-Summer was coming. Not that in Paradise summer was entirely different from the rest of the year, but at least it meant the end of school for a few months. Patsy had noticed Valerie working herself to death with her studies and she didn't like it. The girl was burning the candle at both ends and needed some rest. While out shopping for the day she had stopped in at Thirteen Moons to visit with Tommy and the Radha, shooting the shit and catching up on the gossip from both sides. Taking advantage of what the store had to offer she picked up two relaxation candles that supposedly had been blessed though Patsy wasn't so sure that wasn't just a bunch of hooey, and a bundle of sage which Blaise said was very cleansing. It would be a nice gift for the little leopard.-
-Being Patsy though a gift of candles and herbs just would not do. Carrying the bag she was driven straight down tourist lane to the nearest designer store to pick out the cutest Judith Leiber clutch purse. It was shaped like a butterfly and was encrusted with gems all over. It would look precious on Valerie. The salesgirl wrapped up the candles and sage in delicate tissue to put it inside the purse, and then the whole thing was wrapped perfectly in cream and gold striped paper. Nothing ostentatious. Pure class. It was just what Patsy had wanted.-
-Since Valcrist had left she and Eric had heardly seen eachother. Their little bubble had been burst and she missed them terribly. It was hard for a woman like her to admit to such loneliness, but it was true. Both woman and beast longed for company, for intimacy, and they both also happened to miss the kinky mind blowing sex. That was a given. In the meantime though she could relax in the company of the Horde and just hope that soon that hurt in her heart would lessen.-
-Arriving back at the Hordes home she went towards Valeries room where she expected to see the girl in the middle of studying. Opening the door she stepped in with a smile on those already sensually curved lips. Lime green cat eyes took in the site of Valerie and she walked towards the bed. The movement of that Amazonian body a thing to behold. Equal parts stripper strut and killers stalk. Draping herself across the bed she laid there like someone waiting to have their picture taken. The box was set on the comforter and she patted the bed for Valerie to join her.-
"Alright my Valkyrie. You need a study break. I brought you a little something."
-Eyes were alight and eager to see if she would like the little token.-
Val was sitting at her little desk, cheek pressed against the knuckles of her left hand as she tapped her pencil on the paper before her. She was slowly getting more comfortable with the other feline scents that hung about the Horde's home. She had yet to actually speak to any of them beyond a shy 'hello', but that would change when she was done trying to stuff her head full of what she needed to know in order to pass this last exam.
Patsy's scent preceded her, turning Val to face the door to watch the leopard queen move across the floor to her bed. Hands lifted to rub briefly at those chocolate brown orbs. The sudden switch from staring at words on a page to looking at a moving object causing a temporary moment of blurry vision.
"Yes, Mommy."
Lips turned up in a happy smile as she moved over to the bed, flopping on the comforter and leaning over to give Patsy a cheek rub. She was more than happy to take a break from studying. She studied every free chance she got, even when she was in class or helping Beaver.
Gaze settled on the 'little something' that Patsy had brought her and she eagerly opened it. Eyes widened and she couldn't help the childlike squeal that passed her lips.
"It's beautiful! Thank you so much!"
The purse was set down and arms were flung about the other woman, giving her a great big hug. She soon sat back, only then looking inside it to find the sage and candles. These she set on the bedside table, though they weren't to stay there due to the nighttime rampage of the two sleeping bundles of fur in their cat bed near the closet.
"I love it, all of it. Now I need to go shopping and find something nice to wear just so I can use my new purse."
Soft little laugh. Val owned two dresses in total and hardly ever wore them. The rest of her clothing consisted mostly of jeans and t-shirts. Still, the gifts from Patsy were much appreciated and she soon gave the Nimir-ra another hug.
-Reaching out she brushed the hair back from Valeries face and tucked it behind one ear. Tempted to lick her fingers like a mamma cat and wipe the smudge of ink from her cheek, but luckily she resisted. As she laid perfectly poised across the bed she let the Jimmy Choo heels she was wearing fall to the floor with tiny thuds. Impossibly long legs were drawn in, tucking her feet back so that the line of her black dress was perfect.-
"When you finish your finals why don't we go on a little jaunt to L.A. We can do some shopping, a little sight seeing, maybe I can even get tickets to a premiere."
-Head tipped to the side and she watched Valerie with calm green kitty cat eyes.-
"Are you happy here Valy?"
-The transition had been hard on everyone even with so many familiar people around. Valcrist was gone though, and Jessica. It was difficult. The Rodere had the advantage of still having their family intact, but it was not the same for the pard. Reaching out she tugged at Valeries waist, drawing her in closer and sort of rolling her so the girls back was pressed to her front, spooning her as the ceiling fan sent a breeze down on them. The leopard rumbled with a chuffing sound at the close warmth of its own kind.-
When Patsy moved, the eyes were inevitably drawn to her. To Val, she always looked absolutely perfect. Even when she'd just woken up, she was one of the most beautiful women Val had ever met. "L.A.? Really?" Hands clapped together in front of her. "I'd love to! I've never been to L.A. before."
She thought over Patsy's question even as she was pulled against the other woman, being enfolded in the comforting feeling that came from the Nimir-ra. Val tugged Patsy's arm around her so that she could brush her cheek against the back of her hand. "I miss Valcrist and Jessica, but I've got you and Milo said I could visit the rodere anytime I wanted. I get to work for Beaver with all his strangeness and I'm almost done with school." She paused to rub her cheek against the back of Patsy's hand again. "Everything here is so new, but I'm learning and growing to like it. When we came here to be with the horde.. sometimes I get scared with so many new people around me."
A very small shrug of her shoulders. Patsy had asked her a question and she was giving as honest an answer as she could. "I haven't really had time to try and make myself really happy. I've been studying so much lately."
Another shrug. She was happier when she had familiar people around her to offset the fear of meeting new people. It was something that she absolutely despised about herself. Of course, if she made more friends, she wouldn't have so much to be scared about.
