Alex liked to explore. And the parks and jungle areas of Hawaii were perfect for exploring. Yes they had their dangers, but she figured she could handle them. Plus! who would attack a cute little blond, with a glomping white puppy at her side? As Helix ran and yipped and scrambled through the vegitation, Alex smiled, even though her mind was else where.

It wasn't long, just about 20 feet off the path, that she heard Helix barking ahead of her, and whineing, and Alex caught a scent that was all to familar, and laced with blood and the beginings of decay. She gagged, and as much as she didn't want to, moved forward, eye's serching the ground....and then up.

"no....no god damn it not again....." Alex sank to her knees, tears rolling down her cheeks as she sat there, stareing up at what the pup had found...Coyote....half caught under a rock fall...legs pinned, as well as one arm. Blood staining the rocks. Eye's stareing blankly at the sky....

How long had he been there like that? The whole time?? Shakeing her head, she could almost feel something inside of her snap. And her head fell back in a mournful howl, echoing through the jungle. Slowly she got to her feet, the pup staying close. Knowing something was wrong, but not what. Nuzzling her leg as she climbed up to the rock he rested on, and gently closed his eyes....leaning down to nuzzle his cold cheek, before she pulled her phone from her pocket, and Ash's number was dialed...She needed help...now...

"Ash...I....I need help...I.....I found Coyote..Please....come help..." her voice was breaking and cracking with each word, as she told him where she was, and how to find her. "hurry...please...."

Phone was closed, and she just sat. Holding the hand that wasn't caught, and crying quietly

It had been a relatively quiet day all told, giving him a chance to catch up on some non work related things that had been driving him crazy while he'd been busy. Bills sent off, check book balanced, an arm and a leg sent to Bree Hayes, all the usual things. By the time the sun was starting to set though the wash of domesticity had faded and he was itching for a little activity. Going up to Damons room he knocked on the Geri's door to see if he wanted to go jogging. Both of them started on a trail that led through what Evie had dubbed 'the fungle' and took a circuitous route through the pack lands. It was a good way to scout the territory, check the fencing, and make sure nothing strange had been through their lands. Together they were talking low about what had been going on lately.

"I think Silent and Dakota are in California. Hopefully doing something to make this whole thing better, but for all I know they could be drinking champers and having facials all day."

The last was more jest than anything, even if it was hidden in the depths of that dry British humor. Neither of the girls seemed the type for that sort of thing, but in truth he had no idea what they were doing in California. They hadn't said goodbye let alone told him what their errand was. He was trying very hard not to think about it because if he thought about it too much then he wasn't sure what he might do.

"Oh, and that guy I told you about. Well, apparently he's getting his kicks now running all over town telling people about the big bad Ulfric who won't let him near the pack. It's a bit sad really when a man can't keep his business to himself, but I suppose some people just need the attention."

Ash shrugged even as he was jogging and then he felt a vibration against the waistband of his black sweat shorts. Slowling down until he came to a stop he unclipped the cell phone from that elastic band. It was in a small clip-on carrying case that looked dorky as hell, but served a good purpose in just such an occasion. He debated not answering but when he saw that it was Alex he flipped the phone open.

"Alex?...."

The name barely left his mouth when she started in, and he could hear all the tears trapped behind that cracking voice. Coyote? He was confused for that moment he took to connect things. Wouldn't she be glad to see Coyote? And then like a lightbulb flaring on he realized what this meant.
Waiting for her to tell them where she was he was already starting to jog and then run back towards the house with Damon right behind him all the way.

"Just stay where you are honey. I'll be right there."

It was a whirlwind between going inside, getting his keys and him and Damon piling into the Hummer, but soon enough they were on the road and roaring into town. Phone was flipped open once again and he tried to think of who to call. The two women he would normally call for something like this were in California. A name crossed his mind, Lou because she worked close to the park. He wasn't sure that this was how he wanted Alex and Lou to meet, over the possible dead body of a pack member. Still there was no other choice. Keying in the digits for her number he waited for it to ring.

"Lou. This is Ash. I need you to get to (insert address here) as soon as you can. We need some help."

Ash didn't want Alex by herself, and Lou could offer closeness and comfort while he and Damon took care of whatever needed to be done. Throwing the car into park he and his Geri were out their respective doors and moving like one unit towards where the scent of Alex and little Helix was coming from. More drawing though was the scent of blood and flesh roasting in the sunlight. He was surprised no animals were flocking to try to get theirs.

"Alex," he said her name as soon as he saw her blonde head in the days fading light.

"SWEET home Alabama! Where the skies are so bluuuuuuue! SWEET home Alabama! Lord I'm comin' home to you. Here I come...Alabama." -And of course she couldn't resist the, "Doo doo doo doo dad ooda doo daa daa doo daddoda."

-Lou was out in the drag field behind Monster Motors with the hood up on the vintage Ferrari, a light dangled from a hook on the hood but she hadn't turned it off yet. The sun was just startin to set though so she'd sure need it soon. Greased stained hands wiped at the seat of her shorts. Tiny Daisy Dukes that would'a made daisy herself blush. They looked like they'd been made for a twelve year old. Which suited her just fine since she didn't have any of the curves or bumps it took to need to shop at the grown up section of the Wal-Mart. From her back pocket she pulled a bright pink bandanna and used it to wipe sweat from her forehead. Then tied it around her head in a do-rag. Keeping her blonde hair back and sweat out of her eyes.-

-Somewhere in this process her phone started to ring out a Willie Nelson tune and she reached down into the grass where she had set the phone beside her beer. Picking it up she flipped it open but never even had a chance to say hello before Ash started barking orders. Luckily she knew the place he was talkin bout or she never woulda had time to get a pad and pecil and write down directions. He was gone before she'd really even processed the phone call. Lou was left feelin just a bit confused as she walked back towards the garage.-

"Caleb, honey kin you take me to the park in yer truck?"

-Until she had the car up and runnin she was still stuck bummin rides, walkin, or takin the bus. Which sucked ass. At least with the crush Caleb had on her he was usually good for a ride, and if the bulge she'd noticed in his pants was any indicator then she would say he'd be good for all kindsa ridin. Lou and Caleb piled into his old 40s pickup truck and she told him where she needed to go. When they got there she saw Ash's black Hummer in the parking lot and she was climbing out before the pick up was even stopped all the way.-

"Caleb honey kin you jest wait here fer me? I'll just be an eensy weensy little old minute."

-Half of that had been shouted back over her shoulder as she kicked up dust in those purple cowboy boots following the Ulfrics footprints. First she saw Damon, then Ash hugging a blonde she didn't think she'd met yet. Stepping around them to see what the commotion was about she caught the sdtench of blood and guts and heated flesh. Tongue licked her lips even as she made out that it was Coyote all 'squishifyed'.-

"Aww holy hell! What the fuck happened here? Need me to call the clinic boss or are we gonna tarp this mess and stick it in the back of yer Hummer?"

-She looked between Ash and Damon waiting for orders. Lou might be tiny but she wasn't scared of gettin dirty. A little guts between friends was no big deal. She assumed naturally that they would be eating him later, but she didn't say anything about that out loud. The girl cryin gave her a pretty good hint that now wasn't the time.-

"Jest tell me what'ta'do boss and I'm here fer ya."

It seemed like she was sitting there for an eternity. Staring at Coyote's body, being nuzzled by the puppy in her lap. And when she heard Ash's voice, and caught the scent of pack comming from behind her, she turned, and let herself be hugged. The tears had stopped by now. And she was...numb. She'd known something bad had happend to Coyote...just not what...or where...And it was a fucked up way to find out. To just happen to stumble on him while takeing the dog for an exploration jaunt.

She turned and glanced over Ash's shoulder to the blond comming up and asking what needed to be done. Alex had no idea what was to be done with a pack member. When Xavier was killed, she'd refused to go near the pack. not wanting their comfort. The only one that had been able to calm her down had been Titus.

Her voice came soft, that rolling texas drawl diminished slightly. "just......take him down....please...we..we should take him home..." Looking up at Ash, she let go so he and Damon could do what needed doing. Moving slowly to stand near Lou, hands gripping Helix's leash, as the puppy sat so quietly at her feet. He knew something was wrong, even if he wasn't exactly sure what.

She had ben packed, thinking this would give her and Silent a chance to work out some stuff. But plans always change, and leaving the pack just after this whole mess was finally getting cleared up and then this Case blew up. Every thing changed at that moment. Would be no taking a week off work, or leaving the tropics for sunny cali. God every where was sun shine and surf!

A phone call was maid to the swamp wolf.

"Silent. Plans got to change. I can't get away right now. To much going on, with the pack, with work and my own head. When you get back from Cali, you. me and Evie need to spend some time together. Also, give the California Pack Vargamor my phone number, email and such. Maybe I can spend some time Video conference with her on line to get some of my questions answered.... And Silent. I will help you in any way I can. Get over some of this mess. Your still my sister."

They spoke for a little bit. On the way to the air port to drop Silent off. From there. Kota was heading back to the pack house to get changed for work, she had the evening shift and wanted to have a bit of dinner before she left. A good shower, always woke her up for the second wind to kick in. Her cell phone going nuts sitting on the foot of the bed she shared with Memphis... He got to it before she did, though he was to busy trying to grab her towel and rip it off to look at who was calling.

What Lou heard on the other end of the line was a lot of growling. laughing, and a few muffled moans before she managed to get the dang thing away from the big lug of hers! Pushing of her laughter. At lest she knew it was not work! Work had its own ring tone... this... this was Lou's.

"Hey doll what's up?"

The message came though and left Kota a little stunned. Something was wrong but she was not sure just what. She tossed the towel at Memphis. Darting to the closet to get her cloths on. Just a pair of black jeans and a black tank top.

"Something's wrong Love. Ash called Lou he needs help. We got to go."

Did not take her or the winter eyed stud to get together. She pulled her hair up in a ponytail out of her face. Still wet from her shower. Grabbed her gear and headed off. Drive was made on the phone to try and reach Ash...

"Please Pick up... Pick up pick up pick up..... Ash? Lou called me. Said you needed help. Memphis and I are on our way. What happened?"

When his phone ringed he almost didn't answer it. After all there was a body on the ground and a finite amount of time before some sort of law enforcement would get involved. Little old lady passing by, calls the cops. School field trip passing by, calls the cops. Tourists passing by, calls the cops. You can see where his thoughts were going. Not that anyone could suspect anything but accidental death from this, but going through the judicial systems red tape would take time. Then there would be the matter of getting back the body, and the paperwork involved in that. Coyote deserved to be taken in by the pack. Not be buried in some potters field.

"Damon go and get my tarps from the back of the car."

Ash kept plenty of accoutrements in the back for when he had to enact an execution. Always good to have a way to tote multiple bodies, which of course was the reason for the excessively large car in thirst place. With Damon getting things started he pulled the phone from his pocket and flipped it open, hearing Dakota talking to herself on the other end.

"Dakota, it's alright. We've got it taken care of on this end. You and Memphis stay at the house and tell Memphis to get things set up like we did for Elsa. He'll know what to do. I need you to just keep the pack in the house if you can. Don't alarm them. We'll let them know what's going on as soon as we can."

Ash waited for her agreement and then hung up and slid the phone back into his pocket.

"Lou why don't you and Alex go for a little walk. If you smell anything strange try to keep people out of this area. It won't take us long."

Damon came back with a tarp and a shovel, which was a good idea on the mans part since Coyote was quite flattened in the middle and they would need to scrape and scoop some parts of him up. What was left the animals here would take care of for them. Ash watched the girls go on their way as he and Damon began moving the rocks out of the way so they could get to the body. It took awhile even with their combined strength, but soon enough the remains of the young wolf were rolled up in the brown tarp and put in the back storage area of the Hummer along with the wreckage of his bike.

Leaving Damon in the Hummer he looked at Caleb in the truck waiting for Lou. Ash gave him a nod, not worried about the man saying anything to anyone. He worked for Sloane and was a long time companion of the Regina apparently so Ash was sure the man had seen worse. Going to find the girls he was ready to get home and get the explaining over with.

-Lou wasn't much of a girly girl. Comfortin people wasn't somethin she was exactly skilled at. Maybe Ash did this to teach her something. Like don't answer ya phone when ya Ulfric calls. Alex came to stand by her and in her own mule headed way Lou tried to help. Reachin out she linked her hand to the other womans and started guiding her off on the path as Ash had suggested. Gettin them away from the scent of the fresh body. Figurin that at least might stop some of the girls worries.-

"Well there's worse ways to go than a rockslide y'know. He probably bit it before he even had a chance to feel anythin."

-By the looks of his flattened skull she'd say that was a pretty fair assumption, but the barest measure of tact kept her from pointing that specific fact out. As they walked they came to a small pond and Lou looked around the ground for some skippin stones. Letting go of Alex's hand she bent down and grabbed up a couple of small smooth rocks. Two were handed over to Alex as they walked up to the edge of the water. Cocking back her arm she threw the stone in a fast wrist flicking motion. It hit the surface of the water and skipped six times before falling down into the depths.-

"My daddy taught me how'ta skip stones. It's somethin we used to do together when I was little and feelin bad. Just sorta used ta calm me down."

-Lou shrugged. Maybe it was just her that it helped, but it felt good  to stand there in the quiet outdoors and do something simple and mindless for awhile. It shut off the part of her brain that was always yacking. Maybe that was why she liked it so much. Later when Ash called them to go she walked beside Alex back to the parking lot and climbed into Calebs truck with her letting her sit by the window so Calebs stink wouldn't kill her.-
