skin. She ran.

At last the blonde fell to her knees and tried to stop drop and roll but it was to no avail. Not when the fire felt like it would seep under her skin and send her intestines on fire. There was light cooling sensation.. it was wet and it dampened the fire... only a little. But by now, the blonde's eyes had grown closed. Before unconsciousness crept over her small frame and took her completely, she let out a feeble attempt of a call; a call for the only one she knew would take care of her - protect her from anything and everything, ``Janey..`` It was faint. But it should have been enough for her sister.

It grew black. She couldn't see anything or feel anything except for the heat. The ever present heat, but even that seemed to die as her vision turned from fuzzy to completely dark. Her body then went limp, her brain going into survival mode and knocking the blonde unconscious.

Llidya was watching the back of Lyl's head, and the giant monitor that she'd had installed on the wall. It took up surprisingly little space, as it hardly extended out and with Llidya's help Lyl had been able to help Wendy and Blaise move the few things that were there to the side. As promised, Llidya didn't look at crime scene photos while the two women were there. They were out front taking a break, and Lyliyana was doing all the clicking for her.

Lyliyana didn't seem to mind, only because she knew Llidya was looking at the files to solve mysteries. The more Llidya thought about it, the more it didn't make sense. And still every once in a while the occasional 'Eeeww' would come from the blond.

Llidya, being a statue, couldn't reply of course. She paused in her thought process a moment, glancing inward at the fox, who seemed to be grinning at her. He swished four of his seven tails, the other three remaining still on the ground. It was a charade, Llidya knew. They were as close as any demigod and human had ever been, she was sure, and she knew he was putting on an act. He wasn't afraid exactly, but he wasn't as cocky as he had been. All because of the dozens of unidentifiable forms that were lurking just outside the tower of jade. They'd gotten close, but that didn't help one iota in identifying them, and they were so thick now Llidya couldn't see past them. She felt smug, in a sense, looking back out to Lyliyana and the monitor.

The first pops of fireworks could be heard, and Llidya had to wonder at the adaptibility of humanity. Lyl, Blaise and Wendy had told her in detail what was going on outside. The murky black cloud with the strange lightning and other unheard of weather. And still they were carrying on with the fireworks. Unbelievable. Except it was Independance Day, and what better way to distract yourself from the Apocolypse than to get plastered and blow yourself up with a bottle rocket?

Next one. Zoom in on the bottom right hand corner. Lyliyana did as she asked, humming that damn Mulberry Bush song as she did. Llidya now knew all the lyrics to it, and probably would never forget them as long as she lived.

It was then she felt a far off kind of rumble, followed quickly by one right after the other. Each one seemed to get closer and more intense. She felt the concussive waves slam against her stone in a way she didn't think possible, before the final wave set her to rocking. Oh shit!

She watched as Lyliyana turned from jumping out of her seat, her eyes widening as Llidya felt balance give way and she fell. The Jade Statue hit one of the work tables with a crash, and Llidya felt the sensation of pain roll through her body once more. The sound of stone cracking pierced through the little work space. Oh no oh no! Is it okay? Is the necklace okay? Jesus Lyl tell me it's still there!

She felt pain wrack her entire body, except for her left hand.

Lyliyana had reached for her, but knew there was no way that she could catch the statue. Her hand came to her mouth in a gasp as she landed against one of the work tables, before she sort of hopped from one foot to the other. At Llidya still barking in her mind, Lyliyana moved aside a fallen stool and leaned over to look at Llidya's neck. The crucifix was fine, and Lyliyana straightened, nodding.

"Yes Llidya their fine, only you're broken a bit and I'm going to get help righting you. Be right back." Like a flash Lyliyana was out the door and up the stairs, calling for Blaise, or Tommy, or Wendy, or Sera to come help her set the statue upright.

As Llidya was straightened, Lyliyana leaned over and picked up the jade P-90 that had once been attached to the statue's side. She held up the gun to show Llidya and then set it down.

"You lost your gun."

The cracks were even worse than before, and it was only then that Lyliyana saw her left hand. Her lips parted slightly, and she felt queasy as she held up three more pieces of the statue, fingers all of them. And Llidya was bleeding profusely from the wounds. Lyliyana stared at the wound, unable to say a word before she simply passed out.

Master of the Islands

Requiem had just finished cutting the ribbon for the new hospital when all hell decided to break loose on the Islands inhabitants. Lights streaked the skies and fire rained down upon them, evil born of it's worse carnation. A pure wreckage was taking place and right before the ground rumbled with the oncoming thunder that would no doubt be a unperceivable slaughter he had moved. A arm shooting around the waist of his ever faithful assistant Claire and with a turn he bestowed the audience around with the ever charming baritone of his voice drawling them in like moths to a flame and once they all granted him with the brilliance of their utmost attention he would throw out words easily rolling their minds with a unconscious push to leave the area and to flee to their homes. And just to make sure that they followed suit to the under line meaning behind each rolled syllable he would allow a boom to his voice throwing a harsh undertone to it.

People scattered here and there but luckily most of the falling debris missed the crowd in which only moments early he had contained. Claire was pulled along and for now he allowed his violin Juliet to be left along the asphalt moving toward a awaiting car. Claire turned as if to question the Master's motives but she was cut off sharp with a look that spoke volumes and then in she was pushed and the slam of the car's door met her hands when she pounded along the cold glass. He hadn't the time to fret over wether or not his assistant got hurt for there were more then a handful in need of his services. He caught sight of a news van but ignored it as he turned to scout out the area, a lot were faces that he wasn't familiar with yet among the strong of them one in particular caught his attention.

It seemed Evie was among them, she was someone of great important to Marcus. Requiem knew of this due to his connections around the Island and it seemed no other better opportunity would come a knocking unlike the one now that was presented to him with Evie. He would see to her safety and in doing so he would hope to land a meeting with Marcus, he didn't understand the need to be close or to connect himself with someone but if she was as important as it seemed then he could do no other then to see to her safety.
He made to move but was momentarily distracted when he caught sight of the witch who was in the air attempting to use wind on order to drawn fourth rain it seemed. He knew what she was doing but due to her current condition he severely doubted that it would be enough.

It seemed to take what little energy she had left to wether up what she was doing and if time wasn't on her side ,well then the metal stake sticking in her side would not only drain her of power but of life's blood. Body seemed frail, witch Miyu may be but still human in all the aspects that are against her. Time it seemed to intervene and come to the witch's aid, who knows perhaps she could come of use in the future. He knew her from some where but couldn't place it as of yet. Wind rose up high and sharp as it circled around him in a frenzy of a cyclone and as it twirled around him he dissipated particle by particle and then gone like the dust from a travelers heel.

He literally walked from the shadows of illusion when he reappeared beneath the falling witch. The black of his polished boots a few inches from the ground and it seemed he had appeared in the nick of time for a arm came out like a lasso to wrap along her slender waist careful to not touch near the protruding metal object. He held her carefully and out away from his body. Dark lavenders would play along the soft lines of her face rising until they met her eyes and only then would he close the other hand into a tight fist. Words were dealt to her.

" Gracious Miyu, that was that cake that I will now lay the icing upon"

He was of course referring to how she had started the water fall and how he would now deliver the onslaught. He now knew who she was for her music was well know to his ears. Many a night he had stood above roof tops contently taking in the sweet melody of her play. Heavens music unknowingly delivered to the ears of the diablo. That tight fist came back and then like a player delivering a hard pitch he sent it skywards and as he shot it up those fingers would unclench and a flash of lightning would take to the sky summoning the thunder that would roar a moan before finally releasing the rain. Falling like tiny spears it would flare out to engulf and diminish the flames of agonizing hell that had minutes ago taken it's first eruption.

He moved toward a ambulance that had just arrived on scene with the witch still in the bend of his arm. A whistle would be given to her canine companion in order for him to follow. Once he reached a medic he let her go into their willing arms. When one asked how they were going to get her into the vehicle without traumatizing her further Requiem would pause to look at them. They had been talking about the stake which neither were to happy about pulling.

So he rectified the situation he leaned in to wrap icy fingers along the stake and with out so much of a grunt he yanked it out. Leaning in he would trail a single digit down her cheek and then move away with out so much of a look back. He found her some what intriguing and would have to later get himself better acquainted with the musician for it seemed they both shared the appreciation for a well tuned instrument. The scent of blood had him looking to his fingers where it seemed Miyu had stained them, he was tempted to raise them to his parched lips but fought the hunger and off he launched skyward heading for the woman known to be on a more intimate level to Marcus.

The air swished along him in a warm cloak that stretched out to engulf him and Evie when he came to be before her on a bent knee like some sort of Sir Lance a lot straight from the well carved courts of Author's round table. He studied her a moment, careful not to further scare her for she was in a rather frail position. He spoke slowly and clearly to her making sure to use no mind tricks. He would do no such thing to her for she was one with Marcus and he didn't wish to start the introductions on a rather bad foot by messing with politics that didn't concern his kind until need be. He knew the rules and was a fond believer of them for the most part.

" I am Master Requiem and I wish to take you to the medics in order to have you looked at and once I have secured you there then I will phone your Master Marcus and tell him of your where abouts. It isn't safe for you here Evie"

He didn't speak further because it seemed the woman was still in a bit of shock so instead he took to picking her easily off her feet and while cradling her against the broad of his chest he moved to the awaiting arms of some medics. The only reason he carried her so was because she was already upset and he didn't wish to further irritate that by allowing her to see the constant spill of blood and other worldly mayhap that was going on around them. Once she was taken he turned and shot up into the air while pulling a cell phone from his suit pocket. He then proceeded to call Marcus but got no answer so he left a brief yet through message of where to find his Evangeline.

Fire had all been extinguished long before the red engine arrived and it seemed more reporters had arrived to snap photos and do their on the scene reports. One by one victims were taken aside and it seemed there was never enough help. While fire fighters scattered along the broken asphalt Requiem turned to survey the damage and that is when he spotted a woman who smelled of fox. Lexi was bleeding but so were the lot of them and it seemed she was very capable of caring for herself that and he knew the lycanthrope's were in less danger then that of the mortals. Still he found himself descending down toward her in preparation to ask her how she ranked when he caught sight of Avery  and so he side stepped once touching the ground and easily as a guardian to a scared ward he picked her up and held her to him while he used the mere force and attraction of those lavender pits to roll her fragile mind a bit. Giving off the fake yet comforting illusion that she was alright and that there was nothing to worry about. Violets bled to black and in a silken caress he spoke of tender endearments, free hand moving to softly trail calloused fingers with in the dark of her hair.

When he met up with Lexie he would hold out Avery to her knowing all to well that Lexi could easily hold her if she so chose to do so. Right now Avery was about as docile as a kitten and needed immediate attention. Hopefully Lexi would take her but if not he would still lower to place her to a sitting position beside Lexi's feet. He finally thought to retreat from the chaos going on but heard the call of a name -- Janey-- to the air. So it seemed the blonde Lillian had another coming to her aid, he had no idea who the blonde was trying to call but like that of a fallen Lucifer he was at her side and caught a slight glimpse of her gaze before she subcommand to sleep her bodies last attempt at prolonging it's self by resting.

One look was all that was needed to see just how bad the burns were and for a moment he simply wanted to leave her but that was the part of his brain that reacted to the fact that she had been burning and well like all vampires he didn't sit well with the idea of fire. Fighting against his well bred instincts he grabbed her and though it burned his finger tips he lifted her and headed toward a ambulance.  The name -- Janey-- was shouted out in hopes to find this person in which the blonde nearly used her last straggled  breath to find. Medics surrounded Requiem long before he reached the back of the vehicle
A silent command was instilled to Lillian for her not to give up and he had worked on those binds while the team had went out throwing cool medicated blankets around her. A beeping had Requiem turning in order to pull his cell phone back out and the name Maria was flashed along the caller id. He was thoroughly soaked by now and knew it was high time to leave but when reporters started heading his way he quickly answered the phone. Needed to answer her before the crowed drew any closer.

" Si Maria, the rumor proved to be true and it seems the burn unit couldn't have come at a better time. I need to go senorita I will speak more with you later. Please get all the other preparations ready,
 gracias, adiós el pequeño"

With a shut of the lid the phone went dead just as a reporter shoved a microphone before him. It seemed the night was far from over, a side way glance would have him looking toward Claire who it seemed came back in order to retrieve his Juliet. He didn't know wether he was happy to see her or if he wished to ring her neck for her obvious defiance. He didn't have time to think long on the matter because another eager reporter joined the current one who still have her microphone to him. He cursed in his foreign language before he started the long endless line of questioning.

" I could so fuck your brains out right  now Nori you know that?" Harley said as she took to leaning back along the passenger seat next to Nori who had been looking at her watch restlessly and then right before the big boom Harley had followed suit by taking up her own pair of spy glasses not wishing to miss the colorful display of blood and lights. Hopefully and arm or two would be seen but she doubted they would be that luckily. Oh well beggars couldn't be choosers now could they. She held her breath as she waited some what impatiently, her attire something out of a mission impossible movie. Tight leather jump suit with one zipper that ran from neck clear down to navel, she hadn't even bothered to zip it up all the way allowing those small perky breasts to brush painfully out and against the zipper. Faint pink nipples covered by only the metal stitch of the aligning where the zipper would meet had she pulled it up her neck.

Hair of crimson red pulled back into twin pig tails, and pale hands currently covered in leather gloves. After all it wouldn't pay to have finger prints laying around especially with her current record. That thought alone had a wicked smile gathering at the corners of her mouth. Pink muscle moved and in doing so it easily shuffled the cancer stick that was in her mouth over to the other side to hang now at her lip. Coals heated behind dark shades when they caught  the first spark of fire littering it's self along the area. Blood, screams and so much fucking violence! it was enough to get her jollies of with out even having to get physical. While staring at the pretty lights and endless trail of destruction she lowered a hand to switch on the radio making sure to keep it low not like they'd have to worry since they were quite a distance away from the bow up. A hiss followed by a laugh was given due to the song that took to playing along the radio Oh how perfect she hummed along to the lyrics that floated up to greet both her and Nori's ears.

Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor
Let the bodies hit the floor Beaten why for
Can't take much more
One - Nothing wrong with me
Two - Nothing wrong with me
Three - Nothing wrong with me
Four - Nothing wrong with me
One - Something's got to give
Two - Something's got to give
Three - Something's got to give

Now

The binoculars were tossed back to the back seat and pulling the cigarette from her mouth she turned her head to look to Nori, then without further warning she yanked the little sadistic bitch over to her in order to force her mouth onto the woman's lips. A  deep kiss was given as well as a cope of her ass before Harley pulled back with a hard nip to the woman's lower lip in order to spark a droplet or two of blood and then threw her back to her seat, gave her the thumbs up before then saying........
" Welcome to the fuck me side ways club, now get us the fuck out of here "

She really wasn't sure what she thought at this point. She must have been unconscious, in some nightmarish dreamscape. How else could it explain the floating water lady, and the rugged lavender-eyed man who was, incidentally, also a cyclone? Was she in a Xena episode? None of this seemed real. What were they doing, and what was falling on her? ... oh, shit. Right. Rain. She blinked as water hit her eyelids, her head tilting towards the sky. She let it wake her up, let it begin to wash the warm red blood out of her hair to stain her white tanktop, already mud-covered on the back. The cogs in her brain were starting to move again -- slowly. Everything was still so surreal.

The pain in her head started to seem real enough. She blinked a few times, trying to clear her thoughts that were still scrambled as Waffle House eggs. And although her mind didn't seem to be catching up as quickly as the pain, her hearing was returning somewhat. Pity, really -- the screams would haunt her for the rest of her life. After a moment of trying to figure out how to make her legs work, Evie pushed herself to her feet, swaying there. The rush of people still running past her nearly had her bowling over again, but she held her balance. Still trying to figure it all out. How had the man ... and the floating woman ... how did they make it rain? Neat trick. And here she was, standing in a carnage-filled wasteland. Unsure of what to do. The rain was starting to chill her ... or maybe it was everything else that had her shaking like a leaf.

A strange thing happened then. A strange feeling. As if a warm, living blanket had suddenly come to rest on her shoulders. And the, she felt him. The state of her addled brain couldn't tell one energy from another, but it was strong. Old. Powerful. And ... currently taking a knee in front of her. Dilated grey eyes swept to the cyclone man from earlier, startled to see him just ... there. She didn't think as she met his eyes, and wouldn't have noticed a damn thing if he had rolled her. He didn't. She'd remember to not hate him later.

"I am Master Requiem and I wish to take you to the medics in order to have you looked at and once I have secured you there then I will phone your Master Marcus and tell him of your where abouts. It isn't safe for you here Evie."

It took a few seconds to process, but she was able to nod her head. He'd said the keyword Marcus, so she would be a-okay following him. Although she was a little shocked to hear herself blurting out, blinking against the rain that plastered her black her to her face, " ... 's not really safe for anyone here, y`know?" She blinked again, swaying on her feet. Stupid feet. Stupid -- holyshithepickedherup.

Normally this would have been panic time in EvieLand. She didn't like to be touched, didn't like strangers, didn't like vampires -- oh holy God he was a Master vampire?! A master vampire -- THE Master vampire?! -- was cuddling her to his chest like a doll? That just seemed to click ass he stared at his chest. He could have been hauling her off to Kalika's pit of hell, or something. Oh, fuck. The panic set in and she started to wriggle in his arms, grey eyes wide, but before she could truly flip a serious crazy, he handed her over to the medics. Well ... okay. They were sitting her down, asking her questions, but she was ignoring them. Watching him walk away. " ... thank you." She knew he hadn't heard. But she'd meant it. She'd have to tell him again some time ...

The doctors told her she had a serious concussion. She needed at least seven stitches. ... big fucking deal. There were people dying right then. She was happy to get pushed to the side with the rest of the survivors. The bad thing was, they couldn't give her a pain killer. She could fall asleep, and with concussion ... in short, this was going to hurt. A lot.

She just wanted to be out of the way. She wanted to be helping. But she was stuck, in the noise and the thick of the mess, still in shock.

She was doing good. One foot infront of the other, and just as she was about to stumble, she was caught up by strong arms, and cornflower hues lifted to meet the eye's of the one helping her. Lips parted as she let out a soft gasp, and then it was as if everything was alright. Nothing to fear...nothing was wrong....The soft words spoken to her caused her to calm down, and soon she was resting her head against her rescuers chest.

Slowly being set down and handed to another female, weather or not the woman took her, Avery would slowly sink to the ground, looking up at the male as he moved away from them. Shivering slightly still from shock of the pain in her wrist. When he was gone again, she looked up at Lexi, and blinked a few times as if confused. "I...I was trying to get to the medics..."

There wasn't much more that could be done at least from Nori's end, unless she wanted to ruin a perfectly executed plan.  Dead eyes moved to focus on Harley as she turned the radio on in the truck.  She had thought it would be quite a treat for the Nest of Snakes to enjoy the carnage up front, well as up front as she could get without causing herself harm.  Hands shifted to pull on the handle of the seat righting it, only to have Harley's vice like grip pull her toward her.  Time stood still for a minute, it was as if the seconds lasted years.  The press of tongue and lips against her own.  It was so different then kissing a male. Lips where so soft, soft when they should have been strong and eager.  Although Harley's did seem eager.  When Harley released her she leaned back, droplet of blood licked off her bottom lip along with the smear of red lipstick that was left behind by Harley.

Nori honestly didn't know how to react to the kiss, she had never thought of a female in that sense.  Fingers moved to the keys of her truck as it was started, pulling away from the curb and pulling a U-turn in the middle of the street.  She glanced in her rear view mirror, small grin on her lips.  It was a shame Shane missed the fireworks, she had really hoped the Queen of Darkness herself would enjoy the scene.  Already the program she had installed in the HF computer system was erasing and deleting files.  Making sure that each was done to her specifications.  Only leaving a trail that led back to Novack and the fact that they had deemed it "alright to use any force nessecary", which included human casualties.  After all there had to be a few scape goats right?

"I hope they liked the fireworks."

It had been eventful and yet, not. He had been watching the fireworks, having talked to a few, but not quite as friendly with those as he probably should be.. yet. He is working on it. Most had dispersed after awhile and so, he went for a walk. Andrea must have fallen asleep or been working too late and he pulls out his cell, sliding it open and texting as he walks, keeping an eye on where he is going, to not bump into anyone.
About halfway out of the square, having just finished texting Andrea, 'Thinking of you, wish you were here, be home soon. Love you.' when there was some kind of tremor and then BAM! And it became that odd sensation of being airborne and landing with a hard thud, body hitting pavement and he lay there, stunned. After about five minutes or so, he woke up and groans low, feeling an ache and moving to sit up, but pain shoots up along his spine and he lets out an almost howl of pain. Slowly dropping to his back again, then pain and he felt an odd damp sensation of his shirt, along his left side and he lifts his head to try and look. Seeing blood starting to soak his shirt and he curses low. Very slowly, he tries to move to his feet, but barely managing to sit up and he looks around, his temple aching and blood sluices down, slowly along the right side of his face, lifting his arm slowly to wipe it away with his forearm.
Who is hurt? What is going on? He looks around slowly to try and figure it out and it takes him longer to get to his feet, moving slow, feeling woozy, moving to look around again, people dead, others hurt and though it hurts, he inhales to try and catch scents, could other pack members be here? So, stumbling slow, he goes to find out.... pain though making him pause at times to catch his breath and let the pain ease some before continuing...

Weariness was settling in quickly. There were so many injured, so much blood, and it took a great deal of persuasion to keep the russet-pelted counterpart in agreeance with her plans. Plan. Quasi-plan. Whatever it was. Moving the mobile injured was almost a plan. After all, she couldn't really take the chance of moving a seriously injured person and making their condition worse. A dirt and blood-smeared hand lifted to shove her hair out of the way. The cool rain that had begun to fall was soothing after the heat of the flames.

The first creeping of her skin didn't register, but when it came again, those tired emerald hues turned on the male who brought a woman to her. Vampire. Nothing else could cause that feeling to track along her arms and raise the hair on her neck. But, he was helping, not standing back like an untouchable god while others tried to aid the fallen. That got him a few brownie points. A slight nod was given before her attention turned on the female he'd brought to her.

``My name is Lexi. I'm going to get you to the medics, all right? You just hang on, pet.`` Before the last of those British accent-dipped words had passed her lips, she was lifting Avery into her arms to carry her toward the waiting ambulances. Hopefully, if anyone commented on her strength, it would simply be one of those cases like the old granny who lifts a car off her grandson. It was unlikely that with the chaos anyone would remember her strength, however, so she simply deposited the woman with the nearest paramedic and gestured at her arm. Leaning down to look Avery in the eye, she gave a gentle smile and patted her shoulder. ``There now, they'll have you on the mend before you know it.``

Quick as that, Lexi was back in the thick of things. Her gaze was caught by a familiar form before she'd gone too far and her careful strides turned into an all-out run to Juran's side. The power held by an alpha washed over him as she came up to him. It wasn't as if she expected the warm breath of power to do more than offer comfort and distract from the pain. It was a small thing, but he was pack and she'd do what she could.

``Bloody hell. You look a bit worse for wear, pet.`` A faint twitch of her lips, as she offered her arm for him to lean on. She could have picked him up, probably would have if she didn't think it would embarass the hell out of him. Not to mention it would be awkward carrying a man several inches taller than herself. ``Come on. We'll have you mended in no time.``

A sideways glance of those emerald greens and she spoke softly, for his ears alone. ``Do you prefer the ambulance or shall I take you to the house?`` Either way, he was going to get the medical attention he needed. It was just a matter of whether he wanted the doctors to find out he was a lycanthrope or not. She kept the pace slow, stopping when he needed to catch his breath while she waited for his decision.

So the entire day and half into the night was spent at the shop and finally when Mukoo closed up, Mahina was more then happy to go meet Juran and the others down town to watch the fireworks. To chill and have some fun for a change for the hawaiian wolf. So with the cut down Main, and the fireworks starting she was already cursing to herself. Washington was a block away and closing in where the others are going to be. Only when the next set went off something felt strange under her feet. Like the earth was shaking......then everything slowed way down and the loudest sound, explosion temporarily blew out her hearing but also the force blew Mahina away from the building to land some 50 -70 feet away knocking her out landing on her stomach but her left shoulder and arm taking all the force and weight of the fall and her right shin, obviously was broke....bone was stick right out of the skin. Deep cuts and bruises to her face, blood running out of her ears told she just wasn't moving any time soon. Especially with everyone running for their lives and not paying attention to where they are running. Trampling over her like she was a peice of trash. Chaos settling in and please have God watching, hopefully someone will find her.

He blinks, he has nothing broken, mostly flesh wounds}haha, at least his arms not off =Þ{ Glancing to Lexi with his oddly-hued eyes and he takes a deep breath, moving a bit to clean on her, but then straightening up with her aid, his voice though still husky of course, is softer for some reason, as if not wanting to talk too loudly and not due to any pain, mind you."

"Someone I know, thank God, are you.... all right, Lexi?"  He can scent some blood on her and automatically his gaze washes over her form, that heated power of alpha surprising, as he had not felt it before from her and yet it was relaxing and his own power is weaker, but prominent, no he is not about to die, blood already slowing in it's flow.

"I..... prefer house, but.... we should..... try to help others, I will be okay, looks worse than it is, I think...."  He manages a smile to her, reaching to give her left shoulder a gentle squeeze with his hand and looking around, as he sniffs the air, no immediate pain to wrack his body. A familiar scent catching his nose, perhaps it was the blood flow, but he gestures towards closest where Mahina lays. He is glad for Lexi's support, her help, just hoping she does not take some insult to his almost pushing aside aide to him and moving for more of others...

"There, someone is..... Mahina, I think." He says softly to her and blinks, blood still wet on his flesh, he hates that sensation.

``I'll be fine. Not all of this blood is mine.`` A vague motion toward her head. ``Got scratched, but the bleeding has all but stopped.`` Yes, she gave him nothing but the truth. She was tired and a bit shaken up, but she'd be perfectly fine once she could get back to the house.

A faint grin was conjured up for him and she nodded. How could she fault him for wanting to help others, even when he was obviously in pain himself? So, she kept them moving, picking her way over the debris until he pointed out... Mahina. Something in the region of Lexi's heart contracted and she hurried them toward the female lying so still.

First things first, she got Juran settled next to something he could lean on before she hunkered down by Mahina. Lip was tugged between her teeth as she looked over the injuries she could see without moving her. ``Mahina? Mahina, can you hear me?``

A glance was sent toward Juran. ``It looks pretty bad. Her leg is broken, for certain. I think we need to get her to the house as soon as possible.``

Of course, if that leg wasn't set it was going to start healing like that. Oh, she really didn't want to be doing this. A cringe as she gently rolled Mahina over onto her back and sat next to the injured leg. ``Juran.. you wouldn't happen to know how to set a broke bone, would you?``

There in that darkness of her mind she was screaming out to Lexi. The hawaiian knew of her, she was special to her and if anyone could help, it would be her. The pain that in her mind she felt was the kind she couldn't compare to anything for it was unbearable. Thankfully she was still conscious. The left shoulder was hanging at a weird angle, something there was not right. Light taps of her right three fingers moved, reflexes. But the leg was bad....worse then the shoulder....there was some internal damages but that could heal. When Lexi rolled her over, shoulder made a squishy noise and still she was unmoving. Fresh blood rolled out of each ear, her face had deep gashes and bruising was already deeply showing depths of blues, deep red and purple shading, flatten stomach moved slowly. So she still was breathing. She needed to shift very soon before the process went to the next stage and her shoulder and leg would heal as is. That would be not fun.

Seeing as they were going to make it towards Mahina, he kept with Lexi, nodding to her. It is not easy when others are injured.

"I am glad it is not yours, but I can look at that head wound later, do not want any type of infection."  He would not pretend in the least to be any medical doctor, but he has been trained and when she asked, he could not help but answer.

"Actually, I do. Military training brought paramedic training. It is not pretty of course."  He says to Lexi, with a grim expression and he slowly moves over, the pain subsiding as he wills it away, power of the mind over, that of physical, mind over matter is true to some degree.

"Mahina, concentrate on Lexi, please."  He says, but she seems to be passed out and not hearing him, so he turns his attention to Lexi and he is not the most powerful, but he gives over what of his strength, a warm wash of it, light as it is towards Lexi and Mahina, he has though no soothing for anger, but maybe it will help for just relaxation.

"Lexi, please just keep her focused upon you and try to not look if you cannot."

Determination and he lowers slowly now by Mahina's side, down at her leg and he inspects it, her shoulder looking worse for wear, but her leg did need to be set and her arm after immobilized. He looks around and keen eyesight catches what he may be able to use. Needing splints, so he slowly stands again and moves over to some debris, finding two pieces of semi-clean quality, the best he could find as he searches for some more, leaving Lexi with Mahina to keep her calm. String, rope... something. Well, he will have to use the next best thing. Moving back over with thunks, he drops the wood beside them both and lowers down to sit now by Mahina's leg.

"I have nothing to clean the wounds, sorry. But, I need to set them as Lexi said."  He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a hankerchief he keeps on hand, rolling it up and he reaches forward, wincing as he does and looks at Mahina.  "Bite on this."  Seeing as she is still unconscious, he sighs and sits down again, returning hankerchief to his pocket, then tears away her pants leg to look closer at her leg, keeping those pieces of wood near and he assesses her wound, then reaches down, taking hem of his shirt and lifts it off, then goes about tearing long strips off it, tearing it in half with the shirt held as if to be folded, then ripping one end to have a long piece of fabric.

"This is going to hurt."  He forewarns, forgetting a moment that Mahina an't hear and he looks to Lexi with a sheepish smile, he sets his hands to her leg, one near the wound, the other a bit below and grasping, he then jerks his hands apart and straightens the leg out, nodding to Lexi.

"Please tie these strips around in four areas to steady her leg, while I hold the wood in place."  And so, they both set to work, trying up Mahina's leg in a splint.  "How are you feeling, Mahina?"  He asks after.

Packmate or not, Mahina was going to owe a great deal to Juran and Lexi after all of this. This was pack and yes you are there for one another and help each out but the order should be reversed for Mahina is Juran's sponsor and she is the stronger one (in comparsion to Juran and her, not Lexi) obviously Lexi outranked Mahina but she was so close to the blast. Ringing was intense to her ears that if she were conscious, doubtful she would understand just what they were talking about. But it was good that Mahina was given a heads up on what to expect ....... just due to her ears still bleeding and the ringing she couldn't hear him.

Lexi was doing an excellent job keeping her calm, she, even though not conscious still could feel the power of the Alpha packmate surrounding her, soothing her very core. Only hoping she was bracing herself for whatever was going to happen when Juran sets the leg. Pain, jolted straight up her body to force her eyes to open and her upper form jerked. Mouth opened to scream, only what came out Mahina couldn't hear and tears spilled from the corners of her eyes, the intensity of the pain washed over her from that jerk that she shook....holy hell what was wrong with her?..... where was she? Why can't she move her left arm? the pain....fuck! holy hell it hurt!!!!

She looked to Juran and she couldn't hear him out make out his words. So at a tone that was a bit too loud she spewed out "I can't hear! Oh Gods, I can't hear!" she shook the pain was taking over her focus on something other then it, she never felt so much all over and felt sleepy from the level of pain that she closed her eyes. Make it go away.

Juran's offer to look at her head wound recieved a faint smile, though it was a distracted gesture. She'd let him look at it after they got to her car. She was determined to get them both back to the house as soon as she could.

Lexi, luckily, was not squeamish. She just hated to see Mahina like this. While Juran went about collecting things to make a splint, she rubbed Mahina's good arm, talking to her even though she couldn't hear her. When Juran returned, Lexi linked her fingers with Mahina's, watching the military-trained wolf carefully. You never know when something like this might be needed again.

As Mahina shook, Lexi gave a squeeze to her hand and leaned over so that she could look at her face, wiping the tears away from the she-wolf's eyes while she was at it. Lips moved slowly, mouthing to her that everything was going to be all right.

A nod to Juran at the request of assistance. Mahina's hand was given one more squeeze before she moved down to tie the strips of cloth around the sticks and leg. Teeth bit into her bottom lip as she worked, making sure everything was snug even though it probably made the pain escalate when she tugged.

``As soon as we've done what we can here, I'm getting you both back to the house. There are plenty of people about to help the other injured.`` The vixen's mothering instinct had kicked in again and she was pissed. At that moment, she would have gladly rended the person responsible for this limb from limb.

A steadying breath was taken to calm herself, to remove the angry hum from her energy so that it was once more a soothing heat for the two wolves. A hand motioned toward Mahina's arm once she'd finished with the splinting. ``Have any of your shirt left to take care of that? I can take a strip from mine if we absolutely need it.``

Lexi didn't care about this shirt anyway and though it would shorten the shirt to the edge of being indecent exposure, she'd cut it into ribbons if it was needed. But Juran had the expertise here, not her, a fact that was going to change in the very near future.

As Lexi helps, he watches Mahina as she suddenly was almost screaming out, wincing a bit as of course it was louder than it should be and with enhanced hearing.... yeah. He would tell Lexi, just a bit tighter to tie and once Mahina's leg is done, he blinks at Lexi's words and looks to Mahina's arm, the blood had been strong, just a good thing he has control over it, otherwise... well, the person responsible would not be the one rendered. It had not hit him yet, who could have done this, he had been too preoccupied with everything else, but when it does.... he may just brainstorm with Lexi or someone over this catastrophe, the anger would not be easily contained.

He mouths to Mahina, she will be fine and is glad to have Lexi as his partner in this, she is calm and he feels this calming effect from her at times, a warmth that seems to seep through his very core, managing a slight smile to her. Then speaking reassurances to Mahina, slow enough that she can understand as she hopefully reads his and Lexi's lips.

"I have some left, but... if you would not mind, just one strip from yours would be very helpful."  As she sets to getting that, he finishes tearing his own shirt, tearing it so that it is one long strip, so it can be doubled as a sling. He then leans to look Mahina's shoulder over and speaks to her.

"Mahina, this is going to hurt."  That hankerchief is taken out again, but since she is awake, he sets it between her lips, then lets go when she clamps her teeth down upon it. When she is ready, he reaches his hands, slick with blood and he wipes them off on his pants, then he goes to setting her shoulder back into it's joint and reaches for the strip of cloth that Lexi hands him, a nod of thanks and he sets to working it around her arm, then putting it in that makeshift sling.

"That will hold for now, but we need to definately get her to the house."  Plus, he wants to check Lexi's head, his own wounds not deep enough to need any sort of stitching, but he forgot about them during his working to help someone, pack came first, but even if Mahina were not pack, he would want to help, it was just in his nature.... protect and help.
He with Lexi's help, load Mahina into the car and they lay her out, he immobilizes her leg best he can, so that she does not jar it during the drive, pulling into the car, of which the back seat was set down for more room, putting  large pieces of plaster he has found from a building, setting them on either side of Mahina's leg, stability is key with breaks and then he looks to Lexi.

"Shall I drive, or you?" He knows the other people will be helped, one cannot save everyone.

Nothing could compare to this experience. Not even her attack combined with her death/brought back experience of Lilith's attack combined. The pain was worse then she ever experienced and she wanted freedom from it, trying so hard to hang on what control she had to block out the pain but she couldn't. Eyes opened, it was hard to understand what the two of them were saying even though they mouthed their words slow enough to be understood just her mind was on too many things to concentrate.

She watched when Juran cleaned off a stick and took his hankercheif to push between her lips and her eyes went from the board to him.....back and forth til white went to her line of vision and she screamed in the cloth to a vision of darkness. Passing out to the level of jolting pain once again having to experience. Which in a way was good for it allowed Juran to work freely without her prying his hands away, for she would do that if she was still conscious at this time but she was out from the level experienced.

Still not jerking nor shaking she was still and the level of body heat she normally has, feverishly has dropped. Indicating injuries were far more then just flesh wounds. A shift would take care of her blown out ear drums, sealing off the cuts, anything else broken and her leg plus shoulder will all be healed or back to normal and then the recovery will begin.

Lexi easily tore a strip from her shirt, though it wasn't perfectly straight. The back was now shorter than the front, but again, that didn't matter. She watched and helped as Juran immobilized that arm and then they were carrying Mahina to her car. This was one of those times she was glad she'd had custom seats put in the back of the 'Vette.

A faint smile was directed to Juran as that question passed his lips. A hand going up to brush soaked locks of hair from her face. ``I'll drive. You just hop in and keep an eye on Mahina.``

She slid into the driver's seat, removing that miniature backpack purse that she'd all but forgotten in the chaos. Keys were found and shoved in the ignition. The engine roared to life and she quickly put the car in gear, maneuvering out of the parking space and heading to the house at a speed higher than the limit. It wasn't like the cops were going to be too terribly concerned with someone speeding when there was an explosion to worry about.

Tires squealed as she turned sharply into the driveway, muttering an apology. Speed decreased, finally coming to a stop in her usual spot before the engine was killed. A twitch of her lips was the best she could give Juran as she slid out and shoved her seat forward in order to help get Mahina out of the backseat.

Once she and Juran had gotten Mahina out of the car, it was time to get her into the house. It was a pretty lucky thing that she had Juran to help her with this, and later she planned to ask him to teach her some of that first-aid stuff he'd learned in the military. Being an alpha meant nothing if she couldn't take care of those who might need her.

[OOC: Moving my posting to the pack house section.]

-The fireworks. Lili wanted to see them. She had left Raine to handle some business. The call had come after dropping Raine off to get her car, and she took Lili to see the fireworks. The getup was purely Jane. White silk shirt with rhinestone buttons. The buttons were of red and blue. Tassels lined all across her back in an arch, then down the lining of her sleeves. The pants were pleather in white. Boots white rattle snake. One arm around the pint sized Bradshaw. The smell of that Turkey leg had Lili running off to get some.

"Bring me back ah beer! Hurry up!"

Jane called out. It was a few minutes to go before the night sky would be lit up with the fireworks that marked the independence of this awesome nation. Jane planted her spot saving the perfect place at the railing for Lili.As soon as the first firework hit the sky, the earth started to Shake. Jane grabbed hold of the railing, then the ground broke, and the explosions started not in the sky but from the earth itself. Pele seemed to be pissed the fuck off.

"LILI!"

The name was screamed. The noise of children crying, people screaming and the stomping of boots, flip flops and bodies hitting the ground. Shit, shit, shit! Jane was thinking as she waived and bobbed through the crowd looking for her blond little sister. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!

"LILI!!"

Another call and then Jane heard it. Faint, a whisper on the wind her name. People were stampeding out and around the broken ground. There was a sense of calm suddenly. The rain touched her silk shirt and those golden eyes finally found her sister. A man was leaning over her, and telling the medics to bring a burn blanket? Burns? No, no! Fuck!

"Lili! Babah!"

White pleather hit the ground next to the blond and the man who had been with her till now. Jane whispered a thank you to him for being at her sisters side. By the feel of him, he was a vampire. No time to ponder on that right now.

"Hey babah, its me, it Janey. Hold on babah! Hold on Ah's got'cha."

The Oklahoma accent as smooth as fine aged whisky and as harsh as the southern heat would reach Lili's ears, letting her know that Jane was there. One hand pushed back those blond bangs.

"Ya gonna be okay. Ya gonna be okay."

Men started to move her, lifting her onto a gurney. Jane followed them. More medics, it was like hundreds of men and women that were there rushing to take two to three people along with them. Burn victims, and people that had been cut were being treated on site. Jane's phone was going off. The ring tone told her it was the office. She wouldn't answer. Not now. The man was pushing her back, saying she couldn't go. Jane screamed telling them she was family. He finally allowed her to enter the van.

The ride to the hospital was filled with worry from Jane. The burn unit, the new wing that had been opened up by the Master of the Islands was their destination. Jane was dialing Raine's number.

"Raine, babah... Ah needs ya. Please come. Mah sister, burn unit."

Words were spaced and filled with what sounded like tears.-

That 'business,' that Mary Jane had left her to handle had included some serious business matters, but mostly .. it had been her setting off to purchase several sunflowers to give to MJ. It was the sappiest thing in the world, but they reminded Raine of her, and .. well. Raine was enamored. She wasn't straight lesbian or anything, but MJ had been really the only one of anyone (male or female) to catch her eye.

Her phone was on vibrate, which was why she almost missed Mary Jane's phone call. She'd no sooner flipped the phone open when the other tiger started talking, tearfully. The sunflowers she'd picked out were long forgotten as she heard the other woman.

"I'm on my way."

That was all the Khatun needed to say. She didn't know MJ's sister, but that wouldn't stop her from going to comfort and help the woman she cared about, in whatever way she could.

She drove like a bat out of hell to get to the hospital. It couldn't have taken her more than a few minutes, the way she drove the tiny sports car that was delightfully hers. Darting into the emergency room, she barked out the question to the triage nurse, "Where's the burn unit?" Nodding as the nurse pointed out the direction, Raine was off. She didn't really think about whether or not Jane had already arrived. No, she looked around upon reaching the unit, searching for any sign of Jane.

The fourth of July and Lorissa was stumbling drunk. While everyone was out celebrating and having the time of their lives, the little goth girl had been drowning her thoughts in alcohol and smoke. Not that she wasn't a proud American, it was just, bad things tended to happen around or to her on the fourth, ever since she was a little girl. Everyone had their bad holidays, for most people it was Christmas, for the tiny pixie it was Independance Day.

In recognition of the day she was wearing a red, white and blue t-shirt,  there was even a picture of George Bush on the front, however the bold back letters underneath the caricature claimed the president was a "TERRORIST". Baggy blue jeans and boots completed the ensemble as well as the forever present black gloves. Short midnight hair was up in spikes as usual, and as she walked through the crowded streets she held a beer bottle in one hand and lit cigarette in the other. The people didn't bother her as much today, whether that was from the imbibed liquor or just simply not caring, who knew.

The petite girl barely noticed when the fireworks started, she wasn't much in the mood for watching flashing lights and hearing loud bangs, and as most of the crowd surged forward to get a closer glimpse of the pretty colors lighting up the sky, Lori pushed through the people to get away from it all, none to gently either. She'd manged to stumble over a couple of people's toes, dug her elbows in a few people's ribs and even shoved someone over a foot taller then her out of her way when the chaos started.

The crowd, which only moments before had been collectively gasping over the display, suddenly started screaming in shock and horror as the day took a turn for the worse. Explosions errupted from every direction, terrified people were running, and Lorissa herself had been sideswiped by one of the blasts. As chunks of metal, concrete, and fire rained down over the people gathered, the tiny goth girl was knocked to the ground, smacking her head against the street curb.

More than a little dazed, it took her a few minutes to realize what was going on, and even longer to sit up, and start checking to make sure she was ok. Nothing seemed broken, thankfully, and besides from a wicked headache, she seemed alright until she felt the trickle of blood slide down her cheek. Her hand lifted to her face until she felt the pain a couple of inches from her right eye, wincing she pulled her fingers away, the glove sticky. She took a deep breath and slowly got to her feet, her beer bottle had been broken with the fall and there was no use in looking for the cigarette. Lori started walking blindly away from the disaster, she needed to get to a mirror to find out just how deep this cut was, and there was no way she was sticking around for more fun. Maybe next year she would give up and just boycott the day altogether.
