It had to be some sort of karmic reward for her diligent studying. First Patsy planning to take her on a trip and now Valcrist's return. The family was coming back together again. The only person they were yet missing was Jessice, but Val could understand why she'd remained in Salem to run the clinic. And yet, it would be nice to see the woman again if Patsy could talk her into meeting them in L.A. All of this would be moot if she failed to get the time off from work, so, as promised, she turned the black VW Beetle toward the university. Having worked for Beaver for months now, she was almost sure she'd find him in his office. Unless the man had decided to become engrossed in something and then he could be almost anywhere.
Chocolate browns scanned the parking lot as she pulled into a parking space and turned the key to kill the rumbling engine. Right arm reached into the back seat to pluck her purse from the floor board before exiting the vehicle. A bump of her hip had the door closed, a quick push of the button on her keychain made the reassuring beep that said the doors were all locked. Keys were soon shoved into the depths of her purse, the strap of said accessory slung over her shoulder.
Sandaled feet carried her into the cooler air of the university's halls, the skirt of her blue, floral-patterned sundress swishing about her legs with every step. She headed unerringly toward Beaver's office, stopping only once for a few pleasantries with another professor. A pause as she closed in on her destination, checking to be sure that she looked nearly perfect. She didn't fancy having Beaver's attention diverted by some bit of dirt or other that caught his eye.
Upon reaching the office door, knuckles rapped gently against it before she poked her head inside. "Professor? Do you have a minute? I need to ask you about something."
