A groan passed rose-pink lips as lids fluttered open, revealing brown orbs. Val winced and put both hands to her head. She was not sure why, but after every full moon her head ached. It was the reason she kept aspirin around - not that it helped much. Grabbing a pair of old pants and an over-sized t-shirt with three horses running on it, Val headed for the bathroom to get a shower.
Once clean, clothed, and smelling faintly of lavender, she returned to her room to sprawl across the bed. Her door was left half open to let people know she was here and awake should anyone want to talk to her. Eyes closed and concentration was put to remembering what had happened the night of the full moon. The petite femme had issues with the lack of memory that came with the shift, though Sarah had told her it would happen. She remembered being in the pool with Aurriana.. then running to answer something. What that something was, she couldn't put a finger on.
There were people where they went, blurry an unrecognizable to her. Of course, she remembered the prey. Oddly enough, that was always perfectly clear to her. With a soft grumble, she rolled over, head lolling off the edge of the bed so she could stare at the wall. She had other things to think about besides what happened on one full moon. Like whether or not to take the advice that was given to her and call her brothers.
She had put it off until after the moon since she'd remembered what Jessie said about high emotions rousing the beast. Feet kicked gently against the edge of the bed, teeth nibbling at her bottom lip. It wouldn't hurt to put it off a little longer. It was doubtful that anyone would think to search for her this far north anyway.. right?
Val sat up and grabbed her laptop, punching the button to turn it on. Fingers tapping impatiently, she waited for it to boot up. Once it had, she opened the internet, looking up the latest Charleston news. What should she find, but her picture. The caption read "Local girl, still missing." Brown eyes sped over the typed words, a soft gasp as she read one passage. "...authorities have sent descriptions and photographs nationwide. The family has put up a reward for her safe return."
"Oh, Papa. Why couldn't you just give up?" Spoken softly to the screen before she set it on the bedside table. Great, now she had few options. She decided she'd have to talk to someone, maybe have them sit with her while she made the phone calls. First, she had to get herself under control.. and that wasn't likely to happen for a while. Not with her curled up in the middle of the bed, screaming into her pillows.
