-Mia had come home later then usual and had expected the StingRay to be in the driveway to confess something to Cassie but her Oba was not at her house. Letting herself in she would head to her room and open a notebook and sit propped agianst the back of the bed.-
Cassie~ I wasn't sure who to tell or if I should say anything but I figured you would know what to do. I was at the park tonight with Kat and a guy came to talk to her. Kat said his name was Paulie. I'm not sure if you remember him from the other night at the pub. He was talking to the Rat King. Anyway, I'm babbling. I saw him tonight and his jaw is wired shut, I guess the King gave him a beating for something. Anyway that's not what's important. His neck, he has claw marks on it and the skin is burning up. I think he might be infected. I wasn't sure who to tell or who not to tell. I didn't tell him anything. I was hoping you would know what to do or who to tell. I didn't want to get the Rat's mad at me so I didn't want to say anything but I thought someone should know, to perhaps keep an eye on him. I'm not sure if he's safe, I mean I've heard the stories about safe houses that the police will put newly bitten or hurt shifters to keep them from going wild when they come to the first shift. He was very nice to me, well sort of. I couldn't really understand him sometimes what with his mouth being wired shut. Anyway, I'm heading to the library tomorrow to get some books out on the Koran since my next term stars soon and my Advanced writing class has given us the option of earning extra credit with a thesis on foreign culture. Call me if you need me.
~Mia <3
-She ripped the paper out of the notebook rereading it before folding it over and rippping off the little serrated edges before writting Cassie's name on top. Mia moved through the house and to Cassie's room, never going into it. That was her private santuary. She stuck the edge between door and door jam in hopes her Oba would see it before openning her door-
-Cassie came home soon enough. The day and most of the night was spent at the office, since she wanted to learn the new systems, without the aid of Dizzy. Whom she kept calling like a life line when her computer would error. The Stingray would be parked, and the woman of black on black stepped out. Keys dangled from fingertips, as she opened the garage door, then closed it, locking her beautiful car inside the garage. The house was opened, and then locked, knowing Mia had the keys to the front and back door. Hand pushed through her raven colored hair as she walked up the stairs to her room. The note she found, wedged, and as she unlocked her room, she began to read.
The memory of the Rat King, and another man did stick out in her mind. And the thought that he had infected someone, sort of put a twisted smile on her face. That inner beast perking at the thought. A change of clothes was in order, before she would seek this new person, and check for herself. The muzzle would be in place, but after the new moon, Cassie eased on locking the laughing joker. She was Oba, and she should act accordingly. Especially when Mia was concerned. For some reason that Hindu woman made moving to Salem a little better.-
