After the talk he'd had with Alex on the beach he wanted to do something special for her. Since her birthday was coming up on Monday he decided to give her an early gift. Something to lift her spirits and give her someone to hold onto when she started to feel alone. Hopefully something thatshe wouldn't try to flay the skin off of. Ash drove out to a dog breeders that someone at the station had told him about and picked out a male Great Pyronese who was the friskiest puppy in the litter which sort of reminded him of how Alex could be when she wasn't depressed and angry. It wagged it's tail and explored the Hummer all the way home, and it pissed on his floor board. Ash thought about turning around and taking the dog back for a second, but they were almost there. In the kitchen he tied a big red ribbon around the dogs neck and got a bunch of newspaper to put down in the laundry room. There were dog toys and a dog bed, everything a puppy would need he had picked up. Then he went to leave a note on Alex's door.
Alex, Things will get better. There's something for you in the laundry room. Have a peek when you get up. Ash
There would also be a second note taped on the dryer in the laundry room with the puppy.
Alex, Clean up after it or I'll have Sati eat him. Happy Birthday. Ash
Not long after Ash had left the note, did Alex get up. Knuckling at her eyes to rub away sleep, she yawned and opened her door. Blinking as she saw something flutter, and pulled the note down, reading it. Head cocked in curiosity, as she moved for the steps, and bounded downstairs. Before she even got into the kitchen, she heard the pittiful crying of a puppy, and eye's went wide, a yelp was let out and she all but pranced to the door, looking down at the not so little puppy that was nawing on a chew toy. She plopped on the floor, only to have the pup leap into her lap and cover her with kisses, causing her to laugh and fall back on the ground. fingers threading through it's white fur. A smile on her lips as she sat up, and looked him over, contemplating for a few minutes.
"Your name shall be........Helix!"
Why Helix? No idea! it just sounded good! Looking about the laundry room, she piled the bed and toys and other doggy things into a laundry basket, and whistled to the puppy who glomped after her, up the steps and into her room, where she'd set his things out. Then, pup following after her again, she went in serch of Ash. Wether he wanted it or not he was getting pounced and getting a big ass hug!
