-Mozart, one of her very own, played in her room now. Lyric sat on the soft lush green comforter, to do the wrapping of Ash's new CDs. She had bought him three of Mozart's most classical pieces, with some Chopin, Beethoven and a little of Bach as well. Added to the six CD's was one she found to be interesting. It had all the artists mentioned, and more with a two part CD collection. The paper used was a Mock Celtic version of knots. That was a personal gift. Not like the other things she had bought weren't. But the others were more for safety. Granted Ash was the one who protected Lyric. He was her foster father in the Pack. But there was little things that Lyric could do that didn't involve force at all. Much like something that sat on her bed next to her. The silver of the casing was a burn against her knee. But it was a good burn. A nice reminder of what was going to be given to her Ulfric. Her savior, and salvation from the nightmare that had been Boston.

Though that was not the only reason as to why Lyric was doing this. It had been a custom, once you joined a pack, the first full moon it was customary to gave a gift to the Ulfric. It was a Boston custom. Perhaps it was not one here in Salem, but Lyric kept the custom up all the same. If Ash didn't want the gifts, he could discard them. She hoped he would like them. What was it exactly? Dark hands would lift the casing of silver, the burn stinging her fingers as the lid was lifted. Not only was it silver, but it was blessed. Three items had been blessed by the priest. The jewelry box was the shape of a Celtic cross. The one with real intricate knots, that meant protector, leader, and champion. Lyric couldn't find the one that meant Savior. Or simply, perhaps they didn't make it. The box was lined with a red felt, perfect for the first item that was going to be set in the box.

The first item was a rosary. Also of silver, and blessed. Lyric had made a good donation to the Cathedral for the priest to grant her the favor of the blessed items, as well for the small round vial of holy water. The rosary however was special to Lyric. Yes, it had been bought, but that didn't take away from the reason it was special. She had used one of her crosses and replaced it with the one it came with originally. The cross was Celtic, keeping with the theme of the jewelry box in which was setting it in. The Celtic cross, was a simple silver cross a circle behind it. There was engravings in the back. The top of the cross held 'He who died.' The bottom of the cross had 'For our sins.' And across to the left was 'Father please,' and to the right 'Forgive them.' The beads were real emeralds and pearls. The 6 PATERS beads were made of mother of pearls beads, and the 53 AVE's were of emeralds. The connecter was a knot that meant Protector, in knot working.

The second was a simple ring. Silver, like all of Ash's jewelry. A band of silver that would fit nicely on his index finger. It wouldn't even cover the roman number he had tattooed. It looked as if it belonged to a knight. The center a crystal, of white. Much like a diamond, yet it was made to withstand a shift, if needed. Down the sides were rounded dots of silver.

The last thing that was placed in the box was the vial of holy water. A rounded vial with a cross in white.

Legs unfolded, socked feet touching the lush green carpet of her room. A note was set in the box, with a simple script saying. "To my Ulfric. My Protector, may these protect you."

The lid was set on the box, closing the presents in. Legs carried Lyric with her gifts down the stairs to Ash's room. He was no where to be found as of yet. Perhaps at work, or eating. They really needed to get some food in the house soon. The Pack was growing so fast. The CDs, were propped against the jewelry box, hiding it from sight. So the first thing he'd see was the green wrapping paper with the fake knot working in a deeper green tone with a black outline. Her scent, she knew would give her away. Which wasn't a big deal. Socked feet hurried out of the room, and raced up the stairs to her own. Needed to do some paper work before tomorrow's court date.-

Hands moved carefully, lifting the lid on the box and setting it aside before pushing through the crunch of all that soft tissue paper to pull the heavy silver jewelry box from inside. At first it made that generous mouth to quirk in a grin...had it come to this?...women were giving him jewelry boxes.  Lifting the top he reached inside and looped a long digit through the coil of that rosaries beads. Slowly pulling the strand up and into the light where the gems twinkled brightly. Ash was never without at least two crosses on his person. They were as natural a part of his attire as pants. All the gifts were so lovely, the ring the perfect size to slip over his index finger, and the holy water her might be able to affix to a chain, sort of an emergency grenade.
Lyric was the only member of the pack to give him a host gift, or show any kind of gratitude as a matter of fact. It meant something. It was sweet and endearing, and very very personal, and he wouldn't forget that she had done it. His little girl.
