-The surfing competitions were approaching fast, and Lani only knew that Ace and her had joined. She remembered the first night she met Jack, out on the beach, surfing with them, and wondered if he was going to join the competition. Probably not, but it was worth a try. Picking up the phone from the pack house, she dialed Jack's cell number, allowing the phone to ring until it reached his voicemail.-
"Hey Jack. I'm sorry to hear 'bout your cafe burnt down, my deepest apologies yeah. But dat's not da reason why I'm callin. Da surfin competitions are comin up soon, beginning of March, and I was wonderin if you were gonna join it wif Ace and I. Gimme a call back sweety! Love ya!"
-She inserted her number for him to reach her, her cell number, which was always turned on. She wondered though; would Jack join the competition? It would be good for him, releasing pressure from his mind, releasing the thoughts on the cafe and his other nest members. Only focus on one thing; living the life on the board.-
Its been one hell of month! He had not been practicing much with everything that had been going on. So busy he forgot to turn on his cellphone until getting back into the room he was sharing with Deigo. The two still have not killed each other which is a good sign. So he checks his voicemail seeing a few messages. First was insurance, he was still working out the details with that. It was arson but not by him. Next was Lani which shocked him. It had been forever since he's seen the surfing wolf and smiles. He did get a new board, one made by Ace. The gift floored him and it was perfect for this. He should do this! The nest has been driving him up the wall, messing up all the time it seems. But Jack was just different from them and after a long moment of thought after the call he dials back to leave Lani a message.
"Hey Lani, thanks for the call. Uh, I'll be there. Got a new board for it thanks to Ace. Oh and if it goes onto the 8th, we need a party. I'll be turning into an old man. Ripe old age of 30."
He had to laugh, it wasn't that old but it would be the first birthday he could celebrate. It would be nice, as long as he didn't have to worry about the nest for a few days things will be good. Just nothing but surfers.
"So, I guess I will see you then? I'm over at a.... Friend's... place... " Shane's place. The Kadra wasn't exactly friendly material either. "Well, if there's mail you need send it to the Venom Skate Shop.. But don't do it in person." It would be safer that way, let the mailman possibly get eaten. "I'll stop eating your minutes and have fun, girl. I'll see you around. Maybe when I'm out crunching on the last practice days. Lots of love."
He'll have to hug her when he sees her. He needed to be reminded of that surfing thing. Surfing keeps him sane.
