Let it linger on the tongue, that one name that just thinking of it puts a smile on your lips. Kota sat in her home office plotting and planing whispering that name over and over again. Harry was her man, she adored him and since coming back from New York they had not had a chance to see each other or talk much. It was one of those things that happened when trouble stuck or duty called. A true test of loyalty and heart. It also called for that extra special touch for the next meeting. Devilish violet eyes danced across all the goodies spread out across her desk.
It had taken a good 6 hours to make the map alone. Between counting foot steps, yards or miles, then drawing out the map and cutting it in to pieces. It had all taken a little longer then she had expected. After the map was made, she had to gather up all the little items needed to be left around town to lead back to a clearing in the woods. If she had planed it all right, made the clues easy, but not to easy so they would not be solved to quickly. Harry would arrive just after dark to play an evening game. The first bag would be the one delivered to Harry by a fair that really did not need a ride.
After the night at the cafe, and feeling completely lost till Ash and Sil had offered their shoulders to cry on. Kota chased away the rest of the demons with her organization and putting together the little project. Items all found themselves tucked in to a small gift bag lines with tissue paper. One large sunflower stuck out the top to add that finishing touch. Yes she was ready to get this started... which meant it was time to go in to town, make arrangements with Mrs. Flowers. Who else would Harry drop what he was doing for? It was a safe bet and there was little risk of him being pulled away in the middle of things.
She arrived around 1pm, making sure Harry was not home to catch her in the act. It was safe, and peach cobbler with the darling old woman helped to brighten Kota's spirits a little further. The whole plan was revealed to the old woman, every little detail, from start to finish... after they had a long talk about what had happened the night before. It was nearly 3pm before she high tailed it out of there letting Mrs Flowers make the call to Harry. She rang him up, made the call very short and simple...
"Yes dear. I need a few things from the market. Ran out of Milk and eggs and I am in the middle of baking... Would you be a peach and fetch them for me? Drop them by the house?"
When Harry arrived she would have something waiting for him, and she would get what she needed from the market. Two birds, one stone. Can't get better then that.
"Shaddup or get out!" -It was shouted in that bellowing low voice to the couple arguing in the back of his Taxi. The woman looked like she was about to protest but he shot them both a sharp look with those white blue wolf eyes and sure enough they shut up.- "Ok, Miss Flowers what was that?" -Listening carefully he laughed and pressed on the gas. He could get these two dropped off and pick up what she needed and be there in twenty minutes which was what he told her. She seemed to think that would be alright, though she sounded oddly nervous and more twittering than usual. It made him wonder vaguely if she had gotten into the cooking sherry. So off he dropped the two at the curb of their destination, reminding the man that Tipping was not a country in China. Then the necesary items were picked up at the markey and off he went to make his delivery to Miss Flowers, never suspecting what his honey bunny had planned for him.-
The whole house smelled of backing, Mrs. Flowers was really doing it up... Kota had even manage to get a plate of cookies out of the visit and a recipe for them so she could whip them up herself. What what the little old woman was helping her with, Kota was going to have to come over baring gifts for her very soon. Was her scent still lingering in the house when Harry got there? More then likely, but Mrs. Flowers was not going to dilly dally about handing over the little gift bag to the man. She was to excited not to!
Harry's walking in to the kitchen had him in the middle of a baking frenzy! Cookies and pies were all over the counter tops cooling, there was another siting on the window ledge and on the table, sat a bag with tissue paper sticking out the top. She was humming some old melody that many would have forgotten by now. Just one of those things women did in the kitchen when they were contently enjoying the domestic duties.
"Thank you Harry Dear... oh before I forget. You got a package today... Its on the table dear."
Mrs Flowers looked like she was getting back to her baking, But in truth she was watching Harry to see what he did next. Upon the table the small gift bag rested, Nothing fancy about it. A brown bag with rope handles and a little tag hanging at the side. White tissue paper peeking over the edges and a big yellow sunflower towered over the handles. Inside the bag was a folded up piece of paper, an old fashioned brass key
And sure enough when he flipped the stationary over, taped to the back was a piece of the map she had cut out of the larger one. It started from Mrs Flowers house, she had even drawn in the front walk, and his taxi parked out front. When she left the house. It was off to the next location, in the park digging in to the lose dirt at the base of a tree. The metal box was tucked safely in to the soil, covered over
