Finishing what you start.

Untill Adam finished the workshop in the back yard for her to work in, Kylie was content to use a folding table covered in news papers, and an extention cord to plug her iron into. THe main peice she'd been working on for weeks now was finally ready to be finished. The large board that held it up off the table actually hung over the sides. But not enough to make it fall over or anything. This was something that had taken her longer then she'd expected to. It was hard to make a cat with spots and have it look right! though eventually the problem had been solved when Ethan found a yellow and black spotted glass for her. It worked perfectly.

Leaning over the peice, she quickly and very precisly brushed the flux over each seam. Working quickly so that it wouldn't dry before she was ready to solider. Hair was pulled back in a pony tail to keep it out of her face, and goggles rested over her eye's to protect them from popping metal should it happen. Iron was already on and heating at the side of the table, and soon she was ready to start.

Solider roll was taken from the table, and a good starting section unravled. And soon the end was placed to the iron, smoothing the stuff to each seam carefully. The whole process took about an hour. First doing one side, then untapeing the peice from the board, and carefully flipping it over to do the back. Makeing sure all her seams were smooth and flawless as she could make them. Then came the lead. The bendable peices that would fit over the outside of the peice and hold it all together. Keeping it from falling appart. Carefully wrapping it around the oval peice, solidering it in place at various places, and finally attaching the hooks to the back, and the chain to the hooks.

Carefully, once it was cool, she wet a cloth with the hose, and started to wipe it down. getting the exces flux and solider from the glass. Then spraying it down with the hose itself, and wipeing it off with the rag. Holding it up with both hands, she nodded. Smile on her lips. Perfect....

The peice was an oval, about 4 feet by 3 and a half feet. Showing a grouping of tiger, lion, leopard, jaguar lounging together in a jungle scene...Takeing it carefully inside, being oh so gentle, she managed to get it into the living room without being seen. Grinning, she set it up so it leaned against the glass of the front window. She'd have to wait untill Adam could put up a hook for it to hang from, but for now, this worked. The sunlight streaming through the window and through the peice itself, bringing it to life. A smile on her face as she made sure it wouldn't fall over, and then darted back outside to clean up her mess. Wondering who would find it first.....and hopeing everyone liked it.
