A missive dropped off
Permalink Closed

After the interesting encounter with the Khan, and the information that he needed to find the Cities Master, Leonidas retreated to the quiet of his temporary lodgings. Nothing permanent would be sought out until he had the Masters permission of course, that would have just been rude. Not a good way to start out a move into the city. The night still held that crisp clearness of freshly fallen rain, the evening bringing the coolness of the shower, to a refreshing coldness for just a few hours. The sounds of the night slowly began to return as they felt the powers with in him settle.

Modern day pen and paper were placed before him on the table. And for several moments the pen simply tapped at his chiseled chin, while he gathered his thoughts. This was after all an important note to be written. His hand writing was blunt carefully drawn letters, it always made him smile slightly in remembrance of his schooling over the years. Reading and writing had not been a priority to learn in Spartan society, though it had been taught. Most of his penmanship had come after his rebirth. Shaking his dark blond head out of his reverie he went back to the matter at hand.

To the Master of the City:

As of a few nights ago, I have found myself in your city with the wish to linger. My name is Leonidas, and must apologize for not announcing my arrival before hand. It was but chance that turned my path onto the one I now find myself on.

Same chance led me to the door of the Tiger Khan of the city, who has directed my path to you. And so I express my desire to pay my respects as is proper. I leave you this message with the hope we can set a time to meet.

      Leonidas

The note was brief and to the point. Despite all the centuries he still retained much of his Spartan upbringing. Not one to beat around the bush, he simply got to the point of the matter. The note was enclosed in an envelop, which was then sealed. A small box was lifted to the table and opened. A stick of hard blue wax taken out, he placed a lit match to the end and let a few drops fall to the envelop. Next a seal was pressed into the rapidly cooling substance, leaving the impression of a Spartan helm on it. The seal was very old, and he kept it with him. Hid away at his resting place, where ever he went.

Retracing his steps, he moved with determined steps. This time letting nothing distract him. Dawn was approaching and he needed to be safe when it arrived. Following the map that the tiger Khan had given him, he found Club Bliss and left the note with specific instructions to be handed to the City Master. In the envelope was also a card with a phone number where Leonidas could be reached. He was an interesting mix of old and new.

Before death reclaimed him, back at his temporary resting place, a slow smile curved his lips. If all went well this could be one of the more interesting centuries of his long unlife.
